Hotel is in the grounds of the football stadium, but as it was a non match day it was quiet and comfortable. Would stay again when in the area - typical HIE. Not to be confused with the Harvester next door which is aweful

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JGS54 Great Nights Sleep in the Potteries
The Hotel was clean, the staff friendly and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable and above all pleasantly quiet.
The Hotel's location, just off the A50 east/West trunk road and with easy access to the M6, makes it an ideal place to stay when breaking one's journey.
As with all Holiday Inn Expresses the only black mark goes against the breakfast. The standard of the scrambled egg in all the HI Express hotels I have stayed in (and I stay in 70 per annum) is very poor and this one is of no exception. However, unusually the sausages were well cooked. Come on IHG, do something to make the breakfast experience as pleasurable as the rest of the stay!

Stayed here as a one night stop over on our way to another destination. The hotel was extremely clean and the receptionist that checked us in was extremely helpful, not only with hotel details, but also places to eat etc. she was extremely helpful

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by StokieVisitor Best Price that weekend
We booked in because this hotel was cheapest including breakfast that weekend. We would have preferred a hotel in Hanley but the prices excluding breakfast were much much higher at weekend. The Holiday Inn Express is next to the A50 road and our room faced that and so the double glazing plus a third secondary glazing window reduced the traffic noise to almost non existent. However, if you are a person who likes to sleep with a window open our room would not be for you.
The room was air conditioned, but the unit blew air right onto the one of the two single beds. Unfortunately, although the air conditioning fan had four setting levels, that did not help, so we had to turn the unit off altogether. Thankfully the weather was not hot, as this would have made our night unbearable.
A lot of parking spaces but not really adequate for the number of guests, although the hotel take note of car registration to ensure there is a space.
Staff courtesy and service was very good. I was told that a heater could have been provided because of my observations about the air conditioning, it being a wet cold weekend, but we were not cold in our room.
