Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stay experience I am glad to say that my stay in Holiday Inn Express was a very memorable one. This was my first ever visit to the US so I was a bit worried about a lot of things including stay. Couple of days afterwards, stay was the least of my concerns! Location: Located at a very prime spot this Hotel is well connected by public transport. So for me it was ideal as I was without a car for 2 months and I could catch the VTA front right in front of the hotel. Also with many surrounding restaurants, lots of good options to eat too! Room: I would say the rooms are very good and well equipped with everything you require. Even if you forget some toiletries, they are provided for. Covers and Linens replaced everyday. And a big TV makes for a super stay. Room Service: The service is very prompt and carried out everyday religiously without fail. I would personally like to thank the room cleaning staff for the excellent work they do! Every evening returning to the hotel room was a joy as everything is taken care of! They are the engine room and they deserve some good recognition Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast is something I used to look forward to! Spoilt for choices I guess. Variety of eateries to select from! So even if a stay is as long as 2 months, I could do permutations between different types of food. Good! Front Desk: I would personally like to congratulate the Front Desk team for doing a fabulous job! Extremely approachable and a joy to talk to. I got to know a lot of good things like to-do's and dont's by talking to them. All queries were promptly handled. Few special mentions. 1. Vanity - Thank you for your prompt leadership to help me getting re-checked in after some problems with Intel authorities regarding dates. She took this up and got the stay preponed by a day and I did not have to face any problems. Also for all the good tips about what to do and places to visit. Really appreciate it! 2. Salinee - Thank you for being there and getting all my silly queries answered! Congratulations on the promotion :) 3. Jessica, Lizvet - Thank you for all the tips, to-do's and dont's! All the very best! Scope for improvement: 1. The room which I stayed 235, had a weak Wi-Fi signal problem. I spoke with people from room 335 and they had a similar problem. I would request you to get an additional signal booster set up to provide Wi-Fi signal drops especially in handhelds. 2. I would also like the front desk to be a bit more informed for medical assistance to travelers, like nearest hospitals, clinics. They are the first line of approach and in case of emergencies I guess right now I do not find them ready to handle it. May 21, 2013

You have go to out and then back in to get into an elevator or cross the whole Hotel to reach the other one. It also lacked good food options as suggestions for the guests even though there are lots of restaurants around that deliver. No snack machines, only drink machines and no snacks available for purchase on the lobby. May 20, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good staff, minor issues with room The good: Staff was very helpful. I ran out of toothpaste. Holiday Inn normally stocks toothpaste at the desk, but they had run out. However, instead of sending me away empty handed, the desk clerk gave me a small travel toothpaste from her personal stock. That's service. The hotel is close to 101 and very convenient to many tech companies. The expected: The hotel was clean and the room was in-line The bad: The property is on El Camino, which never really sleeps. I had a street facing room. I'm a light sleeper, and one night a loud person on the street (drunk? probably) woke me up at 4am. Eventually he stopped ranting and I went back to sleep. The room refrigerator had a noisy compressor. I unplugged it. May 6, 2013

The check-in was quick and efficient even though I arrived early, the staff were pleasant and attentive. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Rapid check-out was a breeze. I have stayed in a few Holiday Inns and this is one of the best run and best maintained. May 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect hotel for business in the valley The hotel is conveniently located on major road with easy parking, so it is easy to get around if your are on business in the valley. There is a supermarket in walking distance, and a fair amount of places to eat. The rooms are very clean and large, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast has a good selection of food, although it shuts down early at 9:30 am. There is a open air pool and a hot whirlpool, which is nice to relax in the evening. The free wireless internet was a bit overloaded, but you can use the wired jacks with your laptop for better speed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. April 21, 2013

In addition to a very comfortable, clean, nice smelling room, the reception staff were great. They were professional, relaxed, never made you feel hurried and were most helpful in directing us to local places for coffee and food. Clean enviorment, pool and work out room, free internet, wide range of channel choices. LOVE Indian Channels Negative: in addition to glasses for water, you are still keeping plastic cups - get rid of them - be environment friendly. Your range of sweetner choices - they are all in a platic bag - if i only use Spelnda, what happens to the rest? Instead keep a little box with sugar, splenda, and other choices separately, so there is no waster. Can you please add showtime in channel choices? April 13, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and comfort room I chose this hotel for its location which was quite close from my company. Overall I'd like to give 4 out 5. The best was my clean room and bed. Unlike others I couldn't find any dust from my bed which was very impressive. Additionally, being in the middle of El camino real, I could walk to various restaurants cafes there at night. However, its breakfast was disappointing. Even though they tried to serve some types of foods their quality was below the bar. No fruite other than bananas, Breads seemed a couple of weeks old, And all the foods were not arranged. March 31, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel for business trip, but losing relevance While I still like the Holiday Inn's proximity to my employer's headquarter, I feel that There are three major things that should be fixed: - Double-paned windows to keep out the street noise in the rooms that are exposed to the streets - Proper heating systems for the winter months (and no, the dated airconditioning doesn't suffice, it is horribly noisy) - Re-establish Shuttle service (I do not usually drive a car) Other than that, I like the overwhelming friendliness and service attitude of the staff, and the good breakfast - but if above is not fixed, I might have to consider another hotel in the medium to long run. There was no safe box in the room. Breakfast is free and the choices are nice (there is even steamed rice). There are no lunch/dinner served, but there are many restaurants nearby. Wireless Internet access is provided, but it is not stable. Sometimes the speed is OK, sometimes it is really slow. March 25, 2013

Price is lower than other hotels' in the area (and it includes breakfast+parking+WiFi), staff is friendly and helpful, rooms & hotel are clean and quiet.... There is no fancy lobby or bar on site, but if you don't want pay an extra $100+/day for such amenities, you won't find a better hotel in the area. I'll stay there again. March 24, 2013

They followed up with me on a possible third night stay that was not required, but the staff being proactive was very good to see. The room was very clean. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK place to stay--bring slippers. I typically stay in HIX's when I travel, maybe quarterly or so. Compared to other HIX's, I felt this one was not nearly as well-kept as most of them I've frequented. Carpets were sticky--I know you can't shampoo them all the time, but still....they were pretty sticky. I just wore shoes all the time, and tried not to think about it. Still, I've never seen this. And, I'll never understand why a Thursday is so much more expensive than a Fri/Sat, almost double, but whatever, not my business. Staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful. Parking was always adequate. I'd stay there again--breakfast was great too. Just bring slippers. --T March 20, 2013
