Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast lacking on our last day Breakfast was lacking on Jan 2 2013. Their excuse was they didn't expect so many people during the previous two days. Although my guess is that most people staying had booked reservations long in advance, as it was New Years Eve, New years Day and the Outback Bowl was being held just down the road on New years Day, bringing fans from both Michigan and South Carolina. Had to complain to the front desk who said they would look into the matter. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and loved the location and the great views over the Bay Area. January 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good experience but needs some work on property The overall experience was good, but being as particular as we are, our concerns were: 1) Bathroom exhaust fan was filthy, 2) shower knob stuck in full water position, and 3) we had to change rooms because the heater did not work in the first room. These may be minor, but with severe allergies, the vent fan was a problem. Otherwise, great view and great location. December 17, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by rooms walls between rooms had no sound insulation. young people,no i'm not old,came in after being out to 2:30 am laughing and carring on in their room after 2 nights i complained but they had left that day.All I got was a sorry for any inconvience, nothing else. My daughter goes to USF go I get down there quiete frequently. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. On a side note I am a partner in a hotel and service and accommodiating people is what it is all about. December 15, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pre-cruise stay We stayed at this hotel 2 years in a row,. We were so happy after the first stay that we returned. The room was very clean. The beds were comfortable with sheets that were clean and fresh. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was great. The first time we have ever seen an automatic pancake maker which produced the best pancakes ever. The drivers from airport and to the cruise ship were very professional and punctual. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and especially pre or post cruise. December 7, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Workout Facility The hotel is in a great location. If good workout equipment is something that is required, this is not your hotel. They have a bike and two treadmills that are extremely dated. This is by far some of the worst workout equipment I have ever come across. It's too bad because I prefer HI but I won't be back. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service It was almost perfect, 8 of us stayed there over night to catch a cruise ship leaving the next day. We were able to take advanage of the snooz and cruise deal, which I recomend to anyone. They take you to the cruise ship that morning and will pick you up at the cruise ship and return you to the hotel. It was easy. The rooms were clean, the service was great. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room and Comfort I spent a week at this hotel, I requested a NON-Smoking room, however when I arrived and checked in the hotel was booked solid and was given a room that was a smoking room. I DON"T SMOKE! THIS ROOM STUNK! If it weren't for the fact that I was down here on business that required me to stay close to your location I would have willingly paid another hotel twice what I did for a room that didn't smell that way. If I am ever placed in a smokers room again with Holiday Inn I will NEVER stay in one again! November 15, 2012

When I checked in to stay for 3 nights and being a priority Club member I would have hoped I would had been given a bay view room but hotel was full. I was not offered to change rooms the next day to get a room with a view either. An associate of mine checked in the next night and was given a bay view room, that was extremely disappointing. Trying to understand why the priority club doesn't provide a bit more in the way of service at this location. November 14, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Problems Coming and Going First thing when I got to my room I found that the deadbolt wouldn't go into the hole in the door jamb. Called the desk and they had maintenance come up to take a look. They spent about a half hour to 45 minutes filing away at the hole, trying different latches, and finally got it to where it would work. They were nice guys and were determined to get it fixed right away. I used this facility last year for it's convenience to the airport and the free shuttle. I got the package where you stay a night and you can leave your car there for up to two weeks. Well, when I returned from my trip and went to my car, I saw that some careless individual had dented and marked my car with white paint from opening a door too wide and damaging my front fender. Of course the front desk said they're not responsible for damage to cars left on their property. The manager came out and took some pictures with his cell phone camera and wrote down my info on some scrap paper saying he would write up an incident report. Never heard back from anyone, nor do I expect to. One thing very noticeable about the parking spaces on this property is that they're not as wide as ordinary parking spaces you find everywhere else. So if you're OK with a good possibility of getting your car dinged up, then have at it. I asked if they had security cameras so that maybe we could see who did the damage, but was told they only have them inside, not outside. November 4, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Great Experience I came to FL to have surgery at the Laser Spine Institute, so was looking for somewhere close / on Rocky Point, something not too expensive and with amenities such as breakfast. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was amazing (large variety and hot foods) the staff went above and beyond accommodating my needs (need of shuttle service from airport - even let me ride to airport to get my daughter who was to care for me the day of & after surgery), shuttle service from surgery center to hotel, they kept ice packs in the freezer for me. We will be staying at this hotel next time we come to Tampa. October 29, 2012

The folks at the front desk area were so kind and helpful with changes that needed to be made with our booking. One kind young man even offered to loan me his phone charger when I discovered I had left mine behind at our previous hotel. Great variety of breakfast choices and a fantastic location! Easy to get out to the Causeway for early morning walks... easy to get over to the Clearwater Beach on Hwy 60... easy to get on and off of I-275.... easy to swing over to St. Petersburg, etc... The hotel is located on beautiful bay with excellent restaurant right next door. Prices are the best of the whole vacation!! Beds and bedding to die for, love, love, love. October 22, 2012

We then went down to Auburndale for a 40th High School Reunion. Party of (4) with (2) rooms booked the Cruise package, staying prior to cruise and after cruise with included transit to and from airport and to and from the Cruise terminal. No problems, No issues. Rooms were clean and ready quickly even though we showed up early. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Bahama Breeze Restaurant next door, walked over and had a great dinner/drinks/watched a little College football action came back and got rested. Good Breakfast buffet, coffee was not that good,but the hostess is fantastic. I will stay here again and recommend this hotel. October 12, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place but had issues. Pleasant hotel, pretty location, conveniently located and comfortable room. However, my issue had to do with a request I made well in advance - I have severe environmental allergies to perfumes, air fresheners, etc. and requested that my room not be sprayed with any odor containing products prior to my check in. Arriving directly from the airport around 5 pm, opening the door to my room, I immediately smelled the sweet odor of something in my room and within short order started to get congested. Talking to an attendant at the front desk, she assured me that a maintenance person would soon come to my room to assist me. A short while later, a maintenance man did show with some type of machine. Unfortunately, he could speak minimal English to explain how the machine worked or how long it would take. In the end, rather than relaxing in my room/hotel that evening, I had to leave the premises and find things to keep myself busy while I waited for the air to clear. When I returned to the room at approx 10 pm, the sweet smell was gone to be replaced with an ozone odor. While I didn't appreciate having to smell that scent either, at least I wasn't allergic to it. Emailing the hotel of my experience, I never received back any response. Bottom line...pleasant hotel, good location, easy parking, pretty views...BUT...if you have allergy issues...be careful.
