Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stephx Comfortable room and friendly staff
The room was very clean and had everything we needed for the 2 nights we stayed at the hotel. The trains weren't too noisy considering how close the hotel is to the station so I was happy about this!
I didn't have breakfast at the hotel so I can't comment on this.
Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming to us.
The only bad thing was the odd noisy neighbour in the next room banging the doors in the middle of one of the nights we stayed so we didn't get a whole lot of sleep then. But obviously the hotel isn't to blame for this.
Very happy with the service and would stay here again the next time we visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour! As the location is very handy for this and the bus to the studio stops just outside the hotel!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by motheroftwins The perfect hotel to visit Harry Potter tour and London
just next to the station, the Harry Potter tour bus stops there, and then you can go by train to London Euston, just minutes from the hotel! :) Great staff, great room, breakfast, clean. Perfect to go with family. We highly recommend it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Evans123 Comfortable bed friendly staff and very clean
Stayed on a stopover visiting the Harry Potter Attraction -was perfectly located for Watford Junction station .The room was everything we needed -comfortable and very clean -the staff were very friendly -the only downside was the breakfast -was a bit disappointing-might be an idea to locate the toaster to another area as that was holding the queue up and some additional seating would be good at peak times or maybe stop families holding tables for people in the queue as it was a bit frustrating trying to find somewhere to sit -was almost taking it back up to my room .

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jade180890 No parking!!
This hotel was ok! Had a variety of breakfast foods to choose from although I was disappointed in the cooked breakfast choices as there was only vegetarian sausages ( which I only found out after I'd eaten) scrambeled eggs and beans! Not what you'd call an English breakfast really! I was very disappointed With the lack of car park spaces for the size of the hotel overall there was about 15 spaces and if you couldn't find one you had to park In the pub car park and PAY!!!!!! Room was ok but don't think I got wished to enjoy my stay although staff was friendly and polite.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nicky88 Excellent location
I stayed at Watford Junction with my son to visit the Harry Potter tour - great location - tour bus parked at Watford Junction station, which is a 2 minute walk up an alley alongside the railway. This was a good base for travelling into Central London too. On arrival the staff were very friendly and the hotel very clean. We were located on 5th floor at the front of the hotel which was quiet. The room was very clean with tea and coffee, a kettle, a hairdryer and tv. Breakfast during weekdays is 6.30 to 9.30; hot food: scrambled eggs sausage and beans. Other food consisted of fruit, yoghurts, muffins, croissants, toast, cereal - something for everyone. We ate in the restaurant one evening during our stay and had the steak which was fine. On depature we asked if we could leave our bags as our train was later in the day; the staff were very friendly and stored them in a locked room for as long as we wanted. Overall a brilliant hotel, good location, would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Apoorva Poor Internet in room
I stayed in Holiday InnExpress on 20/08 for a night and had a comfortable stay. I had booked a Entertainment Package but found that the internet signal in the room kept on dropping every 4-5 minutes. It was virtually ususable. Having bought a room with Entertainment Package ( internet plus movies), I was not impressed with the internet facility in the room. This can be improved by the hotel.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PGE51 Helfpul staff but disappointing food
There is no restaurant service on a Sunday evening (which was not made clear before we arrived) and the chef was absent on the Monday evening too with no replacement! We had to get a takeaway on the Sunday and eat out Monday, neither of which are ideal after a tiring day when you want to relax in the hotel you have booked! Having said that the food in the pub about half a mile away was lovely!!
Breakfast was disappointing and below standard for a Holiday Inn. Although the staff were friendly, the beds for my children were not particularly comfy. Won't stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Norbo72 HIE never let you down
Yet again I find myself leaving another Holiday Inn Express with a warm glow rather than in a disgruntled manner. Arrived at the premesis a bit hot and sweaty, jaded and with bags under my eyes that befits any parent with a three month old child.Check in was efficient and courteous and immediately this lifted my spirits. Room was spotless and hotel was pristine throughout.Great location for those not wanting a long trek from the rail station. Decent boozer(The Flag) that I have already earmaked to return to should we ever be in the area again. Excellent shuttle bus service to Harry Potter World which was the main reason for our visit. Was hoping for a legover myself, something Potters 'wizadry' never made happen-always had him down as an imposter that Potter.
One thing to note at the hotel is if you arrive as much as 30 secs late after the deadline for breakfast-well put it this way, your going hungry!!
Around come the shutters and your left to salivate. :-(

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by summersdale Excellent location. Fab room. Great service
I had booked a family room for me, my daughter and two children aged 13 and 10. The room was very good, spotless and very modern, the children really liked it. The double bed was comfortable, I shared this with my 11 grandson. My daughter and 13 granddaughter shared the bed settee. Unfortunately this wasn't as comfortable as it looked and both complained about the ridges in the mattress. But overall, we would all stay there again. The breakfast was adequate and plentiful. Perfect location for Harry Potter

We stayed here for a wedding nearby and everything was very good. The bedrooms were well serviced, clean and comfortable and shower-gel is supplied in the bathroom. The staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast choice was excellent (though bacon would have been nice). Car parking a slight issue but there is an overflow car park nearby.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TigerAngel Great service, great choice!
This hotel was our base whilst up for the Harry Potter Tour. Couldn't have chosen a better hotel. It is only a couple of minutes from the Station which was perfect as we travelled by train, and the shuttle bus goes from there to the Studios. The room was more than comfortable. Added bonus of getting breakfast, and the option of bar snacks/meals at the end of the day. The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. We are definitely planning to return. Thoroughly recommend this hotel!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cat0111 Overall fantastic
From the time we got there to the moment we left we were made to feel incredibly welcome, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Sometimes you can tell when someone is only smiling or saying good morning etc because they are paid to do so but this was most definitely not the case here, I really can't sing their praises enough (especially the man and the woman- sorry, I can't recall their names- who were working on reception Friday 16th Aug evening/night).
The hotel was clean and in order (the communal areas and the rooms), the room was much more spacious than I was expecting and comfortable too. We felt relaxed and at ease the whole time we stayed.
Breakfast made (and I quote my son) "breakfast at home seem vastly inferior" and was greatly enjoyed.
It was the lowest price hotel I found for the area and to be honest it really didn't show, I would DEFINITELY stay here again if I was in Watford again and I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Boardpen Fabulous location for a Harry Potter visit
The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and the use of the car park, lift and breakfast area was clearly explained. My reward club membership was recognised and advantages were explained clearly. There were enough cups and towels in the room for the additional adult, the sofa bed had been made up and the room was welcoming and very clean. The mattress on the double bed was a little too springy which meant that any movement of one occupant disturbed the other.
Whilst the dining room was large and clean, the buffet area was too small for the amount of guests. It was difficult to move around the buffet area whilst carrying a plate or tray and there was no space on the counter to put anything down whilst organising food and drinks. The hot food was hot and the cutlery and crockery were clean.
This hotel is ideally located if you are visiting the Harry Potter tour.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Su04 Convenient and good value for money
I brought my daughter to London to visit the Harry Potter Tour at the Warner Bros Studio, and booked the hotel for three nights because it was close to Watford Junction Station, (just five minutes walk door to door), where we knew we would be able to catch a bus to the Studios.
The hotel staff were polite and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. My daughter and I enjoyed a drink and a reasonably priced meal at the hotel bar on the second night. There wasn't a vast menu but what they had looked very nice.

We had a lovely stay in Watford. This hotel is very close to Watford Junction station 20 min to Euston lots of trains but make sure that you get the fast ones. Harry potter world is close too. Staff were so nice and very helpful . Only downside is limited parking but we managed with the staff,s help. Would stay again when we go back to London thanks to staff. Would be nice if bacon was on the breakfast menu.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MrsB612 Very helpful staff
Chosen because of proximity and ease of access to Harry Potter Studio tour, this hotel exceeded my expectations. I booked a family room for myself and 3 teenagers. The room was small but more than adequate for us as we spent little time in it. The two who slept on the pull-out sofa bed declared it not very comfortable and would have liked a couple of extra pillows. The staff were very helpful with suggestions of places to eat on Saturday and Sunday evening. They looked after our luggage after we checked out so that we could spend the day shopping in London before leaving. Breakfast area was clean and breakfast supplies plentiful and varied - more than enough to fill up 3 hungry teens before a big day out. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting somewhere affordable, comfortable and close to transport (but no noise problem) for visiting London (20 minute express train trip to Euston) and the Harry Potter Studio tour (bus leaves from Watford Junction station just around the corner from the hotel).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HubbyofHarryPotterFan Pretty good. Would have given 5 stars for wifi in rooms.
Quite comfortable, convenient and reasonable for what we wanted to do (Harry Potter and a brief tour around London before proceeding inland). Bus and trains were convenient. You can be back in the middle of London within an hour. If you are looking for a view you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for good local pub grub and shopping you wont be. There is a big mall nearby with all economic levels - Upscale all the way down to swap meet. - It's not the Bull ring area in Birmingham but it will do. I was looking at crystal on one end and used records at the other. Free Wifi in the lobby but not in the rooms. You pay extra for a wired internet & premium cable TV in the rooms. I didn't bother, I just sat in the bar/lobby/lounge downstairs, so did a lot of others, but it was a little inconvenient. Everything else clean and comfortable. Staff excellent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fuzzball65 Very neat and tidy Hotel
We stayed here basically for its location, a five minute walk from Watford Junction Station and near to the Harry Potter World.
We stayed for six nights and used the hotel as a base for getting into London, leaving after breakfast and getting back between nine and ten at night. We also went to the Harry Potter World.
Therefor we were really pleased with the hotel. The room we stayed in was a family room, one double bed and a sofa bed.It was well maintaned and had plenty of space.
We were a bit concerned about the noise from trains but we hardly heard them, we were on the fourth floor this might have helped!!
The breakfast was adequate with enough choice for adults and children.
My only gripe was the fact you have to pay for internet use especially nowadays when most places provide free wifi.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Karen1960 Great hotel
Had a 3 night stay for a family wedding, and we were very impressed with all aspects of the hotel. Room was excellent, very clean and it was fantastic to have air conditioning on the hottest day of the year! The bed was a little soft, but that would be the only criticism. Also, Joe(?) on reception was excellent. He was very polite and helpful, and did a great job of organising at a very busy breakfast period. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

The rooms were clean and neat and the staff was very accommodating. We travelled to Watford to visit Harry Potter Studios with my wife and three teenage daughters. The staff had no problem having us set up with two adjoining rooms and a common door between them. The breakfast variety was excellent.
