Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable and Convienient Nice hotel. A bit spendy for the quality of the experience. Rooms are comfortable but a bit musty smelling. Pool and Whirlpool are nice and fairly clean. Breakfast is OK. You can only eat powdered eggs for so long, but not bad. What I can give them 5 stars for is the extra effort one of their people take to put breakfast out at 5:30 instead of 6 a.m. This really helps me as I usually have to leave for work very early in the morning and would not get breakfast if she hadn't put it out early. I stay at this hotel twice a month for several days each. If they could get that musty smell out of the rooms I would rate them a little higher. Overall it's quite, comfortable and relaxing. One other thing...fix the cable. It loses connection or something from time to time and you have to shut the TV off and back on to "reset" it. March 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exercise Room Needs Attention Overall the hotel is a nice and comfortable place to stay. However, if you like to use the exercise facilities, you will be less than satisfied with your stay. The LifeCycle machine does not like to work and the treadmill's screen does not function. There are a couple of elliptical machines and a weight machine. They are fine but since I really prefer the LifeCycle, it is disappointing that it does not work. I've brought this to the attention of the front desk several times but to no avail. The machines should be repaired or replaced. When you rely on your hotel to provide exercise facilities, this place disappoints. March 2, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sturgeontime Excellent place to stay when in Oshkosh. Was there in mid Feb 2015 for a working weekend, staff was great, breakfast decent in choices and happy hour in the commons area was a treat! February 18, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worse experience I have ever had at a Holiday Inn Express We went just for a weekend road trip planning on spending some time in the area and then relaxing at the hotel with our son. Of course, as most children do he was highly anticipating his pool time. During our first attempt we were going to sit in the hot tub while he played in the pool. The pool area was taken over by a birthday party of 15 kids within 10 minutes of us arriving. It was sooo loud and far too many kids for such a small pool. The were two other families present that were also pretty pushed out of the pool by the party. So we decided to leave and go get dinner and do the pool later. When we went back around 8 pm we were there again for about 10 minutes and the group returned (approx 12 kids this time), the children were lining up at the edge of the pool and jumping in as a chain. Again forcing my children and the children of another family present out of the pool. My husband went to the front desk and explained what was happening and asked for assistance. He was told by the front desk staff that there was nothing she could do about it. When he pushed her to at least come to the pool to see what was going on, she went down with him and then just stood there watching it. I asked her why she wasn't doing anything and she told me she wasn't allowed to do anything. So I said, "OK, I will address it with the one adult present." I addressed it with the parent that she was allowing these children to push all other hotel guests out of the pool. Not the mention the unbearable noise because no-one was asking the children to control their screaming. Of course, minimum response or result. So my issue is as a children loving adult, I get it and want them all to have fun, is why would the hotel sacrifice the happiness of at least 5 families for one group of children who weren't interested in being return guests. Would it not have been better to address the one guest (not certain is the hotel rented the pool time or if the women actually rented one room) and risk 1 unhappy guest versus all the other guests also trying to use the benefits of the pool area. The other guest that was present when I tried to help the situation actually approached me and told me he was grateful I tried to help since his children were also being pushed out of the pool. Wrong that the guests were being left to deal with what was clearly a hotel issue to manage!!!! I have never written a bad hotel review and I am a well traveled adult. This Holiday Inn is definitely letting down the chain name and not doing themselves any service as a chance for return business from any adult involved in this situation is most certainly no likely.
