Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service We stayed here for a friends wedding. Can't fault it at all. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spacious and clean and had air conditioning which was a bonus as the temperature's soured. Excellent value for money would definitely highly recommend. We have stayed in Marriot hotels and other than a gym and swimming pool there was very little difference except the price! July 19, 2013

Great bathrooms with ultra spacious showers, extras such as hairdryers, tea and coffee making, wi-fi provided. Also breakfast was much better than expected - a full range and hot options. highly recommended - we will be back July 18, 2013

Reception staff were very friendly and rooms were very comfortable with great air conditioning. The food in the restaurant was very good and as single diner I was made to feel very relaxed and looked after. Would definitely stay here again. Complimentary wifi was a Fantastic bonus. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good hotel Always helpful, very nice staff. Room is good and spacious too, modern, very clean, air conditioning and all :). Dinner seems to be very good quality, too. Tried the curry last week was very nice, this week had hamburger and lasagne both good. The only downside is breakfast: only sausage, scrambled egg and beans (I only mean cooked english breakfast. There are, of course, the usual cold stuff (fruits) and rabbit food (cereals) and pastries but I don't eat those). I really miss the bacon and the fried egg, though. Maybe even tomato and hash brown would be nice :). The other thing is the internet, I like to watch things on the internet instead of telly and it takes ages sometimes (I prefer cable connection, but most of these places now only have wifi :S, shame it's not an option), but to be fair, for general internet usage it's not bad at all. In fact, I have been in other Holiday Inn where it kept stopping each night, this is my second week here and so far didn't even have to call reception to reset the router :). June 26, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Power Failure I notified the hotel during my booking process that I was going to be late, approximately 10.00pm, but arrived at 9.35. I asked if the resturant was still open, but was informed they had just closed 9.30pm, I asked what time the pub just across thew road was serving food until and was informed 10.30. I chequed in, quickly dropped my bag off in my room and walked to the pub only to be informed they had stopped serving food at 10.00pm, it was only 10.05pm! I returned to the hotel to have a quick pint, but was then told they didn't have draught, I thought it's not my day. The next evening when I returned from work, all the power went off in my room and only my room! I reported the incident and the hotel staff did offer me another room, but thought no I'm sure it will be back on and I'm away tomorrow from my nightmare stay. The power did eventually come back on at approximately 11.30pm, I was so glad to leave Rotherham. No I won't be returning, not much around the area, recently built up area. June 23, 2013

The downside for me was that the windows do not open, so reliant on air conditioning which I do not like to sleep in. The hotel information was not clear on this. I would not have booked had I known so, on that basis, I won`t be staying again. June 17, 2013

Then came the time to retire to our room, WHAT A FANTASTIC ROOM. -- Clean, very well decoratedand very comfortable. Our overall experience was of total satisfaction. The staff were welcoming and efficient and managed the extra demands of a wedding, so that it did not impact too much on other guests. We enjoyed a pleasant walk around the reservoirs nearby, and a trip to Conisborough Castle. We appreciated the room being ready for us, including our children, but a double duvet would be better on the sofa bed. The complimentary breakfast was very welcome and included a wide choice. Loads of parking an without doubt the best breakfast in a HI express i have ever had, compliments to the chef who kept everything fresh and well topped up. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than usual HiExpress This hotel still bears the traces of its former life as a Park Inn and consequently has bigger beds and rooms than the normal HiExpress. It is however considerably cheaper than the Park Inn ever was. Spacious bar and large enough breakfast area were good but only one lift still working (has it ever worked?). Nearby Aldi and Marston's pub very useful. Three small quibbles: marking on entrance to car parking needs to be cleared to stop two cars blocking both entrance lanes (or use further entrance point#, and toaster needs to have bread put through twice to change colour, and lastly, need small plates and knives for toast/croissants, butter and jam as only large #cold) plates and no spare knives supplied. Everything was very straightforward and exactly as described. The hotel is fairly new (I stayed in April 2013) and benefits from everything appearing clean and not run down or in need of a lick of paint. Overall very good value. April 14, 2013

I have been served a burger only 25% cooked when I took a bite blood ran out, I have had a bacon stake which was raw in the middle and fried eggs which were not fit for consumption, given the price I expect my food to at least be cooked. As per previous visits, checking in was flawless and rooms are very good. However, I am surprised that the beer is more expensive than London HI's at nearly £4 a pint!!!! And when the resturant is busy the bar service does seem to suffer!! Overall a nice stay. March 13, 2013

The rooms are well equipped and spotlessly clean and the restaurant alongside was very convenient.. Overall, the hotel represented good value. We would not hesitate in using it again. January 3, 2013
