If coming on the train, I would get off at haymarket instead of Waverly, walk onto a tram and be deposited literally att he front door of the hotel in York Place. Platinum recognition at the desk and newspaper and points voucher sorted straightaway. The roo is great and they do a Tunnocks chocolate bar in the complimentary fidge (vs the teacake in Glasgow). staff are friendly. Breakfast room and bar are where it fails to deliver say again in comparison to Glasgow. It feels cramped and a bit chaotic in the mornings. There were severe problems with the wifi during my stay necessitating an engineer callout. It didn't affect me much as I carry a mi-fi but quite a few guests were having a go at the reception staff over that. All in all staff handled things well, room and bathroom products were great and I definetely plan to stay again. May 25, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible time finding the hotel Terrible time finding the hotel as no signs outside the hotel. Drove round and round and was not even sure if we were in the right road. Satnav didn't help much. We only found the capark as eventually one of us walked to the hotel after stopping in a side street 200 metres away and was given a helpful map. One we were parked things improved dramatically but for first time visitors it was not easy. Even Edinburgh a roads could do with some line repainting. May 14, 2015
