Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good sleep I've stayed here maybe 10 times in the last two years, and apart from the difficulty parking because the car park is very small, it is normally a pretty average experience. Nothing special, but a convenient (next to Slough train station and Tesco), clean, and generally no hassle stay. This time wasn't the case. Room 411 had a loud sound of water running from inside the wall above the door when I arrived at 10:30pm. I thought it was the shower from the room above. An hour later it was still on so I called reception to change rooms. No rooms, the hotel was full. Okay, there's nothing that can be done other than check-out and I was too tired for that. So a sleeping pill and ear plugs was the solution. I was woken up at 4am with the plumbing noise. Upon check-out (the noise was still going when I left the room at 7:30am) I mentioned it to the receptionist. She called the manager. He was all apologies and offered me 1200 free points. Hmm, I said that I don't think I should have to pay as I didn't sleep last night, that is the purpose of a hotel room. No couldn't do that, I had to pay. I paid, but you know, as a Gold card holder, I thought maybe compensating me with 1200 points was a little weak. Don't really know what 1200 points costs Holiday Inn, or what it is really worth to me. Probalby not a lot in either case. For me, this was not a crisis, things go wrong sometimes, but mostly they go right. The real issue is how it was handled by the manager. Writing off one nights fee would not bankrupt the hotel, and would have acknowledged they did not fulfill a fairly basic expectation of service - a quiet room to sleep in. You can decide for yourself what was fair compensation. January 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Yes Im a fan of Holiday Inn Slough We had a lovely stay from 10-13 Jan '14 visiting family & friends in the area, we will definitely be back. Excellent value for money, we used taxi's & trains only. There's no shortage of places to eat, shop, walk or just chill in Slough. We had a perfectly adequate free breakfast each day. Cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, tea coffee. There was also a choice of sausages & scrambled egg if we had wanted something cooked. We enjoyed our daily complimentary newspaper We had a drink at the bar on each evening but didn't have any meals at the hotel. Our room was warm & cosy with everything we needed. Best of all the staff (especially Aran) are so cheerful, helpful and welcoming, it felt more like a family run hotel. January 18, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and helpful staff A super location for exploring Windsor, Slough and London! We hit the sales and let the train take the strain. The staff on arrival were helpful and accommodating and throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble. We had been concerned about being disturbed by the trains as we were so close to the station but there was no problem. The bed was ok but a little 'springy' probably exaggerated by the tossing and turning inspired by rather noisy excitable young guests which greatly disturbed the first night. The duty manager did eventually manage the situation well and the second night was perfect! January 8, 2014

Spent 3 nights with our 2 sons to visit London to see and feel the atmosphere of Christmas.Always handy having the station next door and the railway staff also advised us on best priced tickets. Good breakfast each morning and staff all lovely and helpful when asked for things. Family friends came along too for their first time and enjoyed it too!. We will come back again. Car park is not big enough but other car parks are within walking distance. We will definitely stay again. Breakfast is free and adequate. December 31, 2013

Got to my room and I have to say for the price I paid it was very clean the room temp was to a comfortable level. bed was very comfortable had a 100% nights sleep. December 24, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2 night stay family returning for Christmas Arrived straight from airport. Before returning home. Staff helpful and pleasant. Had meal in evening reasonable cost and choice for children . Free breakfast but would have liked bacon instead of sausage, and fried eggs instead scrambled. Room was fine except I asked for room with bath which we did not get, but we were too tired to ask to move with lots of luggage.went into London ideal location as train station around corner. Left luggage 2 day so we could return to London. All in all would return December 23, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of parking, noisy We arrived at around 10pm and did not find any parking in the small car park. The barrier was open so everyone could have parked here. I managed to check-in just before a bus group and the staff member took his time serving me. I was not acknowledged as a Platinum IHG member but was treated with respect and friendliness. The room was a typical HIE room with the mattresses slightly too soft for my liking. The big disappointment were other guests which were banging doors after midnight and the building works next to the hotel, of which we were unaware and which woke us too early on a Saturday morning. The breakfast was the typical HIE affair, nothing to write home about but it served us well enough for an hour or two. Would I return - not sure. I think I would book another HIE or another group hotel next time due to the lack of parking and noise issues. (The train station is next to the hotel.) December 10, 2013

Free wifi access. hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities in room. Breakfast (on weekends at least) is comprehensive and generous. Staff friendly and helpful Negatives: Has a very small car park. There is some limited provision for free parking on the adjacent street but otherwise the nearby overflow car park is charged. December 5, 2013

The hotel was very difficult to find, even went the the Holiday Inn and was given the wrong address. Very little parking. Don't understand why hotels don't have enough parking. Breakfast was ok. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Thank you for great help from friendly and helpful staff I was checked in to a room with a partition door between guest rooms. Unfortunately, guest next door was speaking very loudly and even smoked inside his room. This made my room also became smoky. So i called the reception and one of the staff on-duty (Alex) was very responsive and came up to our rooms to talk to the respective guests regarding the non-smoking policy in the hotel. However, since i am pregnant, I could't stand the smoke and requested for a change of room. Before knowing that i am pregnant, Alex kindly told me that the hotel was fully booked and it's difficult for him to arrange another room for me. However, when i explained to him my special needs, he immediately tried to check and re-arrange another room for me. He even helped me to transfer all my belongings to the new room, which was very kind of him. Eventually i have had a good sleep in my newly arranged room and stayed well for the night. Thanks for the kind consideration and help on the night. Also, the hotel is perfectly located just 30 sec from Slough Train Station. Super convenient. November 27, 2013

Comfy, well-appointed, clean rooms, good beds, showers well up to the job, and decent wifi. Breakfast is basic but with a choice of hot and cold food, and more than adequate. Not only did they manage an early check in but also some breakfast on arrival. Will definitely use holiday inn express again and hope all staff are of the same quality. As for the hotel - it was clean, warm and a hotel!! What else could you ask for? November 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Refreshingly Nice for an Holiday Inn I have stayed in many Holiday Inn hotels and this is hands down the most refreshing experience. Bright, Colourful, Clean and welcoming. It was not the busiest but staff were friendly and helpful. Food from restaurant was very surprising, very tasty and decent value, good choice for kids too. Room was ok, Kids do not stay in hotels much but they loved the novelty and although it was tightish, there was enough room considering we were just there for 1night. Good value and would definitely visit again if we were to visit LEGOLAND. Big downside is parking though! November 13, 2013

The breakfast choice was very poor - sausages,scrambled eggs and beans only - tinned grapefruit as fruit or bananas only. Very disappointing as I often really enjoy holiday express inn. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stop over Stayed here with family for 2 nights before flying from Heathrow to New York then again for a one night stop over on our return journey. Both stays great experiences. Friendly staff, helpful and courteous at all times. Clean rooms and public areas. Comfortable bedrooms. We were a little concerned about noise from train line but no problems - first stay on second floor and had rooms front and back of hotel, 2nd stay floor 8 overlooking train line. Cracking sleep both stays. Free breakfast - good variety of choices every morning and not busy when we stayed. We ate in restaurant - simple food which was perfectly adequate - staff accommodated all our needs when we checked in with 10 minutes before restaurant closed. Any nearer the train station and you would be sleeping on the platform so perfect for a journey stop over. We will definitely use this hotel again for Heathrow flights. November 6, 2013
