This was our first stay at this HI Express as before we have stayed at the one in Paducah. Our reason for staying was this HIE allows pets over 35 pounds and we were traveling for Christmas with our pet. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was greeted as a Priority Club Member but was not given anything, i.e. water, popcorn, etc. Not a big deal really but it would have been nice. The room was clean and had everything we needed for the evening. The biggest thing we really enjoyed was the large area for the pets and how the Staff was able to provide us with a room on the first floor down by the side exit.
The only con I would mention is the noise level of those above on the other floors. Not the fault of the Staff but that of the building of it in the first place. The other con would be the pillows provided. I would recommend bringing along your own like we did.
We will definitely use this hotel again if and when we travel south to visit family again.

We decided to drive the extra 7 miles out of Paducha and stay in Metropolis instead (saved money). The gentleman that checked us in (Vic) was the best. He obviously enjoyed his job and was a great welcome after a long day on the road. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hot, area was kept clean. We recommend this property and will stay there again.

I checked in after a 5 hour drive from Chattanooga. Was not greeted as a Platinum member, or even a member at all. When I asked if my Rewards number was in the reservation, he said it was, and only then offered me water and popcorn (Popcorn may have been the highlight!).
I had requested a King, but he said he only had two queens left...OK, just give me the room. Got to the room on the 2nd floor facing the back of the building, and as I walked into the room, you actually walked downhill toward the back of the room, as situation I could only attribute to shoddy construction. The bathroom, while clean looked "dated," and in need of a makeover.
In my extensive travels I have come to expect more from HI Express than the service and room I received from this one in Metropolis. As I say, disappointing.

We've stayed at this hotel before and this was by far our best experience. The breakfast choices have improved over the last time we stayed here.

THE SERVICE, ROOM AND BREAKFAST WAS GREAT...HOWEVER, I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT WHEN FAMILIES CHECK IN WITH CHILDREN THAT THEY BE GIVEN ROOMS ON GROUND FLOOR. AT NO FAULT OF YOUR HOTEL,OR THE CHILDREN IT WAS LIKE A HEARD OF ELEPHANTS ABOVE OUR HEADS. I LOVE TO KNOW CHILDREN ARE HAPPY BUT THERE MAY BE SOME CUSTOMERS THAT DON'T.
AGAIN GREAT SERVICE, ROOM AND BREAKFAST...

The staff was wonderful; It was my daughter's birthday and the (male) front desk clerk personalized it by signing a business card with birthday wishes and taping it to our Priority Rewards bag with her name on it.
The breakfast was amazing; The first hotel breakfast that I actually left the dining area stuffed; Great job!
The room was efficient, but I do recommend you to bring extra pillows.
The indoor pool and exercise room could be a little larger and a little more private. It was kind of weird and embarrassing doing both activities in the main lobby/hallway of the hotel.
But, it was all clean. So, that is a A + in my book.

We had wonderful accommodations and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We have stayed at this hotel for several years and will definitely return again.
