This time was really an exceptional stay - rest and relaxation and staff all acknowledging our Special Day - a wonderful time around the water on Catawba Island and Marblehead Peninsula. We would not even think of spending it any other place. August 30, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Would never stay there again We have always been a fan of Holiday Express but we have now decided, we're done. My wife has a bad back and the past 2-3 years, we've noticed the breakdown of the beds and them not being replaced. Also the bed covers are poor. Need more substance/thickness if you aren't going to provide blankets. The pillows are all mush. They also need replaced. There was a sign out front advertising "help wanted" and so we knew they were short on staff. When we came back from being at Put in Bay for the day, our room still had not been serviced. #We stayed 2 days.# We were on the 2nd floor, took the stairs down to the breakfast area, and there was sticky syrup still on the stairs from the night before. #They offer free pancakes after 8pm.# We noticed other areas that had not been cleaned. Most ridiculous of all...when we went to check-out, there were no more luggage carts in the lobby and I knew there were at least 3 sitting there from the day before. We waited a while after breakfast but none were returned to the lobby. So we went up to our room and collected all the things that we could easily carry and went down to the car. We saw a cleaning lady with boxes on a luggage cart. REALLY? During the peek time for check-out!! We did report it to the desk clerk when we turned in our keys. The gentleman behind us chimed in about no luggage carts and also how areas were not cleaned. He told the lady he would never stay there again. Although we didn't say it to the clerk, we also will never stay there again. My wife firmly said we're done with Holiday Express mostly for the break down of beds, coverings and pillows. FYI - the next night we stayed in Dundee, MI at a different hotel #better pricing# and wonderful beds/covers/pillows. I believe we are probably done with your hotel because we can find better quality for better rates. Sorry, just keeping it real. August 24, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and excellent location. Was very pleased and satisfied with our stay here. Have stayed here several times in the past. The staff is excellent. Can't say enough good about them. We had a few minor problems in the beginning and they were resolved within 10 minutes. (Battery was dead in the remote) (the refrigerator didn't work) they brought us a new refrig. and remote. Very happy with the concern and care they took. I loved the pillows but my husband didn't. Just depends on the individual I guess. We needed info for Put in Bay and they gave us a huge amount of good advice. We took the shuttle over to get on the Jet express. They gave us coupons for money off at area restaurants and also the jet express. Will definitely go back and stay here again. August 19, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Most expensive hotel in the area Hotel looks very nice on the outside and even when you first walk in, however the rooms are dirty, breakfast room is dirty and swimming pool and hot tub are disgusting. Way over priced for the quality of the hotel. August 17, 2015
