Insider Tips

Get up close and personal with the resort’s harmless, free-roaming iguanas – some up to three-feet long! Learn about the survival skills of iguanas, where they like to sun bathe and how they are cared for at the property. Feed these indigenous creatures grapes and lettuce leaves or visit the property’s three Iguana Temples, tunneled structures built by the resort to provide iguanas the ideal resting spot.
With breathtaking views of the crystalline Caribbean, this Cozumel luxury hotel and spa is ideally situated on a beautiful Mexican island. Set on half a mile of white sandy beach, you can swim, snorkel or scuba dive the clear waters of the world’s second-largest coral reef, where indigenous colourful fish abound. If relaxation is your aim, enjoy two outdoor pools, experience signature spa treatments in oceanfront huts or savour the menu and beach views at El Cabeño open-air restaurant.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely Resort The Presidente is situated on a most beautiful piece of property. The views of the Caribbean Sea, the sandy beach and the gorgeous sunsets are a magical combination. The gardens are lush and tropical and well maintained. The main palapa is a lovely spot for breakfast and lunch or even a casual evening meal. Beach lounges are abundant and a shady spot is available for those who want to avoid the sun. We enjoyed drinks and lunch at the more casual outdoor restaurant, as well. The main disappointment in the resort facilities is that neither of the pools is heated and sadly, go unused! We watched many guests, both adults and children, get into the pool and quickly get out because the water was so cold! This was particularly disappointing because the weather was quite windy during our stay, making the ocean choppy and un-swimmable, as well. A resort of this caliber needs to have a heated pool! Some of the other things we did enjoy, were the candles on our porch which we lit each evening, and the hammock swing on the porch! We also painted some pottery one afternoon at the "pottery shack" by the pool and each brought home a great souvenir from our trip. The young woman who assisted us was very helpful in making our finished products look beautiful! All in all, we had a very nice experience at the Presidente, and its location provides a great sense of privacy and seclusion while still being close enough to town to make visits and dinners there easy! 29 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Presidente Cozumel Perfection My wife and I stayed 5 days here seeking to relax and get away from the stresses of work. The Presidente exceeded our expectations. The room was beautiful, contemporary, and unique. Our beachfront access allowed easy access to the beach, bar, and restaurant. We enjoyed uninterrupted sleep, the quiet sounds of the ocean, a beautiful view, and an incredibly friendly and dedicated staff. The hotel staff could not have been nicer. Everyone from the maids who came to turn down our room to the concierge who made us dinner reservations and arranged for a cab. We only ever had to ask for things once, and they got done on time and to our satisfaction. The staff maintained this property to extreme levels of perfection. Everything was clean, the landscaping was pristine, and the beach was raked every day. I would live here permanently if that were possible. 29 January 2015
