Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convient and comfortable hotel I stay regularly at the hotel because of its convenience for working in Croydon and because it provides a consistent good standard of service and comfort. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The down side is that the building is squeezed into a very tight space at the back of shops. This leads to a very poor first impression when approaching the building and a relatively high level external noise in the early hours from deliveries and collections which can be disturbing if you do not have a room at the back of the hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I'd only stay here again if I had no other choice Not a great placed hotel down an alley filled with rubbish carts and litter from the stores it's behind. The front was crowded by smokers making it difficult to even get in. It's an express so I wasn't expecting much but the room was poorly designed, and skirting boards and desk were damaged. TV was aging with a damaged remote control. Breakfast was limited September 9, 2014

Greeted as a IHG member! and by my name. We were given the choice of floors for our room. The room was clean and airy. Breakfast in the morning was simple but adequate. Overall experience was good. Great service from the staff and very happy with quality and cleanliness of the rooms. The beds and pillows were very comfortable especially after a day of walking around London. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good variety of food available and drinks. Overall a great stay and will use again. August 31, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by shocked on arrival waited over half an hour due to a customer unhappy with a mistake in there booking. once checked in we went to our room to find it smelt like an ash tray, we went to reception to inform them and asked to be moved but we were told they were fully booked. if it hadn't have been 1;30 in the morning i would not have stayed as the smell was so bad it gave me an instant headache. due to the headache I was unable to sleep, so you can imagine i wasn't in the best of sorts in the morning, i then went for breakfast, well if you can call it that, it was like a feeding frenzy, as nothing was being replenished, so what was left people were just grabbing it. i have stayed at a fair few holiday inn's in the uk and abroad and non have been like what we experienced at this one,so i would say it must be a one off. but i wouldn't stay at this hotel again even if you payed me. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reception Staff Welcome On arrival the reception greeted my family and I in a professional and polite manner informing us about the hotel and that we would have to be provided with a different room that was accessible to a wheelchair. Reception staff informed as to how long it would take for the room to be available and invited us to take a seat in the lounge area. Subsequently a member of the reception staff informed us when the room was available and showed us to the room. Whilst in the room the reception staff member informed us that if at any point we needed to contact reception to press 0 on telephone. Also informing us that hotel card will have to be used to gain access to different parts of the hotel. August 28, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tour por europa Mi viaje fue de placer. hice mi reservación por internet y en cuanto llegue el personal de recepción fue muy amable, me asignaron habitación inmediatamente, respondieron mis dudas eficazmente, hay dos chicas que hablan español lo cual facilita mucho a quienes hablamos poco inglés, la habitación moderna, de buen tamaño y muy limpia, las instalaciones son modernas, es un hotel pequeño, modesto, pero muy bueno en relación costo beneficio, el unico inconventiente es que como iba de placer la ubicación es un poco alejada de las atracciones turisticas, aunque a tres cuadras tiene la estación de tren que te lleva al centro de londres y llegas en 20 minutos., tambien esta alejado del aeropuerto, pero tiene una linea de camión la 224 que te deja a tres cuadras del hotel como en una hora de trayecto. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service - OK Room The staff was excellent…very friendly and responsive. The breakfast was good, but would have liked to have had more variety, selection. The room was adequate, but pretty much bare bones. No refrigerator nor microwave. Nothing special to the decor, the furnishings were sparse, and the bathroom was dated. The room, however, was clean and the beds were comfortable, although a bit small. The hotel was hard to find initially (walking with suitcases from bus station) and not in the best location. However, there were a few American eateries around plus a bakery and grocery store. Trips into London require a 20-minute railway ride, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk up to the train station. Also, it's about a 90-minute bus ride from Heathrow airport. Next time I will more than likely book a hotel closer to London. August 7, 2014

Most of the staff were friendly and efficient but some were rude and unhelpful when I encountered a problem at check in. Overall I would say it's a good hotel but beware if you have any problems with your reservation and that is when customer service seems to go out the window. July 30, 2014

First the hotel is tucked behind the main road making it quiet, If you can get a room on the upper floors you will have a terrific view of the the countryside. It's located just 10 minute walk from two train stops. It is also right next to a major shopping mall and local market. The staff greated us and had everything ready. They came up with great choices of things to do. They really knew what they were doing. True professionals. The hotel itself was very clean, Beds comfortable, even the pull out couch was good. For a small room, it was great. The only thing I would do to improve is the breakfast. The eggs were a little bland. Kind of tasted like powdered eggs. Maybe some bacon. But besides that, everything was a hit. Thank you!!! July 21, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Internet very bad The internet was very bad and if you have work to do on a laptop please don't because you can't! My college booked out early due to this and another booked another hotel for the following week. If you have room at the front of the hotel you will get an early wake up call from the local stores getting their delivery and of course the bin collection. We felt more comfortable getting back to the hotel before it got dark due to it's location. The rooms are very clean and the staff are really helpful and polite nothing was to much trouble. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a good experience This is the first time we have spent in a Holiday Inn, overall it was a good experience, the only problem we had was the key card. We had no idea how to use it, it was not explained on check in, we spoke to other guests and they had had the same problem. It was only speaking to them that we found out how to use it. I would have liked to have been asked by the staff if we knew what to do to use it in the lift and room door. But this was just a minor problem, overall it was an ideal stay for us. July 12, 2014
