Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unprofessional clerk and very uncomfortable bed Upon checking in, I attempted to give the clerk my Priority Club card number. She wrote the number down on a notepad. Prior to checking out, I found that the number had not been entered into the system. The manager entered the number and informed me that I could not get point credit for the two rooms that I had paid for; however, I would get credit for one room. Upon checking my account, I find that I received no points. The hotel is very inconveniently located with extremely limited access to eating or entertainment. It is several blocks from the nearest bus stop. The bed was without doubt the worst that my wife and I have ever slept on. For a new hotel, they really cut corners on the bed. Everything else in the room was satisfactory. June 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best value for money hotel in Oxford Area I was in Oxford for a day and was recommended to stay at this hotel. Even though it is a mid-range hotel, the room was premium. It was good value for money as it is rare have a premium hotel room for a mid range price. Room was nice and clean, shower room was too good to be true. At Breakfast time, we were treated to a wide range of meals available, I was spoilt for choice. Finally there is one thing to remember. To get there from centre of Oxford, you either take bus 5 (from New Road bus stops) or bus 12 (Gloucester Green bus stops). Bus 5 takes you to Pergasus Road and its a 7 min walk to the hotel at Grenoble Road. Bus 12 takes you to Grenoble Road, but it is less frequent at very 30 to 40 mins. To have a dinner, there are lots of nearby restaurants including a fish and Chps shop about 5 min walk near the Vue cinema building. June 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kassam Stadium A very basic to spartan Holiday Inn Express with not a lot going for it except being next to the Stadium. Everything looks cheap about the place and no corner has been left uncut in the decoration and furnishings. It is well out of town with no surrounding amenities and is suitable for a one night stay if you have nowhere else to go. Fairly close to the local sewage plant if you happen to work there. On the plus side it was clean and looked faily new. May 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but far away from Oxford This place was great for us as we were part of a large cycling group who needed a place to stay. They were very accomodating in allowing ups to place our bikes in the meeting rooms overnight. The place is far from Oxford, but close by the stadium, so as long as you aware aware of that you are fine. Breakfast is as expected (good but limited), rooms are clean and good. It's a 3 star hotel, and probably deserves that - as long as you are ok with that you won't be disappointed. April 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent value This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this hotel and can honestly say it is excellent value for money. The staff are lovely, the rooms and general areas are well kept and clean and it is only a short taxi ride into Oxford centre. April 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing , poor service 2 singles rather than 1 double. Am a platinum member, visit holiday inns every week, this was the worst one I have ever stayed in. Unhelpful staff, shower that did not work correctly, well overpriced. April 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great room, shame about the breakfast Room very well-equipped, modern and comfortable which we were quite pleased with. However, we were not so pleased with the breakfast experience - no 'greeter' to explain how things worked, layout poor, hot breakfast was only sausage, scrambled egg and beans - no bacon, fried egg, tomatoes, mushrooms etc. Would be better if they had option of no breakfast - this was included in room rate but would sooner have eaten breakfast at Frankie & Benny's!!
