Maybe it was the the curb appeal, or the 7 deer I saw as I drove in, or the southwestern lobby decor. But to top it off with the great staff and excellent room. Travel Tip: don't stay north in Trinidad or south in Las Vegas. Trust me The Holiday Inn in Raton will exceed your expectations . April 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fully Accessible After 3 days on the road and only 2.5 hours from home, your hotel was a 'port' in the storm' #snow storm that is#. My husband has no use of his legs and uses a power wheelchair. We travel with a hoyer lift and a shower chair. We, therefore, need a bed which is open underneath for the legs of the hoyer to go under the bed as we lower him into bed at night and in order for him to bathe, we must have a roll in shower. I always make, and try to block, an accessible room which meets our needs well in advance of our travel dates. This time, however, stormy weather caused us to 'play it by ear' on our trip home from the east coast. What a relief and surprise to find your hotel in Raton which had an available room with ALL the amenities we require and on the first floor too. #I worry about rooms on upper floors in case of fire. I would much rather we evacuate on our own without having to wait to use the elevator until firemen arrive to take us down#. I have come to expect the very highest standards in comfort and cleanliness from Holiday Inn Express, but to have all our special needs met as well was such a blessing to 3 weary travelers. Also, my compliments to your decorator! The lobby and all the rooms were beautiful and unique. March 30, 2013

We love the breakfast buffett and also love the snack buffett at dinner time. Rooms are very clean and smell sanitized!! Thank you for all you do to make our stay comfortable!! March 27, 2013

We loved our experience here, we made the point to come back and stay on our way back home again. Ms. Annie in breakfast/snack room made us feel very welcome in a new place. March 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel! We were on our way to Vail and were caught in a snow storm that closed the interstate. All local hotels were booked but we were eventually contacted back that they had a cancellation! Everyone at this hotel was very, very friendly and helpful. There were many other families in the same situation and with a packed breakfast room, the staff was so good at restocking the breakfast items with a smile & a kind word. We left with a good night sleep and a full belly. Thank you!!! March 18, 2013

Despite the fact the the hotel was totally booked (due to a snowstorm), the servers did a great job trying to keep up with all the customers at breakfast. Room was clean. Unusual, but there was no recognition (or treat given) for my priority club status. March 17, 2013
