Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent staff and great value for accomadations You have an outstanding staff thatwas very attentive to our needs once again. Marcella Followed up to make sure we had a comfortable room on our stay. Initially the room we were given was a upgrade to a suite. However we needed two queen size beds and rather then the pullout couch. So Marcella was very gracious and giving us another room right away which exceeded our needs. She was very friendly and accommodating. The next morning we saw Kim at the desk. She originally helped us on our first day the week prior when we are traveling to Charleston. She was once again extremely friendly and helpful. Hiral was at the desk when we checked out. She is extremely friendly and helpful as well.I would also like to meantion Shirley from our her first stay on January 1st . She did fantastic job with the Breakfast food and showed a lot of pride in her job. We also were very pleased with lady in charge of the continental breakfast who worked on that Saturday morning She offered us a tray to take back to our room when my wife was trying to carry some breakfast items back to our children. To recap I would like to send my praise to Kim , Hiral, Marcela, Shirley and the other food attendant that worked on January 10 in the morning. It is people like this that make us want to come back again and stay at your hotel. We will return again the next time we come to Charleston in May and we will tell our family and friends about your Holiday Inn Express. hotel in Mechanicsville. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff, bad room Easy check in, nice staff. Room had dead and living bugs in it. Not bedbugs. I think they're called stinkbugs. I found dead ones in my bedding, on the TV and night stand and a few living ones crawling on the wall/ceiling. It was not a pleasant experience. The beds were lumpy. It gave me the impression that the rooms need to be updated and cleaned thoroughly! I didn't bring it to the front desks attention because I figured that if there were bugs in my room and in the elevators then they were likely in others. I just made the best of it, killed the living ones and threw the dead ones in the trash (gross!!) December 31, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Need to Check in Faster Great hotel except for one thing. It takes for ever to get checked in even though you have reservations. After being on the road for several hours and with it getting late in the afternoon, the last thing you expect is to have to wait at the front desk for an extended amount of time just to get your room. I had reservations that I had made a week in advance. At most Holiday Inn Express Hotels the check in procedure is painless. Not at this hotel though. There was only one person in front of me but it still took every bit of 10-15 minutes for me to get the keys to my room. There has got to be a better way!! December 16, 2014
