Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Where's the Net? We could get Internet access in the lobby but NOT in our room. The tech tried and tried and then had to give up. The other problem was that the shuttle to the airport was late. ...easily 15 minutes late. We had enough time, but some people on the shuttle were upset. I hope these were temporary lapses. We stayed at the motel in July, and everything was fine. October 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just ok - nothing more I was in SF for business and with the hotels in town at such high pricing I decided to stay here. It was not bad, fair only. My biggest problem was with the breakfast - nothing healthy at all to eat. The nearest thing to health was a banana - and that is stretching it a bit. Also the gym is very poor and with so few equipment pieces there was always a long line even at 05:00am. October 21, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by beware of the night desk clerk that over charges your credit card and the manager that does not answer your calls and avoids you My spouse and I used to enjoy staying at Holiday Inn Express @ SFO South Blvd. until our recent stay on 10-11-13. The night desk clerk upon checking us in made several errors in charging my credit card, racking up holds on the card because he had hit the limit and because I have fraud protection my card was frozen for 48hrs. The manager was no bargain either. I was given his email address which was a bogus email and every day that I went to the front desk the manager was never there. We do not recommend this Holiday Express Inn to anyone unless you enjoy your vacation being ruined. October 20, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this place! This hotel was perfect for our weekend in San Fran. There is a free shuttle that runs to and from the airport every 30 minutes, so it is very easy to catch your flight. You can also take the shuttle to the airport, and catch the BART (subway system) to downtown San Fran for some sightseeing. The free breakfast is what you would typically expect for free breakfast. Coffee, toast, bagels, eggs, cinnamon rolls, etc...If you dont want free breakfast, there is an IHOP across the street. I cant say enough about how comfortable the beds are in this hotel. I slept like I sleep at home. Sooooo comfortable!! The rooms are clean, and the service is friendly. The woman at the front desk was so nice and helped us learn the public transit system so we could get around. If you are going to watch the 49ers please read: The Best Western Across the street has a round-trip shuttle for $20 per person to and from Candlestick Park. They take you on a charter bus. Sounds like a lot of money, right? Its not. Your cab ride will cost you at least 50 bucks each way. Take the shuttle. But get there early to board because we saw some people with tickets get a refund because there werent any seats left. All in all, this is a great hotel at a great price. We booked our rooms about 4 months in advance and only paid $125 a night. Not bad for such a nice hotel! October 18, 2013

However, it turned out to be even better than we expected. Very clean rooms, polite and helpful staff and a good, hot breakfast every morning. The reliable airport shuttle was also a plus. I would certainly recommend this hotel and I will stay here again on my next visit to San Francisco. October 17, 2013

Then hung up on me without answering my call. Then I sat a wake-up call for 6:30 and they rang me at 5:30; an hour of much needed sleep I'll never get back. And the coffee pot didn't work. Overall this was a nice hotel with easy access to the airport. However, the $10/night fee to park a car on their surface lot seemed pretty unnecessary. I was also disappointing in the fact there was no coffee/breakfast options available if you have to check out before 7am. Most competing hotel chains offer this. October 2, 2013

The check-in was flawless, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Used the business area to print out the boarding passes with no problems. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and Welcoming Holiday Inn Express is uping their standards. This San Francisco-Airport North location makes a fantastic impression as soon as you walk in the door. Clean, modern, welcoming. The rooms are large and include current decor and linens. The bathroom is fresh and clean. We didn't get to see the breakfast buffet since we took the 4:30 am free shuttle to the airport. Great airport location. Ten minutes drive if the traffic is good. The front desk staff also recommended and called a taxi to get our group of 4 to Pier 39. The cost was $60 going to the Pier due to heavy traffic but only $45 coming back to the hotel with lighter traffic. Worth every penny. September 21, 2013

They were on time and extra shuttle was made available when a large group needed to get to the Airport early in the morning. Would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast was served at 6:30 am. Perhaps some muffins or something could have been set out with the coffee. September 19, 2013

I have to travel for medical treatment so I've have been to many hotels, It's extremely rare that I find one so exceptional in every category. If rest is what you need, you'l have it because you'l hear no road noise, planes, or slamming doors, nothing but silence despite its proximity (and convenience) to the airport. Clean and spotless in every detail, this hotel is maintained to perfection .The rooms are immaculate including the breakfast area, fitness center and pool. The hotel is well insulated so the temperature is always comfort- able, it's seldom necessary to run the ac or heat. They have everything you could possibly need, wi fi, refrigerator, microwave, 300 channel cable tv, business center, and conference room But above all, the hotel staff - they're nice people, anxious to help you in every way from the housekeeping dept to the front desk to the management. Everyone works together to make sure you will be more than satisfied. It's an easy choice for me!. When I come to San Francisco, this is where I will stay, September 8, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk customer sevice On arriving there was one couple in front of us (fine so far) front desk worker was "chatting" him up, while still waiting on them the phone rang, she interrupted her checking them in to take the call that took a few minutes #no "could you please hold"# #why do phone calls take priority over customers standing in line? I was there first but the caller was waited on first#. Then when we checked in, no acknowledgement that I was Gold priority member. Also, we asked to borrow a corkscrew #knowing that there would not be one in the room, which was no problem# and we were told they didn't have one #this is a San Francisco Hotel, near one of the worlds most famous wine regions is it not?# but I could drive to a nearby Walgreens #by going back out on the service road, take this highway to that highway, etc#. We just drove over 3 hours, had brought back a bottle of wine, which we wanted to enjoy, but now we had to check our luggage #had planned on carry-on#. We have stayed here before, but will choose another hotel next time. The room and location were good, but the front desk service is the reason we will not be returning. August 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Cheapest around SFO Cheapest around SFO, but ... Surprise, there is an additional $9.95 a day charge to park your vehicle in the parking lot of a Holiday EXPRESS! I stayed 3 nights. First night no coffee in room (didn't notice it until going to bed.) Second night was fine. Third night only had decaf. No Gold Member gift. No coffee in the lobby on weekends. Rooms were very clean. No pool but an excellent jacuzzi. This Express just has "location" going for it - that's all. August 29, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, updated hotel near airport Nice and updated. Extremely comfy bed and large room (still wondering what kind of bed it was and where I can buy one!). Was only there a few hours to sleep and then left too early to have breakfast, but most HI Express breakfasts are the same and very mediocre (but free!). I left the fan running all night on the A/C unit so didn't hear planes at all - and I'm a light sleeper. My co-worker did complain of plane noise, so I'd suggest running the fan as I did. Convenient location for early a.m. flights. A tad pricey for a HI Express, but that is San Fran. August 23, 2013

It is extremely convenient to get to from the airport, which made arriving and departing very smooth. There's a wonderful shuttle to the airport that is clean and on time. Being an "Express" hotel, it didn't have any luxuries, but for a 4-day stay while in town for an event, the luxuries aren't necessary. The room was clean, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job every day. We were able to maintain a comfortable temperature with the in-room thermostat. And the breakfast bar was so extensive that it had something for everyone in my family, even me, and I'm a vegan. The people staffing the breakfast bar were very efficient and kept the area well-stocked and clean through the entire breakfast period. The front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful. Overall, our stay in the hotel was very pleasant, and a positive experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. August 17, 2013
