We stayed here because we wanted to use the park n fly for our holidays.
When we arrived the lobby was in disarray because of the ongoing renovations. The hotel smelt awful because of all of the fumes from the renovations. Usually when a hotel renovates it closes down sections while it renovates leaving others open and free of debris and fumes. However in someone's intelligent mind they decided to renovate everything at the same time. The lobby is a disaster you are tripping over cords and caulking as well as pails of plaster. The hallway that we had going to our room was full of plaster dust, buckets and walls that were still wet. Not to mention the fumes. Anyone with allergies would have to vacate the premises, it is that bad.
For the price you pay, the full price, it is disgusting. I do not recommend anyone staying here until the renovations are completed.

The staff, particularly one exceptionally friendly and helpful Front Desk Clerk (Alan), ensured that we minimized our complaints about the reno's, noise, and dirty room furniture. Also, the breakfast was excellent (includes fruit which is rare, in our experience) helped make up for this below average experience. It seems that this Holiday Inn has been going through reno's for a couple years. What about a discount? We weren't even able to use the lobby computers because they were covered-up? Also, the rooms are not wearing well and need the furniture upholstery cleaned or replaced. This was a fair experience brought up to acceptable by exceptional staff service. However our patiences is waning with the reno's and other poor room quality.

I stay on a regular bases and am treated very well and always the Hotel gives me the best rooms availableat the given date. Housekeeping does a very good job and I would like to congratulate the staff desk on a excellent job they do when dealing with its customers. I think when they address you by your name they recognize your importance to the Hotel. In summation; my extended work will be ending in June; I will always appreciate how welcome they have made me feel. GOOD JOB HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS STAFF

The front desk clerk was just being trained so was a unorganized and would not let me into my room when the reservation was in my name. My partner was already in the room and she had to call to see if it was ok that I was given a key. Could not figure out how she got into the room with another name than what was on the reservation.
Although the hotel was under renovation it was very quite and the staff were good.
I would recommend this hotel again to anyone staying in the area.

It's the little things that mean a lot when you're travelling. First, from the time I checked in to the time I left - any encounters with the staff were very good.
The room was clean, even though the building was under construction it was clean throughout. If there was anything I would have liked would be a restaurant/lounge in the facility and faster elevators. That said, I was informed of 3 locations to choose from just a short walk across the street.
The breakfast was fantastic - a great set-up. However, the best part of this experience was Judy. She was walking around cleaning, tidying, stocking and talking to her Guests. She and I had a great conversation - what a nice lady! The course of our conversation ended up with me letting her know a friend of mine was looking for a place to move to/live in Calgary and that was posing to be a challenge. Judy offered to make a call or two and get back to me if that was something I'd like. I said yes - and no surprise - she did get back after doing what she could do.
I'm not sure about you - however, I think that's going above and beyond and she repersented herself and Holiday Inn Nisku very well.
I'm moving out West in a month and will be travelling regularly. I'll be staying at your location in Airdrie - I've had a lot of great experiences at your locations so thank you!

I find it annoying you can't close the dark curtains all the way, a hotel, people sleep weird hours - I like it dark. Really liked room but found the washroom wasn't entirely clean and had some problems with front desk staff trying their best, but not being quite up to what I needed.

I like the hotel, location is great. I have stayed at this hotel many times, but the only complaint I have is that internet speeds are incredibly slow to say the least. During the day my computer will function (not quickly but acceptable) )with the internet, but at night it will take 5 to 10 minutes or more to load a webpage. The nature of my profession is travel and therefore I depend on great internet speeds at the hotels that I stay at. I am going to other hotels in the Nisku area to see if they have faster internet speeds. I Like Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, but depend on great internet speeds at said locations. Without that my time is wasted at the hotel trying to accomplish work on the internet.

After sleeping on quite hard beds during our holiday, it was nice to get into a nice comfortable bed. The room was clean and maintained a nice temperature for the night. Our only request would be to have the cleaning staff check the radio before doing anything else in the room when cleaning the room. Without our setting it, the clock radio in our room woke us 2 hours before we were even thinking of getting up. Obviously, the people who slept in the room the night before us, had set the alarm to wake them up very early. With such a nice bed to sleep in, this was a big disappointment to us.
I also thought that we would have had a bigger discount for sleeping in the older part of the hotel that is still under renovation.

The hotel was under construction which didn't bother us at all. We arrived quite late 11:30 pm from a long flight from Cancun and we were recieved quite well however there were 2 elevators to take and we were not told which one to go on and went on the wrong one which took us to and area where our room was not. We had to go back to the front desk and ask were our room was located. We were also very hungry and there was no were around to order food or get food. I had to take a taxi to Mcdonalds to get something to eat at midnight once we settled into our room.

Big gaps between door and threshold allowed all hall noise and door slamming to be heard all night. Because it is an airport location and people start arising at 4 am for their early flights, it is not a place for sleep.
Breakfast selection was good.
Front entryway was cluttered with old bathroom fixtures that were being replaced. Blocked partial access to front door for luggage drop off.

Even under construction, the HI Express in Nisku was clean, quiet and comfortable. The room I stayed in was upgraded with modern decor and had very comfortable bedding. The breakfast was great and the staff was courteous. I will stay again.

Great Location, room renovations are good. The beds are very good, the bathroom could be better. They don't remove the snow from the parking lot and it is difficult to get from the car to the door.
At check-in, the young lady was very helpful. The older short, blonde woman made me feel like I was intruding on her time. The staff could be more customer focused. There are not restaurants nearby.

Although this is a very nice property - the room was great and bed comfortable - the train that comes by ever so often is a problem! The staff hands out ear plugs, however the horn that is tooted before it crosses the road about 50 meters from the hotel walls, will wake up the dead!
If i should stay here again i would request - maybe even demand a room as far away from the train tracks as possible. It was VERY loud and i am a light sleeper as it is.

I was very disappointed with my recent stay at Holiday Inn in Edmonton (near the airport). The room I was given (135, I believe) was extremely cold. The fan came on all during the night. I placed my clothing next to the windows to reduce the draft and it was still not able to stop the draft.
I called the front desk and was told to turn the fan off. That was not a very helpful comment since that would mean turning the heat off and freeze even further.
The truth is I did not sleep all night and came home with a stiff neck and back, just trying to stay warm and lack of sleep just made things worse.
I had stayed at this location before and the experience was more positive.

I was greeted as an IHG Gold member. For that I received a small bag with a couple of cookies and twol old caramels that had leaked out of the wrappers and then re-solidified. On entering my room i noticed it was extremely cold. Heater did not work so I called the front desk to ask for a new room and was told no, that I should wait and someone would be there to fix it. I put my coat back on and sat and waited. The guy fixed it but it had to be on or off. I asked for a new room and repacked. They could have brought the key up but no I had to drag my luggage to the front desk, grab the key then go back up to the room.
Just not sure they get the whole concept of customer service although the senior person on staff apologised profusely.
This was the final night of what proved to be a rough week in IHG properties.

Excellent value. A wonderful beginning to a stressful trip. Close to airport and great shuttle service. Ability to have car safe while we were gone made the trip much easier.

The hotel facilities were near perfect but the services-especiaally the room cleaning was poor. My room was never well cleaned and sometimes I find foreign objects on my bed! The room cleaning crew need to do a better job.
