I have to first comment on the staff. From check in to check out the staff was great. I was even given bottled water @ check in. There's not another hotel in the area that has this kind of value for the location. My room was spotless, but the furniture did show some wear. Breakfast was good, with a few more 'hot' food choices than your typical continental breakfast. They even had 3 choices for coffee. They also have free internet and a business center. Overall a great stay and I will certainly look to stay there on my next visit.

Stayed here for my wedding and couldn't be happier with our stay. The hotel is beautiful inside, looks like you're in a winter lodge cabin. The rooms are comfortable with remodelled bathrooms. The breakfast room is huge and has lots of hot breakfast options, too bad it isn't open later. Nice pool area with BBQ grill to use.

We always attempt to stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels whenever possible. This facility has a very nice presence, however the carpets are a little dingy and the room had a smoky odor to it. On the other hand, the room was comfortable but missing our favorite ameneties, i.e. microwave and refrigerator.
Overall we were happy and the price was very competitive.

This hotel was close to downtown Walnut Creek, but did not charge for parking like some hotels in the area. There were a lot of families staying for kids soccer games, but my room was quiet. However, the breakfast room was busy in the morning with kids everywhere.
Room was clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while visiting the Bay Area. We always stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel because the rooms are always clean, comfortable, they offer a great free breakfast, and we love the speedy check-out. This was the first time that we stayed at HIE Walnut Creek. I have to say, I was fairly disappointed in the experience. While the room was mostly clean, it smelled like smoke (it was a non-smoking room) and the chair and ottoman were quite dirty. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable - quite different from other HIE locations. We usually love how comfortable and plush the beds are. We slept too late to take advantage of the free breakfast, so I can't comment on that. We also didn't receive our express check-out paper under the door as we usually do, so that was a bit disappointing too. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay, but not great either.

Whenever possible we stay at a Holiday Inn Express because of the facilities, the service, and the breakfast right in the hotel. Most recently we have stayed in Minneapolis, MN and in Walnut Creek, CA. The staff in both places were very helpful and attentive.
At Walnut Creek i would particularly like to commend the employees who worked in the breakfast room, Eppie and Tony. They were outgoing and very attentive to the needs of the customers, which made for a very pleasant atmosphere.

Recently, we spent two nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay. While the location is a bit hard to locate, once found we were able to get on and off the freeway with ease. The hotel's staff were overly helpful with all of our needs.

The best Holiday Inn Express (and other comparable hotels) ever! The housekeeping was outstanding, the room was great, the front desk staff helpful, and the cookies were delicious!!! My only suggestion would be to place the full-lengh mirrors on the outside of the bathroom door, not the inside, for a better "view."
The location of the hotel was perfect, allowing us to tour the wine country, San Francisco, etc. on day trips. All in all, our week-long stay was very enjoyable, always knowing we had a nice place to relax and sleep.

Everyone I came into contact with at this hotel was polite, helpful and completely accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was trying to find the ice machine which was on a different floor. Breakfast was plentiful and the dining room quite nice.

This 2 story lodge hotel with a beautiful lobby, pool and hot tub was a wonderful surprise to myself and wife last week. All the Express hotels we have stayed at does not compare to the one in WalnutCreek, Ca.
It is close by to all the shopping malls and fine restaurants,
It was the first time we didn't even venture in to San Francisco.
Staff was wonderful. Buffet breakfasts were diffferent each day.And the BBQ the hotel through was much appriciated.

We appreciated the extra consideration your staff displayed for my husband who recently has had to use a walker and a wheelchair . They assisted us with our luggage, offered to store the wheelchair, and assisted with doors, etc.
The beds were comfortable, and the public areas were relaxing, and well maintained.
As our daughter's home has over twenty stairs to access the living area, we will be returning to your hotel frequently while my husband is recovering from his knee surgeries.

Nice, good-sized room but there were no luggage stands. It would have been nice not to have to bend over to get into the suitcases on the floor. The air conditioning was noisy, and it would have been nice to have a refrigerator. The staff couldn't have been nicer. It's our go-to motel in Walnut Creek.

It wasn't as nice as the Holiday Inn Express in Pacifica (a hidden gem!), and, as usual, didn't have enough electrical outlets for charging our devices, but on the whole it was a good place, well worth the price and certainly conveniently located. There were restaurants nearby, 680 was right there, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good and it was very clean. The staff was very nice which always goes a long way towards making up for minor deficiencies.

I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and the Holiday Inn Express Walnut Creek likely has the nicest and most accommodating staff to be found anywhere on the globe. From the front desk staff to housekeeping and engineering and foodservice, they all go out of their way to make the guests feel like family. Management is very involved and present throughout the hotel, often greeting the guests by name. If you return to this hotel at a later date, they remember you and your preferences. Very clean and the property is conveniently located to restaurants, bike and jogging trails and area attractions.

My wife and I stay here four or five times a year. We have never had a bad experience. The staff is helpful and friendly. My wife has back problem and can sleep well in their beds.

The room smelled of cigarettes. Maid sprayed something to mask the smell. The layout was bizarre. The pool was murky. I was woken up at 3am by a loud cigarette session in the courtyard. The room was big, though, and the beds comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We were pleased with our stay last year and chose to return for another stay. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast has a variety of choices and the coffee is good. Parking is not a problem.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express (even before it was an Express) many, many times in the past ten plus years. The staff is exceptional, the atmosphere warm and friendly. The room is clean and comfortable and the location couldn"t be better. We enjoy the breakfast and the restaurant staff is outstanding. It feels like home every time we visit.

My wife and I stayed one night at this location as we were moving from California to Nevada. The room size was not what were are accustomed to for the price. The room was much smaller than the typical name brand hotels. The bathroom was especially small hard for two people to move around in it. The bed was just so so and there was only one other chair in the room.
The lobby area was scenic but noisy. Breakfast was nothing special. This location has received several awards for being a nice hotel but for us it was over priced for what was provided.

I was in the area on business and was working several days of 3rd shift work. I passed this bit of info on to the hotel staff. They accomodated my schedule and went as far as locating me in a lesser occupied section of the hotel. I was able to sleep undisturbed. Well worth the price of admission. I would opt to stay here whenever in the Walnut Creek area.
