Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pancho1 Room Worn Out
My room was worn out and tired, which is not what I normally find when staying at HIE's. There was a water mark on the side of the bed, the carpet, chair and sofa in the room were not clean and needed replacing.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the rest of the hotel was the usual high standard that you expect from HIE hotels. I suspect that, being next to the Leicester City Football ground doesn't help and that HIE need to realise that this hotel needs to be refurbished on a more recent basis.
I stayed at another HIE the following night which was excellent. I always stay at HIE and will continue to do so - just not this one.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ibstock2 Good clean hotel, would stay again
Excellent Value, clean room, bathroom, breakfast was very good , lots of choice. There is a steak restaurant next door, and a Nandos and cinema about 5 minute walk away, apart from that very quiet location, wouldn't want to be there on a football day as the hotel is next door to the ground and I assume would be busy. Has free car park where other hotels dont. You can also order from outside, lots of choice as we did, we stayed with 2 young children who loved it.

Does the job.
As usual with Holiday Inn Express hotels, they don't seem to be able to tune in the available Freeview stations on their TVs.
Very good value though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nurture Good choice for a short city break in Leicester
I stayed her in August 2014 with my partner. We were in town for the carnival.he room was good and clean. Very comfortable beds with choice of hard or soft pillows. Had the best sleep I have had in years.
The hotel is 5 mins from and 10 Mins from the main Leicester Station and right next to the football ground. We went to the Spur Grill next door for lunch and had fabulous service and good food. We had free breakfast with our booking and it was really better than I expected, wiith an all you can eat - buffet , with hot food , cereals, fruit etc. choice of teas and drinks etc.
Staff were very accommodating and were quick to respond to queries..
I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Leicester.

This is a nice HIE on the doorstep of LCFC and within walking distance of cinema and restaurants.
Very impressed with the management, housekeeping and breakfast staff. Slightly moody recetion staff should take note ! Only recognition of IHG rewards was the offer of points or a drink - we had to ask for the wifi. This is unusual, as it seems very important in other hotels particularly HI.
Thank you for a relaxed stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by susan 35 breakfast/staff
The only things that let the hotel down was some of the staff on reception and the breakfast staff. The reception staff didn't even lookat you let alone say morning etc they would sooner talk to each other. Breakfast was very disappointing as it was the same for our 4 stay sausages, beans, scrambled egg. There was no bacon on an day we stayed. On their Sunday morning the beans had ran out by 9:15 I asked the breakfast staff if there were any beans she answered beans picked up the pot and went into the kitchen. I thought she had gone for more so I waited as I had young children who wanted beans on toast for breakfast, they never came out and I wasn't told there wasn't going to be any.

This Holiday Inn Express is situated right opposite the LCFC Stadium but however I wasn't there on a match day and I enjoyed staying in this hotel very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. Wish that was the case in every hotel! Free WiFi for IHG members and free newspaper. Would stay here again and recommend this hotel. Secure car park as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Haiku17 Good value hotel next to Leicester City ground
A good hotel with friendly staff in a fairly central location, handy for both the City and Tigers grounds, with parking in the hotel's car park. Limited choice for breakfast, but good food. Rooms are fairly basic but are very clean. We had a room with a double bed, and my only gripe was that the bed in our room was a standard sized double and a bit saggy in the middle. However, overall a very good value hotel for around £60 per night for 3 people including breakfast, internet and car parking. Recommended. ,

Room was very hot, unable cool room down to less than 19 c, made room uncomfortable, causing sleep problems. Breakfast was a night mare, not relaxing or comfortable, poor start to the morning. Otherwise hotel was clean, staff were good and friendly. Apart from points mentioned OK stay.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service and the general look of the hotel as I have usually found Holiday Inn Express hotels to be lacking and avoid using them - I stayed here as it was very close to my destination and was very glad I did.

We booked this hotel a few months ago for the Kasabian Summer Solstice gig. It was excellent value for money and overall the hotel is nice and modern.
The room was clean and well maintained with air con and nice comfortable beds. The shower was lovely, strong and powerful unlike most budget hotels and the water was consistently hot. The only gripe I had was that the flush on the toilet wasn't very good. If I went to the toilet and then my partner went just 5/10 minutes after he was unable to flush as the cistern took so long to refill. I also really liked the fact you were fully able to open the windows, most hotels nowadays you can only open the window a crack and I much prefer fresh air over dry air con air.
Breakfast in the morning was ok for what it was - there was only really sausages, beans and scrambled eggs on the hot side and then there were cereals and pastries (inedible as they were rock solid#. Coffee and Tea was nice though.
In the short time we were at breakfast the cleaners made up our room so we were chuffed with that.
The only big complaint I have which I am still completely shocked even happened. Whilst we were at the gig one of our friends who wasn't even staying at the hotel lost us so made his way back to our hotel...he didn't know our room number so asked at reception. He then asked them for a key to our room and was given one. We were not aware of this and arrived back at the hotel at about 2am, attempted to access our room but our key had been wiped because a new one had been issued. We went to reception were given a new key and then when we arrived in our room there was #what we thought was a random# guy sleeping in our bed. I complained at reception straight away and wasn't even offered an apology. In the morning when I checked out I mentioned it again and I was offered a half hearted apology with the normal line of "i'll pass that on to management". I was genuinely annoyed that #even though it was our friend) someone had been asleep in our bed. Made our bed effectively dirty and which we then had to sleep in. I felt I should have been offered some kind of compensation but nothing was offered. All that I kept on thinking was what if someone had just heard my name and room number mentioned in reception asked for a key and then went in and stole some valuables but it seems the hotel staff couldn't see why I was so upset about the situation.
Anyway overall...I would stay again!!

A great location for those visiting both the football and rugby stadiums at Leicester. Its a 15/20 minute walk to city centre. Hotel provides VFM and has the benefit of on site parking. Have stayed a number of times and found the facilities fine last visit hopefully a one off, hot night and air con not working.
