On the first night of my stay at the hotel, I went to check into my room and the 2nd floor hallway was littered with remodeling tools and products. I had to move many items, including mattresses to get to my room. Very unsafe condition, especially in case of emergency. After bringing this to their attention, no action was taken. The next morning, we had a fire alarm around 0400. I was on the same floor as the fire. Before leaving for the day, I asked if the hotel would be open for guests that night and if the rooms would be serviced and cleaned of the fire smoke and soot. I then called back around 1100 and the hotel staff verified that my room had been cleaned. I arrived back at the hotel shortly after 1700 and my room had not been serviced in any way. I still had dirty sheets w/ soot from the fire, soot was everywhere in the room. The room had not been cleaned at all. I notified the hotel staff and they did not offer me another room, or even to clean this room before I called it a night. They simply said sorry. Completely unacceptable to not clean a room, especially after the smoke/soot that was all around the 2nd floor.

I stay at this location for business a lot and haven't had issues until after the renovation started. The toilet had rust stains in the bowl, also holes in the wall, 2 of them to be exact, not all the way through to the next room but you could see inside the wall. Another disappointment I have for this location is the fact that you only get a bottle of water for being a rewards member, at every other location they at least give you a snack with the water. For the price of the stay amenities should be top notch I believe and they just aren't.

1. Desk light had no bulbs.(I had night clerk to replace them.)
2. Smoke alarm had been removed.
3. Shower drain plugged up.
4. No hot water in the morning.
5. Ventilation system wouldn't run in auto.

Much to my surprise they were in the middle of a renovation project. Lamps littered the hallway. The elevators were not available because flooring was being redone. All in all, I paid full price for less than complete accommodations. Overall, extremely disappointed. I choose Holiday Inn Expresses specifically for the consistency and it was not there this time.

The hotel is not bad but they were remodeling on my floor. Strong paint smell. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for my Son and Daughter In-Law's baby shower.
It was a great place to stay it was very close to everything and will stay here again once the baby is born.

Stayed at this location before in the past and enjoyed my stay and would have enjoyed myself if it wasn't for the construction. Although they did a good job of concealing the work which was being done, my sinus/allergy detected it.
I would definitely stay at the Sumter location again minus the construction while recommending it to my friends/family.

Clean, comfortable room with friendly and accommodating front desk staff the day I checked in. Although the hotel had few guests that evening, the hotel put a family next door to me. Turns out they had noisy children and I had to call the desk to complain around 11:30 pm. Didn't get much sleep.
I would recommend separating the guests by several rooms when the hotel is empty to ensure the patrons quiet enjoyment of their room.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at your hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were clean, with a refrigerator and microwave (for heating leftovers).
I was really impressed with the breakfast room layout and the spaciousness and modernization of it. The self serve buffet consisted of bacon, ham, sausage links, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage in white gravy, various cold cereal choices, instant grits, instant oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes,water, coffee, tea, OJ, apple juice, cranberry juice, bananas. So many choices and it was hot.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.

Had a 4 and 2 day stay in the same week. There was construction happening and renovation being made. I felt there was more issues with the contractors and their poor quality of craftsmanship that made the over all stay not the best it could have been. There were many issues with the rooms reserved and stayed in, and being a fire fighter with extensive construction back ground, I was able to address some safety issues with the manager/owner. The staff and manager were very professional and went out of their way to take care of our concerns to the best of their ability. I feel that once some issues are corrected with the contractor and certain safety issues addressed and repairs made to unfinished claimed competed work done, this will be a great establishment to stay in.
I would recommend this facility and would stay again. I just hope the owner is able to have a better contractor come in and repair and complete the remodel with a higher standard of staff and professionalism.

This hotel was obviously under renovation from being another local hotel and they had a lot of work left to do. My room had been renovated but there were gaps in the threshold between the tile in the bathroom and the carpet and the entrance to the room. I also noticed in the early morning hours that my window shut at an angle and there was a gap at the top that allowed air and highway noise to come into my room. If I had it to do all over again I would not have stayed at this hotel. I get the same quality in much cheaper hotels when I travel and have come to expect much better from Holiday Inn Express.

This hotel was very comfortable, clean and well decorated. The people at the desk, and even the staff we saw in the hallways, were all super friendly. If you come to Sumter, for work or passing through, this Is a really nice hotel.

The man at the front desk knew the town!
I can't tell you how many times I've travelled and when requesting information from the front desk I get blank stares or an excuse of 'I'm not from here...'
The staff at the hotel was friendly and knowledgeable.
I can't say enough good things about this place.

I left a phone charger and a pair of black rainbow flip flops in the room,,,,,called the same day and management said that housekeeping had left and that I needed to call back in the morning on June 24. Called back and they stated they had located both items, we called UPS and paid to have them picked up and shipped to our home. To my dismay I got a plastic pair of flip flops and not the same phone charger I had left.....had I know these where not my rainbows or correct phone charger I would not have paid to have a dollar pair of flip flops shipped. I even stated what room we had been in. I am sure housekeeping has my flip flops but that is ok if they fit wear them. Also in the corners of the room and under the table and under the bathroom sink was not clean. We visit Sumter every year on the fourth weekend for my family reunion and we will not be staying here again.

First off, the rooms were in good clean condition. All the extras (shower, TV, heat/air) all worked well. This would have been an ideal stay in all areas with the exception of one incident. One evening, I was cleaning up after work and before I left for dinner. The room phone rang, which I ignored since I was showering and figured I would return message after I was out. Then there was a knock on the door, and I called out "busy", then the door started rattling and someone was trying to get into the room and wouldn't stop. Fortunately, I had bolted the door so noone could enter. I quickly exited the shower and through on some cloths and went out to see who it was. No-one was there but my room was just outside of the receptionist, so I went and asked him if something was wrong. I explained to him what happened and he said that they had notified me they were going to be working on the elevator on the other side of the wall and it might be noisy and since I didn't answer the phone, they were knocking to notify me. I understand that but there was no need for them to try to force their way into the room. When asked this the receptionist said that it was the owner who had tried to get into my room but did not tell me why he needed into my locked room. I asked to speak to the owner or the manger, and I was told they had just left right after the incident (conveniently I thought). I asked to speak to either one at a later time and neither has returned my call yet (one week later). This was a huge concern to my privacy and security at the hotel. I normally prefer Priority Club hotels and will be travelling to the same location multiple times throughout the year and I will strongly look at other hotel options.

I stay at this location 6 to 8 times a month. I always request a wake up call, but I never receive one. Front desk staff doesn't seem to have it together. Disappointing.

We were impressed at the level of comfort found at this hotel. Room size, pool size, dining room .... size does matter, and coupled with friendly and knowledgeable staff our stay was truly enjoyable. We generally stay in Florence while passing along the I-95 corridor, but as a lark did a little sidetrack and were glad we did. Our next trip will include a similar path.

If this wasn't the only Priority Club hotel in Sumter I wouldn't ever stay here again. The room smell like feet and 3 of the last 5 times I have stay here the room has been dirty upon check-in. I will consider stay in Columbia in the future and driving the extra distance.

I was very pleased with my hotel stay. The room was clean and had plenty of space. The bed was comfortable. It was up to date, flat-screen TV, microwave and minifridge. The wireless internet worked. The breakfast was decent. I have no complaints. It was a good stay.

The Sumter, SC, Holiday Inn Express is located close to several restaurants and very close to downtown Sumter. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was consistently fresh and well maintained. The room I stayed in was was average for this type of hotel. Everything worked and it was clean. I had no problems during my 11 night stay.

we were in sumter for a family reunion, I rode down with my aunt and uncle. The overall service was excellent. The bed was soft and comfortable, my room was clean, the hot breakfast bar was a great and tasty surprise. I especially liked the peace and quiet. My family and I will definitely return to your establishment. Thank you.
