Not the first time I have used this hotel and each occassion the staff have made the visit enjoyable

Great locatiion close to the football, Close to A50 but was not able to hear it too much in the room.
There needs to be more choice for breakfast ie bacon, tomato, etc not just scrambeled egg and sausage and beans, Otherwise good value.
No evening meal.

stayed here for two nights with the Alton towers package with two kids. Very handily placed, easy to find and with the Harvester next door you could walk back no problem.
Hotel rooms were perfectly acceptable, clean and modern. Buffet breakfast was also excellant and actually hot for a change !!
no complaints at all and will defnately use again, thanks guys !!

Had 2 rooms booked for myself and 4 teenage girls. Requested either adjoining rooms or rooms next to one another and the latter is exactly what I got. Couldnt fault the hotel. Rooms were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately I cant comment on the breakfast as I never ate there although the girls went down about 9am and said that there wasnt an awful lot of choice. All in all I would definately stay there again.

We stayed here overnight to allow a 2 day trip to alton towers.. From arrival to departure everything was good . We have stayed here before and been happy on that occasion also. Breakfast good with a nice fresh selection. Staff friendly and all areas clean and well presented.

Reason For Trip : Alton Towers Visit
Additional Information : Potential need to change date due to weather.
I have been coming to the HI Express in Stoke for many years now for various trips to Alton Towers with family. This was my 4th visit to this hotel and my 1st visit driving with just a partner. Room warm and comfortable as normal. My only complaint would be that there were only beans, sausage and tomato for the cooked breakfast whereas i prefer a full fry up.
The Harvester restaurant next door is fairly priced and has a nice restaurant/bar environment. Staff very friendly, all presented themselves to us by name and were friendly at all times.
We were there during a period of VERY heavy snow but this did not affect the stay at all.
Realistically it is only 25 minutes drive to/From Alton Towers as well .
What i will add is that due to the weather at the time, Alton Towers was closed up until the Sunday prior to our arrival on monday. I did query wether or not our pre-paid rate would be refunded/moved if we'd have had to cancel and was advised that moving it would have been free of charge and no problem at all to do.
Would have given 10/10 but it has to be 9/10 due to the lack of hot breakfast items.
