Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very disappointed This hotel was not what I would expect from the brand name of Holiday Inn Express. Two nights previously we had stayed at two Holiday Inn Express Hotels and enjoyed the experience. This hotel was not only old but not well keep. There was long black hair on the floor in the bathroom the mattress pads barely covered the mattresses and they were covered with hair and there was a sock on the floor in the corner of the room. I couldn't wait to leave, the next night we stayed at another brand hotel. I can't recommend this hotel. March 2, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Experience in Monterey Holiday Inn Express I stated my feelings earlier in the survey. I would recommend to the Holiday Inns general management to train the initial people who take the reservation to give accurate and complete pricing, including all taxes and other charges when quoting the final price. For this particular hotel, have the housekeeping trained to check everything in the room, not just those areas that are visible, such as ample hangers, and the refrigerator. The constant blinking of the message light on the telephones was an annoyance even after reporting it to the front desk I have stayed in many Holiday Inns across the country and have never had any reason to write a report such as this one.. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room It was first time staying at Holiday Express. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The vanity are was a little small but the shower was great. Good variety for breakfast too. The front desk ladies were friendly and helpful too. I would stay there again. February 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very clean room with a very comfortable bed. This is a great property. Good value and clean with a full breakfast included. The pool and hot tub were also clean and well kept. The location of the property is good and attractions such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, fishermans warf and cannery row are just a short easy drive. Staff is professional and friendly. I recommend this property and would stay here again during future visits February 23, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff but Horrilbly Uncomfortable Establishment I will start with a positive. The staff was very helpful and kind. However, the rooms are crowded , uncomfortable and noisy. There was a leaky toilet and no room to move around. Very overpriced and the food was the worst continental breakfast I have ever had. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hello My stay was great.... My only complaint would be the bathroom. It was extremely SMALL!!! If I had know the toilet/shower area was going to be that TINY I would have paid more or requested a different room. Extremely disappointed with that. I don't understand how someone of a larger size would be able to walk in, close the door, and or shower. Also the entire floor gets wet when you shower because there's only a piece of glass on one side/half of the shower. I had to use the bathroom with the door open because the space was just so TINY!! I think in the future when a customer is booking a room they should let the customer know how small the bathroom is. February 19, 2015
