Two separate buildings, we were located in the back building, were able to park outside our room window. The pillows are terrible. Need to go with a different brand of bed pillows. The towels good be a little softer. May 7, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel One of the best Holiday Inn Express I have stayed. The room is very spacious, extremely comfortable and relaxing. The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. There is an excellent Thai restaurant two blocks away. Sissy Cafe in the middle of town is also excellent. March was too early for the flowers, but the beach was wonderful. to go there you go across the railroad station, Lompoc Surf. It is very beautiful and there are only a few people. You can still find sea shells here. Mission La Purisima is also wonderful to visit. We will definitely go back to stay even for two nights. March 28, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Visit Excellent Staff This was my first time staying in Lompoc on a business trip. I usually stay in Santa Maria or Solvang but I decided to try a new location. This was a positive experience. I had to use the business center to print some documents for work. Well I could not get the printer to work so I asked for help from the night clerk. She dropped what she was doing to work on it and got it going. I know she was busy for it was early in the morning. Her friendliness and dedication to meet my needs is greatly appreciated. I look forward to staying here again in my business travels. March 20, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place We checked in here in the wee hours of the night after completing a cross country drive. The desk clerk was very polite and helpful in getting us checked in. The room was quiet and comfortable despite the noise from outside. The only minor inconvenience was we ended up in a handicap accessible room and the shower head is on this removable and repositionable sliding fixture. The plastic clamping mechanism that held the shower head in place was worn and it kept wanting to fall out of place or fall off the mount completely. It was annoying but not the end of the world. Either way, I enjoyed the quiet room. The room was very clean and comfortable. I stay here when I am on business in the area. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast I travel with HIE on business several times each year. I also recommend them to my associates. When we stay, we are out the door at 6am for breakfast. We never get to eat at HIE because it starts at 7am, so the choices are irrelevant. Please consider starting weekend breakfast at 6am. November 13, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pick another hotel awful experience and will not return. In the morning all you would hear is the water running in the drains from the other rooms, was very annoying. Front desk staff was awful. My wife had spilled coffee as we were waiting for a taxi in the lobby and the front desk staff laughed at her. Very unprofessional and rude. When we checked out at the end of our weekend we were not even asked how are stay was. I would never suggest anyone stay here. October 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best hotel bed I've slept in, very quiet & convenient My husband and I went to Solvang for our 22nd anniversary and couldn't get a room in Solvang for one night without breaking the bank. We had never stayed in Lompoc before and it seemed convenient to Solvang so we opted for the Holiday Inn Express. From the moment we entered the lobby, the staff greeted us graciously, offering us water and providing us with a map and directions to Solvang. Our room (king) was very spacious with a desk, lots of closet space, a nice table to eat at and large bathroom. I have a temperamental back and struggle finding comfortable hotel beds where I can get a good nights sleep. This bed was the best hotel bed I've slept in a very long time! The hotel was also convenient to the highway, restaurants, and stores but was incredibly quiet. Breakfast is always wonderful at Holiday Inns and we weren't disappointed. Again the staff was polite and helpful making sure that guests had everything they wanted or needed. We will definitely be going back and do not hesitate recommending this hotel to all travelers. I had a race on Sept 21, and I was really upset the light didn't work in the shower when I got up and I had to take a shower in the dark which I didn't like. I got through because I'm an old military guy and I overcame as I've don't so often in the past. Before a room is considered clean someone should double check everything works before its considered ready for occupancy. September 27, 2013

We were pleasantly impressed with the large room and excellent services and amenities. There were some nice touches on the bed and we were very satisfied with the quality and service we got from Holiday Inn Express in all three locations. Holiday Inn Express exceeded our expectation. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RECALCULATING It's hard to know where to begin! When you check-in they have you sign one of those registration cards. The standard kind that you "initial here" and "sign there" type. Since we don't smoke, I did'nt bother to read it. This came back to bite me. (More on this later). As a clue to future experiences we saw three men dumpster diving at the corner of our building. they had trash scattered all around the place. Going into our room it looked worn and somewhat shabby. The carpet was discolored in several spots and it needed a good shampooing. Having lived in Lompoc many years previously, we knew that IHG had bought this property from Quality Inn and remodeled it. Since then it appears to have been neglected. We had a two bed room so we got exactly two wash clothes, two hand towels and two bath towels. All of which could be used to sand wooden floors. If we had kids with us I guess they were expected to share. Our next experience was breakfast. Lucky us! It was marginal at best. I learned from the clean-up lady that cooked entrees were brought in frozen and reheated or reconstituted on-site. This included reheated scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. It was along the order of MREs. Now back to check-in. As mentioned, I "initialed" and "signed" where directed without reading the fine print. Admittedly, my mistake! Later, a blinking red light on our room phone told us to call the front desk. Upon arrival at the desk I was informed that a $250.00 'Deep Cleaning' charge had been added to my bill. What was this?! It turned out that in the fine print of the sign-in card is the declaration that there is 'No Smoking" and "No Pets" or the guest is charged a 'Deep Cleaning' fee to sanitize the room.The motel claimed the maids had found some hair from my friends cat that we had brought along to be sure she received her twice daily medication. There were no signs regarding 'No Smoking' or 'No Pets' anywhere in the room. The front desk claimed there was a sign on a side table in the lobby and I should have seen it. I protested the lack of notification and signage in the room to the Front Desk Manager. Her attitude was resolute - no exceptions! Later after we returned home I tried to contact the General Manager. Every time I called I got her answering machine, even when the operator said she was in her office. When I finally left a message to call me - - sure enough the Front Desk Manager returned my call. All in all it was not a pleasant place to stay even if you discard the "Deep Cleaning" incident. Somehow I think our room is about the same as we left it. I suggest you RECALCULATE. May 31, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place to stay, reasonably priced. It was a very good stay up until the morning we were leaving. We went to breakfast and when we come back our room door was open and the maid had her vacuum cleaner in the room with our belongings still in the room and she was not in the room or even near the room. I finally found someone and asked them what the heck was going on. The person I asked knew very little English and could not understand what I was trying to convey with regard to why our room was being cleaned with our belongings still in the room. She had to go find someone that understood what we were trying to explain, but she just basically blew us off. Common sense tells you if you clean a room with people's belongings still in the room and check out time is 2 hours away, that they might use the room some more and then cleaning it becomes a moot point. Would you want to check into a room where the room was cleaned and then someone used it for a couple more hours? Totally not acceptable service! May 30, 2013

The staff that checked us in was superb. Most of the cyclists arrived early and in a group, but the staff really stepped up to make sure everyone was checked in as quickly as possible. Additionally, our contact with Christy was excellent in advance of our meeting. She did everything she promised and was a true professional. May 24, 2013
