Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Would stay again Nothing glaringly wrong. No Microwave. It took me an evening to figure out I had a small fridge after the desk clerk told me the room did not have one. I was not impressed with the breakfast selection either morning and settled for Raisin Bran. But the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was a nice-sized flat TV. The TV channel selection could have been better (What? No weather channel?). If you stay here, go next door and eat at the Lion's Den - WOW! A special thanks to J. (from Kent) who took my reservation and helped me with a travel route. When you Google this hotel for a map, it gives you a confusing route of turns upon turns though this lake district. June 4, 2014

That doesn't happen as much as it should anymore and it was a nice thing. The staff is excellent the room comfortable and I will always choose this property when I am in the area. June 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT SERVICE AND ROOM FOR THE PRICE I STAYED IN A JACUZZI SUITE AT THE HOTEL FOR 2 NIGHTS AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT I WAS VERY IMPRESSED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM FROM PRICE TO ROOM SIZE AND QUALITY TO THE DIFFERENT AMENITIES OFFERED. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THE CONSTRUCTION ON PONTIAC LAKE ROAD (WHICH IS NO FAULT OF THE HOTEL) WHICH MADE PARKING A BIT TRICKY. June 3, 2014

Suites include couch, table & chairs, refig and microwave that make it nice for week long business stay. And are on same floor as workout room. There's also 2 sets of Meeting tables in a downstairs common space for short group get togethers/meetings, not needing to rent out a meeting room where I've had colleagues meet me for planning. Located close walking distance to a Walgreens, and several restaurants if you are stuck without a car. April 1, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable, excellent service! I booked our suite online and was very happy with the ease of my check in when we arrived. The two suites next to us were booked with a teenage girl gymnastics party. We never heard a peep from them through the walls. I'm sure they were up all night giggling and having a great time, but the only time we heard them was when they were in the halls, which was still pretty quiet, perfectly understandable and not disruptive to our stay at all. The room smelled and looked clean. The bed was immaculate and incredibly comfortable! The jaccuzzi was warm and roomy. The pool was warm. We took advantage of the breakfast bar as well and it was delicious! Filled with many choices to fit every taste. Food was warm and tasty. The staff was very pleasant while we waited only a short while for them to inspect our room upon leaving (because I chose to pay with cash and was awaiting the return of my deposit). If I had to pick one thing that was not quite right, the warming bulb in the bathroom was out, but this was insignificant and mattered so little that I forgot to even mention it to the staff..which I am sure would have replaced it if I had. I also enjoyed that we were in control of the temp in the room, it was perfect all night! We will definitely be going back!! February 26, 2014

The front desk was extremely courteous and helpful when checking in that evening after a long day and in recomending a local restaurant. She was very pleasant when assisting me that evening. I was working in my room when housekeeping came to clean it, again very courteous and pleasant. This will become my hotel of choice when in the Auburn Hills area!!!! February 24, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Heater needs fixing. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Waterford, MI and settled on a handycap room (RM 216) which I requested since it was the last King bed available. The room was very hot. I tried to change the thermostat on the window unit to cool but it did not work. The fan setting did not solve the problem. I even tried to turn the unit off but to my surprise the unit came on by itself in the off setting. The unit must have been wired to bypass the controls in the room and connected to some other thermostst setting that I did not have access to. I had to sleep on top of the covers, otherwise it would have been too hot. Also, there was no mini fridge in the room when I opened up the cabinet where there usually is a fridge and microwave. I had some food items that needed a fridge and I could not leave it in the car otherwise it would have froze. Lucikily I had a cooler I filled up with ice for my food. I usually have a pleasent stay at the Hol Inn Ex but this location had a few problems. February 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice... Still Remodeling, Underground Rooms We stayed here before a flight out of PTK, the airport just around the corner. Parking was easy. Check in was simple. Everyone was polite. When we stayed there they were still remodeling, so we were still in one of the "old" rooms. The hotel was clean and if you can ignore the items that were clearly just for the remodel, it was a very nice hotel in the public areas and I am sure the new rooms will be great. My room was on the bottom floor, which is partially underground. Not something I am crazy about, as it makes you feel a little cramped compared to being at ground level or above. All in all, I would stay here again, without question, when I am in the area. I look forward to checking it out once the remodel is complete. January 20, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed Bag Pros: The room was very nice and I slept well. Two out of the three front desk clerks that I encountered were friendly and helpful. Cons: the breakfast was unappetizing with very few healthy choices, one of the front desk clerks yelled at our group rudely, and there were no room guides as to how to use the technology (i.e. wireless password, tv channel numbers). I also had a horribly unprofessional experience with a front desk clerk when reserving my room over the phone- she was very rude and not at all helpful. I was in town for two nights for a wedding, but when I return I plan on staying elsewhere. October 27, 2013
