Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best rooms ever had This was my first Crowne Plaza experience. I spent one night in this modern hotel, and had a Clubroom with lounge access. I like my hotel room because it was so spacious with excellent bed and bathroom. Also staff in the reception was very professional and friendly. However, not all were perfect. Free WiFi was rather slow, and unfortunately I did not received promised continental breakfast in the lounge although promised. Maybe I was too early bird but this important service did not reached me. This was rather sad since this lounge was major criteria for me to select this hotel. June 13, 2014

Rooms always excellent standard, clean, modern, comfortable and high floor front facing rooms have excellent city views. Always recognised as a platinum member and on most occasions get Clubroom (including lounge access). On that note I would like to compliment Joel who was guest server during my last visit for his excellent customer service, he was very sociable and polite. On the few occasions I have ate at hotel bar food has been of a good standard, breakfast selections always good. June 9, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel. But did not feel welcomed This was the first time I have stayed at this hotel. My first impressions were that I felt not welcomed. I'm an ing reward customer and stay a lot in various holiday inns. I always get greeted as an ing reward customer but on this occasion I was not. Also for this first time I was asked to have 50 pound changed to my card for drinks and food bills on the room. I have never come a cross this before and felt very awkward. Also when we did use our room card at the bar later on, we were refused as we the credit was not put on the room. Luckily the bar staff checked this and was later rectified. However we were very embarrassed. The room looked clean but we could see clearly that there was damage on the gloss dressing table and there were visible stains on the carpet. Also I was not happy that you have to request the fridge to be unlocked. Never come across this before. The room was too warm and you could not get the air on below 19 deg. Overall our stay was ok. Possibly my expectation are to high. But every ing hotel I stay at seems to have higher standards of customer care and experience. June 4, 2014

Apparently 5 seconds of summer were staying and teenage girls camped out to catch a glimpse!!!! The hotel was clean, friendly and we had an excellent steak in The Glasshouse Restaurant. Breakfast was hot scrummy and plentiful. Fourth stay here and will only stay here in Manchester again, again and again. Thank you. June 3, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fresh, vibrant decor but uncomfortable pillows The room looked very vibrant with appropriate use of colors, but not overdone. It had a fresh feeling compared to the usual flare of chain hotels. We didn't like the pillows at all, they were very uncomfortable. The height as well as the shape were a bit odd and both of us were unable to sleep properly throughout the night. As a primary purpose of a hotel is to enable a good night's sleep, I wouldn't recommend this hotel until that was resolved. June 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel My fiancée and I stayed at the CP MCC for one night to celebrate our engagement with family and friends locally and the Hotel was excellent, as ever. Upon check-in I was greeted as a Gold IHG member and offered either complimentary points or a drinks voucher, we chose the former. When we checked into our room, the Hotel had made a little towel arrangement on our bed, as it was the night of our engagement party, which was a lovely touch. We didn't really utilise many of the facilities of the Hotel this time round, as we were out of the Hotel for most of the evening until the early hours, but what staff we did see, they had a friendly demeanour and upon check-out we were greeted with friendly staff at the reception desk. We also didn't use the Club Lounge this time either, but it looked clean and well stocked. We both love the Hotel and our experience this time round, coupled with other stays here leave us both in no doubt that we will be returning to the CP MCC when we chose to come back to Manchester. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Room When we arrived at the hotel, checking-in wasn't a problem, was very quick and easy. The room was fantastic, loved every second of staying there. Staff were very helpful as after checking out they kept our luggage safe whilst we went shopping for a few hours. Came back to collect after a while and everything was as we'd left it. Very clean, was provided with plenty of towels and complimentary shower gels/soaps. Beds were very comfortable, overall a great stay and would definitely book again! May 31, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfactory stay, but good location and fairly good rooms Booked a weekend to visit friends in Manchester, and had booked two rooms for 4 of us, all under my account. Check-in was carried out in very much a perfunctory manner. One room's keys had already been prepared, but the second room was not (despite all being on the same booking). No real friendliness at all, and it seemed other people at the front desk had a similar glum attitude. We were provided with two rooms next to each other on the 3rd floor and despite being a IHG Platinum, no upgrade was provided. I have to admit that I don't expect room upgrades, but I was a little surprised at the lack of availability. Even a room on a higher floor would have been nicer. Hotel room whilst compact seemed fairly nice and did have comfortable beds, but I could unfortunately hear some road noise, especially when buses came past. Not ideal, but I was not really bothered about changing rooms, especially when it was going to affect all four of us. Thankfully I had ear plugs! Hotel does provide free wifi, but it is basic wifi which you have to log into each time you use it, and it is the same as provided to all guests. This is in complete contrast to what is delivered at most IHG properties these days where IHG elites are offered the high speed internet offering for free. Not the biggest of issues, but it was quite slow and phone reception on my carrier was 1 bar at best, so my options were limited. Breakfast was ok, although the service on the first day was a little chaotic. Fortunately the following morning, things did appear to go fairly smoothly. Interestingly a late check-out request for 14:30 was denied, which I think is the first time I have been denied a request since I have been an IHG Platinum which is unusual. Again, hopefully this indicates this hotel has healthy bookings. Check-out was fairly efficient, however again staff appeared to not be particularly happy. None of the usual "how was your stay?" mentioned and on my check-out I was actually dealt with by one of the managers! I would certainly not go out of my way stay at this CP again in the future, especially as an elite. However, the rooms are fairly reasonable, and the location is good. I would obviously love to see a little more sound insulation for the lower rooms, and I do hope the management team hand out a few happy pills to cheer the staff up. May 29, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never staying again. We extended our stay to 2 nights but the reservations were made separately. We called the day before and asked for the reservations to be joined so there would be no issues with being moved out of the room. Upon checkin we found this had not been done so asked for it again. We asked a third time before going to bed on the first night. Despite asking 3 times our room keys were not activated for both nights and upon returning to the hotel in the afternoon we could not access our room. The woman on reception refused to simply reactivate the room key and insisted on escorting me to the room and making me describe the room before she would allow me in. She was incredibly rude and I felt like a criminal when this was clearly an error on the hotel's part. Housekeeping was also unacceptable - our tea service was not replenished after the 1st night and they refused to give us extra towels. When we checked out we were told there were additional charges which we did not incur. We refused to pay for these, but the hotel charged my credit card after we left. I will never stay in this hotel again, the staff are totally unacceptable for a Crowne Plaza. May 23, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, comfortable and convenient We stayed for one night as we were going to a concert at the Arena, which is close by. When we were choosing a hotel, the location was one of the reasons we decided on this one, but it also worked out to be the cheapest! It's really handy for the city centre, there's a car park just across the road and it's not too far from Victoria train station. Checking in was quick and efficient, the room was clean and very comfortable, and the extra items we asked for from housekeeping arrived pretty much straight away. We found all the staff to be friendly and very attentive, even in the bar (which was very busy on an extremely rainy Saturday night!) Breakfast was great - really one of the best hotel breakfasts I've come across. I've stayed in a few different hotels in Manchester, but this one will definitely be my first choice next time. Overall we had a very good stay this time but unfortunately we had to pay full price for breakfast as the receptionist didn't open a tab for us when we arrived and we were told it couldn't be changed when we went down for breakfast. We then got a knock on our door at 11.00 o'clock and was asked to leave our room even though we had booked to stay until 14.00. (though after explaining to the gentleman he did say we could stay). We will come back but think more care should be taken when booking guests in. May 15, 2014

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very clean, the bathroom spotless. The hotel was within walking distance (about 10 mns) to the city centre but only 3 mins from the Arndale Centre and Printworks. Would thoroughly recommend and will use again. May 12, 2014

Really pleasant and kind staff - their professionalism and speed of sorting out issues or enquiries are faultless. The club rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. The Club Lounge makes your stay very pleasing with a relaxed atmosphere - need more chairs though! Overall wonderful as usual. I had a problem with my room key card but it was sorted very quickly and professionally - very pleased with the service. May 9, 2014
