The space for breakfast was not large enough and we have to wait until somebody left, when it is in busy season.
You need to have better eggs and meat (good Bacon or Sausage).
We need to extend shuttle bus service up to 11 pm or 12 am including coming back from subway station like the other hotel.
The good things was that stuff was polite, the room was clean.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MICKEYPAUL Good Queens location
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the US open and Mets Field (4 1/2 miles)and the shuttle service they provided. The rooms are clean and the staff was friendly and helped us navigate around the area and figure out the subway. The breakfast served hot and cold food. There's a McDonald's right next door for an ice cream cone in the evening but not much else around.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MdTennisFans Excellent stay for US Open
Traveled as group of 4 women to attend US Open. Room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was good with a good variety of food options. Complimentary parking in a fenced lot was a huge bonus, as was the complimentary shuttle to/from the tennis center. Would definitely recommend this HIE to others and stay here again.

Stayed here while attending the US Open Tennis. Location is perfect between Manhattan and The tennis center. It is in an industrial area but feels safe and has the McDonalds next door which was great if you have kids with you. Breakfast at Hotel was fine but it could use some more seats. The ladies who were attending to the food and cleaning up were great. They were really working hard!
Room was standard size and was clean. We were happy and would recommend it to others. Having parking at the hotel was fantastic, I can see that it could fill up later so get there earlier if you can. Overall a good experience.

This hotel is exceptionally well-located for attending the US Open. Only 5 minutes from the Tennis Center. Traffic was never an issue. Room was excellent, as was the service. Room was affordable for the area. There is limited parking and we got in late 2 nights, but were still able to find a space. There is a McDonald's right next door with superior French fries that is open 24 hours.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VaGentry Quick stay between flights.
I arrived late and had to check out early. Alexis made check in and check out quick. She reserved a driver to take me to the airport. Driver was on time. Smooth sailing.
My room was clean. Lobby and entrance were clean too. The hotel is next to a 24hr McDonalds. That was a bonus after a 15 hour flight.
I received a welcome gift of water and chip because of gold status. Thanks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BoysNi Nice stay !
Recently stayed for 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and hospitable. The front entrance and lobby are clean and inviting. We had a King Suite, very nice, comfy beds and even the pull out sofa was very comfortable, as was the bedding and the pillows too. The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. We were not bothered by the noise from the traffic on the expressway. Breakfast was awesome, with plenty of choice, eggs, bagels, toast, nice fresh fruit, yogurt, a pancake machine, nice choice of juices, good coffee and their Cinnamon buns are an absolute must to try. Took the shuttle to the Woodhaven subway station, very handy service to have and much appreciated. Took a taxi back at night, which was about $13. Easy to take the subway down to Manhattan and surrounding area. Overall well done ! I would definitely stay again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by katrinaM Great spot to stay while in the city
We were here for 3 nights from August 8-11 in a king room. I really don't have any complaints about the hotel or the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, there was free breakfast, vending machine on all the floors. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Having a parking lot was definitely a plus. We had no problem getting parking at any time of day or night. People complained about noise from the highway, but what do you really expect when you're at that location? I personally didn't think it was bad and with the A/C on it was just white noise and our room faced the highway. I will say I liked being next to the highway because it was very easy to get places and to get back to the hotel. Overall good experience, I would recommend this hotel to others and we will definitely be staying here again when we're back in the city.

Not having been in this part of New York for decades, wasn't sure what to expect, but this Maspeth HI Express was perfect for our couple days in the city to see a ball game. We felt comfortable and safe, and the accomodations were excellent. Convenient location to the freeway to the stadium and fast food restaurants were next door and nearby. Wish they were pet friendly for my little poodle, but we handled the situation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JimMags Stayed here one night due to rates in the ctiy
Much more plesant than we expected, room was clean and in good condition, parking lot was fenced in so we felt that our vehicle was secure, easy drive from Times Square where the rates were double what we paid. Our only problem that we didn't even report to hotel staff was that the bathroom smelled a bit like mildew, not so bad that we felt the need to complain though. We would stay here again, especially to avoid higher prices in the city.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kss55 great little oasis in Queens
We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Maspeth before, and have always appreciated the convenience and comfort. Close to Brooklyn where our daughter lives, clean rooms and lobby, comfortable beds, and excellent, accommodating staff! This time was no exception. On Saturday evening, we found out our daughter had no place to sleep for the night; we had just spent the day moving her from one apartment to another, and the tenant in the new apartment had not yet moved out. I asked the manager, Matt or Mike (?), if we could move from a King room to one with 2 doubles, and he went above and beyond to make it happen, despite the fact that he was expecting 30+ people coming in from a flight that evening. We were able to spend a relaxing evening with our daughter eating take-out and watching TV in the comfort of our air-conditioned room.
Pro's: free parking, attentive desk staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, lots of towels, convenient location to Brooklyn.
Con's: Breakfast was mobbed Sunday morning and only one person on to handle to crowd. Had to wait at least 25 minutes just for eggs and sausage, and the other food items were not well stocked as a result. Glad we were not in a hurry!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RolandvanM Sunny spot during a horrible Delta weekend
Although the reason for my stay was nothing fun, because it was due to a disgraceful customer service performance from Delta airlines, the hotel lifted my spirits both at check in as well as check out the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even before they realized my membership level at priority rewards the staff was giving platinum service. Facilities were clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. although Queens for most people may not be the most likely place to stay when in the NYC area still this hotel is situated at a relatively short distance from both midtown Manhattan as well as JFK or LGA airports.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Inyourface Poor experience with this stay
I will never stay at this hotel again as the entire experience from the phone call I received to the checkout was not the Holiday Inn I know. I am a platinum member and have been for several years and this hotel ranked the worst stay since I started traveling. The management are cowards as they sent a counter person to attempt to resolve the initial issue and I will not allow this person to resolve the issue as they are not responsible for the issue and should not be made to be subject to difficult situations. I talked with HQ about this hotel and they attempted to reach out to the hotel and encourage contact with me but they experienced the same response as I. I travel to NYC many times during the year but your hotel will not be revisited in the future. The tactic that I experienced is what many express as the "In Your Face New York Attitude."

the facility is in great shape and the rooms are quiet. I have stayed here numerous times in the past three years and each time the staff is professional and accommodating. What more could a business traveler ask for.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jaz5802 Great Staff
My husband and I stayed here to be close to a house in Forest Hills. The hotel is literally across the street from the Long Island Expressway, which was a plus for us. Although the room itself was small, it was very clean. The area is more industrial than I thought it would be, but access to Manhattan and Long Island was what we really needed. The staff was more than accommodating - offering to pack us fruit for our long day. We stayed 5 nights and would definitely come back again when needed. Beautifully remodeled as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cherford959 nice clean hotel
but WHY...were we checked out & checked back in when extended? I was told it was because NY law is that a person cannot be in the same room for more than 30 days..I .travel for my job and have spent MONTHS in a hotel...I've never heard of this...I suspect it is so the "extended stay" tax refund would not have to be done.
WHY - was there laundy soap & Fabric Softner sheets being sold in the vending machine, when the washer & dryer have been "out of service" for months? and NO refund given when the laundry soap was purchased?
100's of little cars "racing" behind hotel...I understand nothing can be done about it....but no one could sleep on Fri & Sat nights.
The Staff where VERY VERY nice.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by johann26 Nice Room, Nice Personnel but Not-so-Good Shuttle
Nice place to stay, but my experience with the shuttle that was supposed to depart at 8 am was pretty bad. We finally got on the road at 830---no apology for tardiness. And then it turns out the shuttle only brings you to the nearest subway stop, but does not bring you back. Finally, the hotel website should make it clear that the shuttle only runs from 8-5.
People at the front desk and in the breakfast area were great.

I stay at hotels a lot. And the staff at Holiday Inn Express are by far the best ever. I had the same experience in Vegas, this company knows how to hire. But Maspeth is real good and very freindly, Willing to do whatever to make your stay as close to being home as possible. The place is clean and comfortable.

Breakfast staff were awesome on both days...very attentive, lots of smiles and they cared about whether we needed anything :)
The night desk clerk(came on at midnight both nights) was awesome...personable, assisting us with travel plans into the city and just plain professional.
No parking on our arrival was bothersome. My car was swiped on the rear in the side because I had to park on the street.

Very good hotel.
This is a true Holiday Inn Express comparable to any HIE off any interstate exit in the USA. The rooms are not New York sized.
Free breakfast and free parking which normally cost at least $24 at the other hotels in Brooklyn and NYC.
Helpful and friendly staff.
