Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to get to airport nice clean rooms, also have a fridge and microwave. Staff was helpful with driving directions for the area. The shuttle service was very convenient. They were on time and extra shuttle was made available when a large group needed to get to the Airport early in the morning. Would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast was served at 6:30 am. Perhaps some muffins or something could have been set out with the coffee. September 19, 2013

I have to travel for medical treatment so I've have been to many hotels, It's extremely rare that I find one so exceptional in every category. If rest is what you need, you'l have it because you'l hear no road noise, planes, or slamming doors, nothing but silence despite its proximity (and convenience) to the airport. Clean and spotless in every detail, this hotel is maintained to perfection .The rooms are immaculate including the breakfast area, fitness center and pool. The hotel is well insulated so the temperature is always comfort- able, it's seldom necessary to run the ac or heat. They have everything you could possibly need, wi fi, refrigerator, microwave, 300 channel cable tv, business center, and conference room But above all, the hotel staff - they're nice people, anxious to help you in every way from the housekeeping dept to the front desk to the management. Everyone works together to make sure you will be more than satisfied. It's an easy choice for me!. When I come to San Francisco, this is where I will stay, September 8, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk customer sevice On arriving there was one couple in front of us (fine so far) front desk worker was "chatting" him up, while still waiting on them the phone rang, she interrupted her checking them in to take the call that took a few minutes #no "could you please hold"# #why do phone calls take priority over customers standing in line? I was there first but the caller was waited on first#. Then when we checked in, no acknowledgement that I was Gold priority member. Also, we asked to borrow a corkscrew #knowing that there would not be one in the room, which was no problem# and we were told they didn't have one #this is a San Francisco Hotel, near one of the worlds most famous wine regions is it not?# but I could drive to a nearby Walgreens #by going back out on the service road, take this highway to that highway, etc#. We just drove over 3 hours, had brought back a bottle of wine, which we wanted to enjoy, but now we had to check our luggage #had planned on carry-on#. We have stayed here before, but will choose another hotel next time. The room and location were good, but the front desk service is the reason we will not be returning. August 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Cheapest around SFO Cheapest around SFO, but ... Surprise, there is an additional $9.95 a day charge to park your vehicle in the parking lot of a Holiday EXPRESS! I stayed 3 nights. First night no coffee in room (didn't notice it until going to bed.) Second night was fine. Third night only had decaf. No Gold Member gift. No coffee in the lobby on weekends. Rooms were very clean. No pool but an excellent jacuzzi. This Express just has "location" going for it - that's all. August 29, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, updated hotel near airport Nice and updated. Extremely comfy bed and large room (still wondering what kind of bed it was and where I can buy one!). Was only there a few hours to sleep and then left too early to have breakfast, but most HI Express breakfasts are the same and very mediocre (but free!). I left the fan running all night on the A/C unit so didn't hear planes at all - and I'm a light sleeper. My co-worker did complain of plane noise, so I'd suggest running the fan as I did. Convenient location for early a.m. flights. A tad pricey for a HI Express, but that is San Fran. August 23, 2013

It is extremely convenient to get to from the airport, which made arriving and departing very smooth. There's a wonderful shuttle to the airport that is clean and on time. Being an "Express" hotel, it didn't have any luxuries, but for a 4-day stay while in town for an event, the luxuries aren't necessary. The room was clean, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job every day. We were able to maintain a comfortable temperature with the in-room thermostat. And the breakfast bar was so extensive that it had something for everyone in my family, even me, and I'm a vegan. The people staffing the breakfast bar were very efficient and kept the area well-stocked and clean through the entire breakfast period. The front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful. Overall, our stay in the hotel was very pleasant, and a positive experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. August 17, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place to Rest during Layovers As confusing as the name and address were when catching the shuttle (HIE North on South Blvd), this property delivered. Check in by the manager was quick and professional. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. While a free breakfast is a bonus, I have a real problem with the amount of waste generated by these breakfasts. At least this HIE property did not use styrofoam plates! Breakfast choices are a carb-lovers dream. We were provided a shuttle service schedule which was very helpful. August 5, 2013

Stayed 5 nights... room always clean, spotless, and bed made perfectly on return each evening. Very easy drive from rental car area at the airport. Easy 3 min. drive to drop off the rental car. Lots of restaurants and a large mall in the area. McDonalds next door! Easy drive in to the city... various routes. Value... room great... parking fee not appreciated. Had a great stay. July 28, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't do the extra tour package I had reserved the combo tour stay that was advertised as one of the choices for this hotel. When I checked in and asked the desk clerk about it, she acted like I had two heads, was completely unaware that they even offered such a package. After I insisted this is what I had purchased she did have someone call me with the time the bus would pick us up. Now we get to the tour company and was charged an additional $140 for the tour. When I got back and explained this to the front desk, she said there was nothing she could do about it and to bring it up to the tour company, not her problem. Of course no manager on duty, and was given a card to call Raj, after several calls he finally called me back and told me he had talked to the tour company and they would be crediting my credit card, this has not happened. I left him another message yesterday and no reply, so tonight I called my card company. This has really been a disappointing experience from a Holiday Inn. July 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cozy place near the SFO I was traveling with my parents who were on their first visit to San Francisco. The check in was smooth though I had to remind the hotel about my Platinum Elite Status with IHG and I was duly upgraded to a Suite that was very comfortable for a party of three with full pantry and two separate bathrooms. No goodies were offered though for IHG rewards status. Overall, our stay was comfortable. Their shuttle service is reliable and the breakfast is standard for a Holiday Inn Express. The location has a McDonald's next door and a Costco at 5 minutes walking distance. July 12, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One week stay I stayed her for a week, for a long conference in San Fran, but spent only half as much on hotel, and commuted by Caltrain. I had several small problems; one with a light bulb, two with the safe in the room. They were all dealt with promptly. Breakfast was fine. Desk staff was always particularly friendly. I had some nice conversations with a young man named John. One problem that I did not report involved the internet. Apparently some of the ports are blocked at this hotel, (8080). That has never happened to me before at any hotel, and it caused me to waste a bunch of time while trying to work. I didn't report it because I expected the desk staff wouldn't know what I was talking about. Even now, I have no idea if the person that reads this will understand the problem. July 6, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 45 Minutes to check in I am a platinum rewards customer and I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn hotels. This one was truly terrible. It took over 45 minutes to check me in even though there was nobody in front of me and I had a reservation. The front desk employee could not figure out how to operate the computer and there was nobody to help her. Checking out took another 30 minutes (same lady) and I finally gave up because I had to catch the shuttle to the airport. Stay at this hotel only if you have a lot of extra time on your hands. The hotel front desk did not respond to telephone calls as we were trying to find out when the hotel shuttle would pick us up at the airport. The bus which should come on the half hour took almost two hours to pick us up. They did not recognize my membership. June 10, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for a night! We had a very nice stay at this property. It was quiet and really close to SFO. Breakfast was great! The only downside is that there aren't many restaurants nearby. We returned our rental car the day before our departure flight and so we had to walk to a neighbor hotel to eat dinner. Choices are pretty limited when on foot. May 30, 2013
