Undergoing renovation (4/2015) yet as an older property I don't believe this will bring it up to the typical current HI property standards.

The hotel was being renovated inside and out, which made it look bad in parts, but did not actually detract from the quality of our stay. I had to be out of the hotel before 9am to get to my conference; had I been traveling for leisure I might have slept later, but that wasn't going to happen as people started hauling beds and furniture into the hallway outside our room right at 9am to start working on the renovations. Until renovations are done, do not plan on sleeping late. The bathroom in our room was small ... it was totally serviceable for our visit, but if I had been traveling with anyone who was large in size or needed some kind of ADA accommodation (wheelchair, scooter, crutches, etc.) the bathroom would have been too small.

The hotel is currently undergoing some remodeling and upgrades. All of this was done during the day when I was away so it didn't really impact me. I could get cool air but not cold air from the air conditioner. I did not report it because it just wasn't that big a deal. The best thing of all was Roger the clerk and Linda the lady that maintained the breakfast room. Both were very professional, courteous, helpful and informative. They are two of the nicest people I have met anywhere. Keep up the great work!

Hotel was being remodeled which is understandable, didnt like how it was on a hill though. Parking situation felt a little constricted.

They are currently renovating the outside, so be advised. As for the room: I'm hoping the rooms will be next. They are not in BAD shape, but showing some age. The mattress had some sag, for one thing. Also, the older facilities often have a noisy fan in the bathroom that is TIED TO THE SAME SWITCH AS THE LIGHT, so if you need the light - you have NO CHOICE about the noise of the fan. If you like to listen to the morning news while you get ready in the morning, forget it!
The staff are always wonderful and friendly at this location. I've stayed here many times on business and will again. Great location for Nashville attractions, wonderful staff. Advise you ask for a room on a lower floor, where the road noise from the road coming down the hill will be blocked by the wall around the back parking lot..
One last thing - if you like sausage gravy, it s below average at this location because they thin it down so much! Keep it thick like it's SUPPOSED to be!

We generally stay at HI and this hotel lacked the service. They are under construction & hopefully they will get that complete soon because the area has some less then desirable issues. But we went without towels 2 days and had to beg/borrow towels. 1st incident the staff said they don't have any to give and that always happens and the 2nd time maids just didn't leave us any when cleaning the room, when we asked at front desk again we got the same reponse, they never have enough towels for everyone, not sure why???? Not something I would plan to have to pack when paying for a hotel. The overnight auditor was not helpful and I didnot like how he talked to the staff. If it weren't for Linda in the breakfast area and Roger at the front desk I would have rated this hotel completely poor. I have never felt like this at a holiday inn, I was with a group of ladies for a weeknd getaway and I was a tad embarrassed because I had suggested HI due to their consistently &value.
