Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not close enough to T5 and poor rooms Unfortunately our stay at this hotel started badly with a 40 pound taxi ride from Heathrow T5 and went downhill from there. Our main reason for booking the hotel was to have a comfortable night before an early flight from T5 in the morning. The air conditioning in our room had a fault and although the staff tried to help with 2 fans the room was too hot for comfortable sleep and the window would not open. The complementary breakfast did not open until 6:30am which would be ridiculous for an 'airport' hotel - which clearly this hotel is not - more of a 'roundabout near Slough' hotel. July 29, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient Airport Hotel We stayed at this hotel twice in July prior to flights at Heathrow. It is well located with on-site parking and easy access to rental car drop off points. The room was very quiet with a quiet air conditioning unit. The hair dryer by the mirror in the living area was smart thinking and provision of an ironing room was of value. The double bed in both rooms was poor as it sagged to the centre. Mixing bathroom and living room light switches on the living room side and putting a glass panel in the bathroom door is guaranteed to annoy your partner when you get up at night! The staff were keen to please but struggled with their English so there were a few misunderstandings. July 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Frühstück Schönes Hotel mit großen, sauberen Zimmern aber ziemlich schlimmem Frühstück. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Distance from Hesthrow All was well with this hotel but it may not suit everyone as it involves a bus connection from Heathrow which costs ten pounds per person return! This adds a significant amount to the cost of the hotel for a couple. A taxi costs 35 pounds one way standard charge! July 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely comfy bed and pillows This was a really short over night stay, but the wine was chilled, the staff were friendly and the bed was VERY comfortable!! July 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient Convenient for our needs, but considering the price i paid, approx £90 a room, i was surprised that how much of an express service it really was. We had a wedding to attend, so lots of luggage etc, so our initial room was not large enough to swing a cat. Luckily the most helpful staff at reception - Aqeel - sorted out larger rooms on the 3rd floor for both rooms required. Be warned - No mini bar, no room service, and no iron in room....hoever the irnoning room was convenient, but as there was no water in the iron, and we werent allowed to use normal water, it took a few hours to request the iron water from downstairs. cleaning staff spoke little english, but were all very good. breakfast was a massive disapointment, all cheaper variations of kelloggs breakfast, so kids had to eat at my mums, as they only had option of sausages and beans ( the eggs were awful). machinery poured tea and coffee....we ddint attend our free dinner for this reason. parking is expensive, just park over the road for free on the residential roads..but so convenient with M&S there. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The connection with the T5 I chose this hotel becase I thought it closed to the T5 for me to catch the early flight. We had four persons, the taxi fee altogether costed £60. It would be much cheaper if I booked a hotel near housnslow with the taxi fee. It would also have been more flexible to enjoy the night London rather than to catch the time to stay at an airport hotel that is expensive for staying and transportations. As an airport hotel, the serving time of the breakfast should have been much earlier to meet the clients' requirement, despite a breakfast pack can be collected. July 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel for business trips Close the Heathrow airport, but far enough not the be disturbed by departing planes. The rooms are very nice. The only thing I did not like is the breakfast. As a person coming from the Balkans I'm used to lots of salads and vegetables. At breakfast there weren't even tomatoes and cucumbers... That's not big deal of course and not a reason to bypass your stay at Holiday Inn Express T5. July 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to lay your head Don't be put off my the rather awkward parking, this is a great place to stay. Friendly staff, comfortable room, great wifi and a business man's dream of a hotel. Suited me down to the ground. July 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good budget stay Good budget hotel for an overnight stay next T5 area. July 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Plainly average Reception staff were friendly, but restaurant staff were rude, lazy and completely indifferent to their customers. Room was recently refurbished, but the carpet did not fit properly, and the shower was a bit dusty. TV was really tiresome. If you wanted to watch TV, you had to scroll through 4 or 5 menu options (each option seems to land on a pay channel or service, not the free content). This had to be done each time the TV was switched on. Free Wifi was slow. Parking was expensive. July 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by accessible bathroom best ever! The accessible bathroom was terrific! Best I have ever seen and used! Very useful and attractive! Green paint on grab bars...shower seat attached to wall...small sink near toilet...everything solidly attached...WOW! Is Holiday Inn Express renovating all their accessible bathrooms? July 9, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by An expensive youth hostel! The carpet on the corridors was badly stained and looked like it was due for a very good clean or replacement. Impossible to relax in the bedroom as the hotel was filled with school parties who were running round on the corridors at 1.30am and then knocking on each others doors at 6.15am. Despite being told several times by guests from different room there was no staff (from the Holiday Inn) or teacher intervention. Eventually when a teacher finally did intervene, they spent half an hour on the corridor talking loudly with the children. Mentioned to staff when checking out and was told they could have moved us to another room. Really we had two small sleeping children with us! Breakfast was very disappointing - cooked breakfast consisted of sloppy baked beans, sausage and hard scrambled egg. July 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable spacious rooms Internet useless, but overall still a decent hotel and close to Heathrow airport July 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom very clean The hotel is well positioned for T5. It is easily accessed via motorway and link roads. it is clean and modern. Continental breakfast offered a very wide choice to suit all tastes. The room was quiet and the bathroom very clean July 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beds are pretty awful very well worn We arrived and were given one room the bed was so worn it almost touched the floor went to reception and was given a 2nd room and that was no better if not worse. We were then taken to a third room by the duty manager and it was slightly better so we took it as by this time we were extremely tired and I was in a great deal of pain with my back. We had 2 children with us so had to get the sofa bed made up which the manager arranged however the employee who came to do this was very rude. We asked for pillows for the sofa bed and were told we would have to use the ones off the main bed! And we had to ask for more towels. The employee said they were very busy and had none! Mentioned we would complain and suddenly he found some! The hotel was also very noisy. There was a large crowd of teenagers arrive by coach who were very rude and loud. Breakfast in the morning was chaos not enough plates cutlery or food available had to wait long periods for replacements. Only one toaster working and the queue was crazy for it so we went without. Not a good stay. We have stayed at numerous holiday inns and this was by far our worse stay ever. July 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location This hotel is perfectly located nearby Heathrow Airport. It is a good starting point if you land at night and have to start driving the next day outside London. The room was big and convenient, internet was OK, and breakfast was reasonable. Dinner is another story – the hotel has two restaurants: Italian and English. The Italian was full with 45 minutes waiting time, and the English was good with quick service. The variety is not big, but good enough not to go hungry to sleep. The hotel is full with groups, buses come and go, so expect a crowded but convenient hotel. As the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, don’t expect too much outside the hotel July 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good value for money Very convenient if you want to visit the Legoland Windsor. The Hotel itself is good value for money. June 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable and efficient staff welcoming and helpful. check in and out efficient, car parking facilities good. provided a efficient, no worry stay prior to flight to new York. June 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid this property I would avoid this Holiday Inn Express. The beds were almost unsleepable, the air conditioner did not work, and the staff was rude. June 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value for Money We booked into the hotel for the last night of our stay in London. We were tired and ready to go home and had a relatively early flight the next morning. We arrived to the hotel and checked in, there was quite a queue but it moved very quickly. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was the largest we'd stayed in during the whole trip to England and there was no hidden costs for having three people to the room. The room was surprisingly quiet thanks to the double- double pane glass. I heard nothing outside and slept like a baby on my last night ready for a long day of travel. The dining area was large and inviting. Breakfast was excellent. I will stay here again when I return. June 30, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Long way from the airport The hotel is a standard Holiday Inn, so if you are familiar with the hotel chain, you know what is expecting you. Two things may be improved: the first is transportation from and to the hotel. It takes very long. My flight landed at terminal 4, and I had to go to T5 (two different trains) and then wait for the bus. Overall, two hours (it was in the evening). The web site is no informative on transport details, but I emailed in advance the hotel and they answered quicky with the details. The second thing is the food. I arrived around 11 pm, the restaurant was closed, and so was a pizza site adjacent to the hotel. I had to go outside to a market at the gas station to get something to eat. June 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stayed overnight on layover My wife and I had an overnight layover in London and decided to stay the night at the Holiday Inn Express after flying from Perth. Getting there from Terminal 3 was a bit tricky. We had to get to Terminal 5 and then took the hotel hopper, so the trip was pretty quick and easy. Our stay was pretty good. The room was nice. The shower had good pressure. Breakfast was really nice. The mattress was a bit too springy for my liking and we sunk in towards the middle. The view was good to wake up to as well. It was a great way to rest up before our flight the next day. June 29, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Breakfast We have stayed here quite a number of times and this was the worst breakfast, although the rate paid this time was higher than normal. The breakfast was missing sausages (and as regular guests will no, this is the only hot non-vegetarian breakfast item) and there was no fresh fruit - these are both options we normally eat. We have written to customer care with these comments but heard nothing. And we have since remembered that we were not offered a drink / points voucher, as we normally are when staying here. June 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SERVICE AS MENTIONED ONE THE STAFF CALLED JOE REALLY WELCOME US AND MADE US FEEL HOMELY I THINK BECAUSE OF HIM WE REALLY ENJOY THE STAY June 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor transfer to Heathrow terminals Allow at least an extra 30 mins to 1 hour to transfer from the hotel to any Heathrow terminals. Shuttle service expensive and poor service. Hotel standard is fair for the price but there are better hotels much closer to the airport which are the same or better and similar cost. This hotel needs to offer something more to attract clients. June 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent for pre flight stay over when flying out from Heathrow T5 The hotel is just off J15 M4, about a 10 min drive from T5 and not to far from the other Heathrow terminals The hotel is pleasant, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a decent size and I give their condition I think recently refurbished. The bathroom has a massive shower area. I was sharing the room with my 2 sons, I took the sofa bed and I must say it was like sleeping in a proper bed. Very easy check-out. The rooms are also very quiet, no disturbance from planes or noisy neighbours! If you have car to park and fancy a drink, they have a special 'upgrade' deal , overnight parking + drink and nibbles for £12 saves you a couple of quid. Also has a local M&S Food shop right across the street. So a very favourable experience and lovely to arrive fresh and relaxed at the airport for our early morning flight. June 19, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor sleep,Air conditioning didnt work Our stay was ruined by broken air conditioning. our family of 4 were booked to stay two nights. The first night was torcher, we hardly slept, our room was stuffy and hot. the windows are sealed so you do not have access to fresh air. I reported it to reception the next morning. They said it would be looked at while we were out that day. we retuned around 8pm with two very tired children and as we walked into the room it was like entering a sauna. I rang reception and they said it hadn't been looked at and they would send someone up. the maintenance guy arrived around 9pm, he agreed it wasn't blowing any air out and all he could do at that time of night was to offer us a room fan. All that did was circulate warm stale air around the room, hence we had a second restless night. we booked this hotel because it was a good location to LEGOLAND, it was a treat for our twins birthday present and the hotel spoiled our break. I also suggest your breakfast staff should understand English so a simple query could be answered and your evening waitresses should be aware that the children eat free. Lack of training.
