I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms seemed to be recently updated and the staff was great.

Everything was excellent except the wireless connection. It was terrible! It was very slow in both the hotel room and in the breakfast room. That's the only complaint. Everything else was great!

I have stayed at this property on a number of occasions and been pleased with staff and services. On all of those stays the internet was easily accessed. This trip the internet access was marginal at best. I only had use of the internet from the business office. When I contacted the desk for help I was provided with an e-mail address - not too helpful without internet access.

This was not quite what we expected. The coupon said it was a new building, which it obviously was not. Stated there was fresh fruit in the morning which there was not. Staff was friendly but no mention about IHG membership or points. The room was clean but the chair to the desk was by no means new as the covering on the seat was falling apart.
So it was not bad, just not quite what we expected.

The room was very nice and the staff was excellent. Good location for my purpose. Breakfast was good, and I had no problems there, except the internet.! The speed of the internet was so slow as to no even being able to use it. In todays Business world it is imperative that we have internet available in our room. A very good hotel but till the wifi problem is fixed I would have to stay somewhere else.

We stay at Holiday Inns whenever possible, so when we had a reunion in the area, I booked it at the special rate months ago. Had a tough go round at that time with a fellow who could not seem to coordinate my priority club # and the reunion rate. So I was expecting to have issues during my stay. Pleasant surprise! The staff was willing, friendly and efficient. The first night we returned after 11 & found no more hot water for tea in the common room. The gal at the desk did not seem to know what to do, so I told her I was sure there should be water in the kitchen...but she must have been new. Shortly after returning to my room, she called to say I was correct; she found the water for my tea! The next night she was also very helpful.
The rooms: individual, breakfast and pool area are larger than most HIE's. Beds were the BEST, Nice selection of easy chairs & TV in good order. We did not have a problem with noise, but we were not present in the early evenings. Found the breakfast room/lounge area great for visiting with classmates. The pool area was clean & temperature fine. My husband had no problems with accessing email in the business center. Did not use WiFi in our room.
Only problem was at breakfast: the attendant had never heard of a bagel cutter! I wanted to slice my English Muffin with something more than a plastic knife! She said she would tell her boss after I told her most HIE breakfast bars have one.
I live too close to promise another stay soon, but I do highly recommend this Newington Holiday Inn Express!

We are going to make frequent trips to Unionville Conn.We always like Holiday Inn but the closest place was half an hour away.We had Priority Club points and decided to try it for one night,then find a closer place.After one night we realized there was no need to look for another.Why take a chance?We'll Be Back!

This is the second res this past week and unfortunately I stayed at HI's, this property was very expensive and the mgr would not take our spec rate, he said with a smile that they were busy and no deals.
My bathroom had no towels and soap fron the "cleaning" the day before, I must admit that I was concerned that the sheets maybe weren't changes as well, a very poor experience overall, will not consider your hotels in the future!
I am a business traveler and book rooms almost weekly, you are out, unfortunately I have a res at the Crown Plaza in Dayton next week.

Room was fine, bathroom sink plunger not working. Breakfast
was a little late most working people would leave for work by 6.30 am. Evening coffee was cold noticed several people reheat in microwave did not complain. I did return despite this and paid for two rooms. My room #s were 303 & 304 I had 303 my friend
had 304 and he had to unplug the refrigerator as it made a noise and made going to sleep difficult.
Please don't reprimand just correct and move forward I would come back if in the area again.

Staff was friendly but didn't go over and above - as guests I like a hotel clerk to make a friendly greeting, ask questions to ensure we don't need directions somewhere, etc., and that did not happen, just checked us in. Bed was excellent - firm and clean - and room/bathroom were very clean. Newspapers always available. Breakfast was average but for the price it was expected. We would recommend staying here and will stay here our next time thru.

HI Express is my usual go to for business and/or pleasure. This property used to be outstanding, but the last few times I've been there I've been really disappointed. It's one of, if not the most expensive place around, and there are many. There is no reason for this, as they don't really offer anything that most of the others also have. In fact, I have to say less.
The cost alone could get you, but it's become very noisy and it's very hard to relax when you can't sleep because children are rioting in the hallways and making prank calls and nobody seems to want to do anything about it.
I always went back for the sake of loyalty to an excellent staff, but everyone that has been so wonderful have moved on so I've found another "getaway" that truly is just that at 1/3 less money and much better facilities/amenities.
Staff is always top notch, and the place is very, very clean. Their housekeeping staff is wonderful. They just need to cut the price, the noise, and add microwaves to the rooms. 1 unit for 3 floors is just........ .and they really need to fix the vending machines. I can't tell you the last time I was there and they actually worked.

Both the check in and check out staff were very courteous. The room and bathroom were very clean. The best part was the comfortable bed and pillows. I had a very restful stay. Would recommend.

Newer building. Clean. Friendly Staff. Only thing I wasn't happen with and it showed in my tip was the care of my room by the housekeeping staff. I travel a lot and am used to coming back to a clean room - which I found, with the exception of the coffee make and some dirty towels I had left on the floor. I will return to this location again and hope the housekeeping staff do a better job. Some healthier breakfast options would be nice too.

Staff was kind of rude, and didn't upgrade the room or give a goody bag as you are supposed to do for platinum plus members.
Motel was clean and nice, and the area was really nice for activities for the kids (gocart tracks, duck pin bowling, laser tag, putt putt, lots of other things).
The motel is a VERY good value. Cheap, clean, indoor pool was surprising warm and nice.
Only real complaint is that the staff wasn't very nice or trained very well.
I would stay there again for the value and nearness to activities for the kids. However, I'd talk with the staff and point out we should be treated better.

Internet didn't work and wasn't fixed after complaining. Room was very dark. Poor breakfast. I stay at hotels approx 125 nights per year, but will never stay again at this location.

The website says that the room sleeps 5 people. We expected two double beds and a pullout couch. Unfortunately, there was no couch. How can you sleep 5 people in two beds?
Also, the hotel literature talked about a laundry. Unfortunately, when we went to do some, we found out that there was none. Very frustrating. I'm a platinum level member and typically have no issues so this was a real disappointment.
The gentleman at the front desk was helpful and had a cot delivered. He apologized for the misinformation on the laundry. He was excellent. Sadly, it was his last night working at the hotel.

Enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and the chairs comfortable. Our bed was very welcoming and the pillows puffy. The breakfast was adequate, and pretty much what I expected since we often stay at HI Express Hotels. It could stand a little improvement.

I should have known when previous to our arrival, I telephoned this location to request that our two room reservation have adjacent or even adjoining rooms and to request since we had reserved two CONSECUTIVE nights (one with points/one without) that we be allowed to stay in same rooms (not deal with checking in and out twice) and rooms be near an exit. The desk clerk who answered phone (Jonathan) was EXTREMELY rude to me and I even asked at one point in conversation if he would like me to book at a different location (only reason chose this particular location was it was closest to family reunion we were attending). He then changed his tone and became more civil. Upon check-in, Jonathan was at the desk and greeted us with a scowl. I gave him our name he practically threw a car info paper at me, I filled it out and noticed a charge for the room which I had paid for with points, I questioned him, he got nasty said computer "did it", I then read further and it wasn't even our name on the form! I gave it back to him, told him it wasn't ours and he threw it on his work area, I asked him to please destroy it, and he said "yeah, when I get to it". He then gave me TWO new forms which were the correct ones. I again asked him to destroy the incorrect sheet and after he stared at me for a good 30 seconds, he ripped it up. Not once did he smile, say thank you or acknowledge us as Priority Club members. Upon entering our rooms after walking down public hallway which were filthy, stained carpeting, not one of our requests were filled. We left our stuff in our rooms and proceeded to our family gathering. Upon return, I tried to get on to internet using free wi-fi with no success, I then got out my laptop and could not get on either. I went to front desk which now had different employee and asked if problem w/wi-fi, he replies 'I don't know". I told him nothing was working and he said I'm no techy, but I could come to your room and check it out-thought rather inappropriate? I declined and went to business center instead where there was NO chair, went back to desk, told him no chair and he goes oh, one I'm using is from there and he put it back into the room (next morning I noticed the desk chair was one from the breakfast area?). Tried to get on their computer and got unable to connect to internet. Returned to desk and told him, he made no further effort to "fix' and said would report it. Next day still did not work and neither did business center computer. Other issues: these are all NO SMOKING rooms, so why when I went to sit on one of the chairs at the table in the room were there ashes all over it? Additionally, the fan in the bathroom was really loud and when I looked up at it, looked like it had not been cleaned since hotel opened. We only stayed one night (thankfully had foresight to change hotels prior to arrival) and when we checked out Jonathan was back with his scowl, did not ask if stay was satisfactory or even thank you, told him about wi-fi and said had few other issues-he totally ignored me. I WASTED points staying here, furthermore I reported the problems privately on website and never even received an email or any type of response. Obviously there must be a lot of issues here. I am sorry I did not heed other poor reviews....if you do not want to waste your points or money, please listen to mine!

Great service by the day desk person, Warren. Breakfast attendants could be a tad more proactive. It was not usually stocked even early morning. The trash was full, the breakast not out on time, or not enough supplies.
Otherwise a comfortable three day visit.

. Last time I stayed about three months ago I found the front staff average and I complained about the lack of HBO, to which the front desk person shrugged. I complained and the management sent me a note that they had HBO and in fact, 4 HBO stations. We stayed in June and they are correct. The staff was warm and friendly. Great place to stay and I will be coming back.

Greeted by Ward when we checked in. On our way out to dinner, we struck up a conversation (my son had an Orioles hat on), very friendly person. At breakfast, Ward was still there. Said he went home for a couple of hours. He was striking conversations with all guests. Never saw that before. This man made our stay .
