I booked this room via the mobile app earlier in the day of July 6th. Their computers are not connected to IHG apparently, because they had our reservation under my old name and all the old information and then tried to convince me the problem was within the IHG rewards system and I needed to contact them (I know this is not the case because my information was correct at every other HIE we stopped at). We were finally assigned a room and when we arrived in the room it was quite warm, but I assumed this was due to the air not running while no one was in there. We turned it down to cool and left to go eat dinner. After several hours it was still 83 in the room and eventually the AC turned off altogether. We called down to the desk and the young man said he would ask someone what to do and call us back. 30 minutes later we finally went down to the desk. He was helping another party whose reservation also could not be found (they ended up going to another hotel). Another man came in during this time and helped him to sort out the mess - they didn’t know who was where or which room as vacant, which was alarming to the point we were cautious and knocked on the door of our new room because after the fiasco at the desk we weren’t confident that this room was vacant. During the half hour or so it took us to get this squared away it was relayed to me that the earlier clerk (April) was not supposed to give out the room she gave us because there was a known problem with the AC.
Interestingly enough - the bill came the next morning with a printed sheet asking that you contact the Operations Manager prior to writing a review if you were not completely satisfied. So, after returning home I sent the Operations Manager an email. To my surprise the reply came from the clerk who gave us the room with the faulty AC, who is apparently now the Operations Manager. I asked why she would give us a room in which she knew the AC was broken, but she did not address that in her reply. She did say that their computer system was not linked with anyone else - I don't understand why they wouldn't be linked with IHG.
On the positive side, the breakfast was good and the staff in the breakfast area were great.

our stay was fine. Like I said before the halls and elevator where quite dirty. The carpets where very dirty.

Though I arrived later in the evening, the evening staff member was cheerful and helpful with my requests and preferences. I was able to get a good night rest and able to leave to continue my travel on time in the morning.

Our experience from the day we arrived to the day we left was excellent. Our rooms were a nice size and very clean. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The indoor pool was open to a nice patio with tables and chairs.

I've had pretty positive experiences with Holiday Inn in the past. Unfortunately, I believe this particular location takes for granted the lack of competition in the area and doesn't put forth the effort to meet expectations set by other locations.
