Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room, great bedding, air conditioning worked wonders! My husband and I were traveling through on a business trip, and stopped in Salem for the night. I had recently had shoulder surgery so the quality of the bed was important to me. As always, HIE gave us a clean, comfortable room with everything we needed to rest and recoup for the next leg of our trip. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was terrific. In addition to the great bed, I especially appreciated the good air conditioning as it was hot and getting comfortable during the day was a challenge. Thanks, HIE Salem for giving us a good night. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unfriendly Staff The staff was rude and condescending when dealing with our group. A staff member informed us that she was going to call the police and that we were all going to get hauled off to jail. As we tried to talk to a staff member she kept walking out on us and had the asst manager come in. She too was rude and snarky. One parent finally got her to listen to what he had to say and she admitted that they had handled the situation poorly. Well we won't be staying here ever again. June 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff and Clean Hotel! My only complaint: The pool was not open until Sunday before Memorial Day. Very disappointing to not have use of the pool on summer's "opening weekend". This information should have been provided upon booking the reservation. June 8, 2016

The overall quality of the hotel is worthy of 5 stars. Comfortable rooms, well appointed with pillow choices (firm or soft) that helped provide a good night's sleep. June 7, 2016
