Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service. I sometimes work close to this property and have stayed a number of times. Unfortunately, rates have gone up and the staff service has gone down. To begin, when checking in, I had two rooms reserved for a several day stay. At check-in, we asked that one room be put in my name and the other in a co-workers who was present. Despite our request, both room were put in my name. When this was pointed out, the desk worker said they couldn't fix the error. We tried to have the issue corrected the following morning with different staff and received a similar response. On our own initiative, we decided to check-out and then check back in as two separate reservations. Notably, I'm a Platinum Priority Club Member. This was not recognized at check-in. The breakfast staff was often MIA. Coffee was often out or left over cold from the day before. One morning after not being able to find any staff to make coffee, we left the hotel for breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, however mine had a TV remote without a battery cover and the toilet ran continuously. So much for water conservation. Respectfully Submitted, WRMD NC March 11, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel - Poor Customer Service A co-worker recommended this hotel for my business trip to Tampa and thought the hotel was taken care of very well. How ever on the day I was checking out I asked for a 1:00pm check out so I could go to my morning meetings then come back to the hotel to clean up and change into more comfortable clothes for the 3+ hour drive to Jacksonville. The woman working at the front desk would give me a noon check-out time and I explained that I would be lucky to make it back to the hotel by then and that did not work for me. She seemed indifferent and unwilling to accomadate me so I rushed around and left the hotel at 8:30am. I have been traveling 3-5 days a week for 10 years on business and this is the first time I was unable to get a 1:00pm check-out time at any hotel. February 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No soap in room and thin walls As far as my stays at HIE this was last on the list. The staff person at the front desk on checking in was nice. Other than that, pretty sub par. No soap in room. Inattentive staff in the morning. Room was not as clean as other HIE properties. Hair in the bathroom and bed-gross. I was too tired to complain that night-just wanted to sleep and hope I did not catch anything. Anyway, I will take this one off the list. February 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Location Hotel is across major road from Florida State Fair Grounds. I was looking for easy access and I got it there. Had to walk a little distance to get to safe crossing area but it eliminated parking on Fairgrounds. Front desk staff were super. February 15, 2013

I Pulled at Hotel secured truck parking went in showered up And took the Shuttle Van over to the Hard Rock Casino... we played for 3 hours hours and then Norton picked us up at 3am ,loved it Got a great night nights sleep at a great price Thank you the staff was Excellent. My stay in November they had my club level wrong. I do not know what the problem is with the system but the only reason I stay at any hotel is that they are a member of Priority Club. I have been a member since 1988, most properties really do not get it. January 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place To Stay But Beware of Depending on Casino Shuttle You may get left out in the cold if you expect to be picked up by the Casino shuttle. My husband and I both got left at the casino and we left at DIFFERENT times. The staff informed us upon arrival that the shuttle now runs on the hour, every hour, during pick up and drop off scheduled hours. However, the staff also changed the location of their pick up service but did not inform us although we have been staying at the hotel and using the shuttle for about a year. We thought we knew the routine but apparently did not, which resulted in our getting left behind on New Year's eve because we could not see the shuttle over other shuttles and buses when it parked for pick up in a different area. We both had to pay cab fares to get back to the hotel. January 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by quiet stay The room was comfortable and quiet. The carpet did need cleaning. Breakfast was good, but a little "sketchy". Perhaps a large crowd went through before us? and we had to wait and wait for the egg dish (omelet) and for the biscuits and gravy to be replenished. For 2 people in the room another bottle of water would have been welcome in the goodie bag. Over all a good stay. January 2, 2013
