Great Service! I was very impressed w/the front desk staff, expecially Kyle. He helped me over the phone to modify my reservation and also checked us in. He was polite, courteous and efficient. All of the people at the front desk helped me through the weekend and were quick and responsive despite the reno commotion and the fact the the hotel was full. Housekeeping people were very gracious and accomedating w/extra towels/soap etc. I would definitely stay here againg and recommend it.

I have had the best experiences on "The Rock"--Spokane-Downtown--that I come back continuously. Great service and staff, comfortable, and close to the downtown area. Nothing but repeat business from me!

I was not aware of the remodeling when I made my reward points reservation. If I had, I would not have stayed there, hence not complaining. I'm sure once the remodeling is complete, it will a beautiful place to stay. Breakfast packed in a room, and waiting for the only working elevator to get to my room is not my idea of relaxing. Did I mention the lack of parking spots? Again, I understand how hard it must be to remodel and keep the doors open. On the bright side, the staff was making the best out of it, and I had no problems with them. A simple email regarding the remodeling would have been a very nice notification.

The website said it may look like we are modeling on the outside but on the inside we are fine. Not even close! Breakfast was crammed in a hotel room and getting around was not possible at all! It was horrible. The staff were extremely unwelcoming. This is one I won't repeat.

I was reserved for a room and the day before my arrival I had to add another night to the room. The hotel was very full but in an effort to help me out the staff was able to work the schedule and get me into the same room I was reserved in for one extra night! I know this was not an easy task and want to thank the staff for going the extra distance to accommodate me and my unexpected schedule.
The room was wonderful, at the end of the hotel and thus very quiet and relaxing. This is a great hotel and with another expansion almost complete will only be that much better.

I stayed here on a shopping trip to Spokane. The location of this property is excellent and withing walking distance to the park and convention center. They are currently undergoing a huge renovation project, so parking was terrible but I am sure that will change once the project is finished. The staff was friendly and the hotel was quiet. I would stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TXgirl33 First good sleep in nearly a week!
I stayed at the Holiday Inn-downtown after about a week of business travel. Despite the renovations taking place at the hotel my stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The beds were comfy and I got the best sleep I had during my entire trip at this hotel! The complimentary taco bar and 2 beers, or beer thirty as my coworker and I called it, was an unexpected treat! I only have 2 complaints: 1. The wind noise coming from the balcony sliding door was a little unsettling at first, but it only occured when the wind was really strong 2. I did not like that my balcony connected to the balcony of the room next to me. It made me feel that someone from that room could just walk on over.

Great stay and excellent staff. Ready to accommodate any needs. Had a very nice room with an outside door which I could exit straight to my car (reserved parking space) or to the inside hall of the inn. Very nice options. Was less than 5 minutes to Gonzaga University campus, which brought me to Spokane. Free shuttle to downtown so parking not a problem. Also minutes from downtown and the Spokane Falls. Inn getting a facelift and expansion, but no noise problem. Had restaurant delivery options, which I used and ate the best steamed clams and hot artichoke dip imaginable. Clean, well-kept rooms and outstanding staff. Free breakfast and a dinner option in a central location....I would definitely stay again without hesitation.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are comfortable but it is the staff that makes this such a good place to stay. Jessie at the front desk gave us some wonderful suggestions for dinner and entertainment downtown and the breakfast the next day was good and plentiful.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PatsyJ Small room and not handicapped friendly
The hotel is under renovation. We had stayed at this hotel prior to renovation and enjoyed it much more then. This trip I was taking my mother back home and we were spending the night in Spokane. When I checked in, I asked for handicapped accessible room, as she is in a wheelchair. I had to pay extra or this room ... why? The room was tight and difficult to maneuver the wheelchair. The wall and furniture made for a tight corner to enter the room and get to the desk. I could not get the wheelchair turned around easily and it wore her out to try and move around in tight limited space. There was not enough room to place her wheelchair near the bed, so she has to scoot along the bed to get in and of the bed. When she needed to get into the bathroom, the door opened to the right ... which meant she had to open the door slightly, scoot to the left and then open more to get in. When she left, she opened the door she had to pull forward enough to close the door and then fight to turn and master the tight corner. I believe the only reason this is considered handicapped accessible is due to the fact that the shower had a bench. When the concern was brought to the front desk staff attention by my mother, they apologized and stated that they would work to right the situation. When I went to check us out, I was asked how the stay was and I tried to state that the room was not handicapped friendly. The clerk sat on a stool behind the desk and at no time did she stand up or act as if she was aware that there was a concern voiced. I felt "brushed off" by her lack of customer service or general empathy. I appreciate she could not change the room layout, but she always has the ability to say that a patron's concern will be forwarded to corporate or if there was anything that she could do to make it right. The lobby door was not equipped with an automatic button to open for handicapped clients, it was difficult to get her in with a wheelchair and the hallways were narrow.

I went to visit my Gonzaga student for Easter and my student wanted to rest away from campus. It was a very relaxing stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hot breakfast. They have cookies and milk in the evenings. We did not experience any discomfort due to the construction and my daughter was able to sleep in late each morning. My student returned the dorms rested and ready for school following the Easter break!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RR451 Quick overnight, Nice Suite
We were in town for a quick overnight stay for a NCAA women's basketball game and an early Doctor's appointment.
We reserved a king room and ended up in a two room two queen suite which was alright. The sitting area was very nice seemed like it was a recently updated room.
Bathroom had a spa tub, a llittle funky also as a shower.
The employees were real nice and friendly. The check-in was a little slow but when it was my turn it went quick.
There is construction going on but the only inconvience was the breakfast area.
The manager's reception was a little lame not much to it.
Overall the stay was good. We left a couple things in the refrigerator, we called and went back and they had them bagged for us.

There is no lobby, and breakfast is served in converted bedrooms. They may be doing the best they can, but the environment is not comfortable. I think the staff must be tired of the construction also, because they weren't particularly friendly or helpful.

I stayed in the Gonzaga Suite and the room was wonderful. The staff was very welcoming and great to talk with. They are remodeling and yet the hotel was still very clean. Breakfast was fine. Hotel is right at the park so you can walk around, see the falls and walk downtown or to campus. Great location!

We love staying at this Holiday Inn when we go to Spokane to get away. The rooms are always clean & breakfast is delicious (well stocked & hot). We are made to feel welcomed the moment we check in.
They were in the mist of construction when we were just there. However, this did not interfere with us being able to relax and rest.

My husband and I stayed at this location for 2 nights when we had to go to Spokane for some medical appointments. The location is great, easy access and the staff was soooo friendly!!! We had a great stay and I am sure we will stay there again. Only downfall was no pool so we would not stay there when we bring our children, but then maybe less children isn't a downfall for some :) I am sure we will stay here again in the future!!!

Staff were welcoming and professional. The room floor was wet (for unknown reasons) and did not dry throughout our 1 night stay. We had to wear shoes in the room. Construction ongoing in the lobby area. Breakfast server / attendant was excellent. She endeavoured to ensure that each guest had an enjoyable breakfast, keeping food trays full and fresh.
Hotel was downtown, but have experienced better properties throughout chain. No pool, which was my error for not checking (a must for our kids!)

We had the greatest experience at this hotel. Our highlight was the shuttle driver Nick, he checked us into the hotel and offered to drive us anywhere we would like, as it was new years this was amazing for us! He was very friendly and did an amazing job! All of the staff we encountered was great. The room was very clean and classy. I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel!

Love the new interior design inside. It is truly a CASTLE on the MOUNTAIN. Agents were great and SWIFT. establishment is High Altitude like above Water level of the sea and stands out even at Night.
Seems like Anyone visiting, even by train coming out of the depot across the rr Xng would come Over and stay the Night.

The front desk staff is less than helpful. Also the hotel does not have enough parking during construction so you have to pay for parking at the bottom of the hill the hotel is located on.

On my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Spokane, I woke up to a inch or two of snow (never welcome when you have somewhere you need to be!). Much to my surprise, as I headed to my car, this nice man came running up and completely cleared off my rental car so I could drive. There was no scrapper or brush in the car, so he really was a life saver!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mikeyman5 Excellent Staff and Great Stay
I have stayed at alot of HIE because of travel with work and this by far is the best one yet. Aside from the quality of breakfast items, I would say this rivals most Staybridge Suites I have stayed at. The staff was absolutely wonderful and everyone seemed to love their job. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a five mile radius and they practically beg you to let them drive you somewhere! I even saw the Hotel Manager drive someone herself to the airport(very uncommon for the management to get involved like that). Dzenana puts out a great spread at breakfast and really goes above and beyond her job description. Everyone at the front desk(Nick, Ian, Karen and, sorry, I could not remember all the names!) were always very helpful with directions and anything I needed. The hotel offers a managers reception on some of the weeknights that easily surpassed my expectations. I've seen other hotels that have the cookies at night, but this hotel even had fresh baked sugar cookies throughout the lobby in the morning. I listed the "Amenities" as a Con, but that was only because they do not have a pool. Besides that, there are absolutely no cons to staying here. P.S. They are going through a remodel right now(I thought I heard it was for the next six months), but I can almost guarantee that the staff will make up for any inconvenience you experience.
