Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent time! We just finished our 9th trip to Aruba...and our 3rd time at the Holiday Inn...all their hard work with renovations have paid off...all we can say is WOW...we stayed in the refurbished Sea Tower...clean room, comfortable bed, great view...a welcome basket of fruit...what a great touch...the pool and surrounding area was so clean..the bathrooms by the pool were cleaned at least 4 times a getting the hut the day before...who wants to set an alarm on vacation...check in and checkout were fast and efficient were the employees at the concierge desk...we only ate lunch at the resort..mostly fruit and salads...they were good and affordable..the location is perfect with a mall and several restaurants and shops across the street...would we stay here again? 100% yes...we are looking to book our 10 consecutive visit at the holiday inn next year.. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Vacation Location The hotel and staff were among the best. Very clean, comfortable room and surroundings. Excellent sandy beach. Highly recommended for a vacation. November 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really Nice hotel in a great location. Don't think of Holiday Inn Aruba as a last resort option. Since their re-hab last year this is a really lovely place, with wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings both public and sleeping rooms and a nice breakfast buffet. The rates are very reasonable if you look for a package deal from an airline, or gambling club. Standing on line for a palapa is a bit much, but if you want guaranteed shade, that's the deal at all the hotels. At least you do that late afternoon instead of at the crack of dawn.. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are cleaned every day. We were long-time fans of a now-gone hotel down the beach but since it was bought by another chain we had to look for another home away from home. Holiday Inn Aruba is it! November 22, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Occupied Room We arrived late on Thursday, last flight into Aruba so was checking in along with the airline crew/pilots at around 10-10:30 pm. As a platinum member my room was assigned to me prior to check in and that overall check-in went smoothly. I was told our room was upgraded to an Oceanfront room. We were happy with the reward and went to room and opened the door and to our surprise the room had all of a past guests clothes/luggage still in it along with the room not being cleaned. Went back to front desk and told the employee. They went to back room to figure out what happened and apparently that room was occupied by a frequent guest and he just left. They have some kind of agreement that they store his clothes until he comes back but the room was not cleaned. I would of understood more if we were checking in at 3 pm but this was after 10 pm so somebody should have checked the room to know beforehand. But that left me without our upgraded room and was moved to the farthest tower from the lobby. It was apparently a suite because it had a living room but it is similar to the quality of all older US Holiday Inns. We would of much rather had the oceanfront room since we were in Aruba but it was late and we were getting tired so took the room. Went to the new room and low and behold it was the room right next to elevator and since it had living room and bedroom, the bedroom was actually right behind the elevator so we could hear it go up and down all night long. We weren't willing to go and make a big deal about it since we didn't figure we would be in our room much but it ended up being something we were ready to be done with by the time we left since we got to hear it anytime we were in the room. Was the worst thing that could of happened, absolutely not but at the same time it did impact the trip. Besides that, the hotel is nice. Being a platinum member allowed us to reserve a spot on the beach the entire duration of our stay. The beach is in good shape and we were able to get a good spot thanks to status. Bars were nice and we took advantage of Happy Hour since it was half price drinks. The restaurants were good but pricier than other area restaurants so we only ate breakfast and lunch there once and out at other restaurants the rest of the trip. Overall it is in a good location on Palm Beach and centrally located. November 21, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old property on a well located strip of beach, terrible service. This was my first stay at a "resort" type holiday inn, to be honest the general location, facility is fine, although it badly needs some updating in some areas like the rooms and balcony and overall the building looks old. The service was very blah.. I was greeted with the 'I'm so tired of this job, welcome to the holiday inn" look and then when my platinum status popped up they just said " thank you for your loyalty " other than that, I have not felt like i was appreciated in the property at all. I wasn't offered an upgrade or a late checkout or daily newspaper for that matter, i'm not sure what went wrong in this training. The next day i had an early event an wasn't able to have breakfast and i requested to move the breakfast to the next day since i was staying on reward the 2nd day.. apparently that for them is impossible and I have done this before with no questions asked. I requested the help to move me with the golf cart to the palm pier since i was running late, an the only solution was, 'WALK THERE, ITS NEAR'...i even mentioned i was going to pay for the transfer, but they denied that privilege even after i told them i was a platinum member. On the other hand, the hammocks in the garden were a delight to sit in and the people at the towel booth were very nice and the security guys as well.. November 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Don't get a room on the odd number side of the Sea Breeze Tower Although I recommend this property for its location and friendly staff, don't get a room in the Sea Breeze tower on the odd number side of the hall, unless you're a partier and plan to stay up late. There is a club located on that side that plays music until well into the night. With the door closed, one can't hear the music, but the base is unbelievably LOUD! If you retire early or want to relax in your room, or, if you have small children, you won't be able to sleep without ear plugs. We spoke with management about this but they can't really do anything because the club is licensed by the government. On a brighter note, the location of the hotel is perfect! There is a mall and many shops and restaurants just across the street. November 19, 2014
