Insider Tips

Warm sunny days and cooler evenings

South East Queensland weather is a comfortable, sub-tropical climate. Temperatures average mid to high 20 degrees celsius all year round. When it rains on the Gold Coast, being sub-tropical any storm activity or grey skies tend to clear up quickly, and the sunny Gold Coast skies reappear.
InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand and graceful architecture of a Queensland estate, unlike any other venue. Located a short distance away from the tourist mecca of the Gold Coast, the resort allows easy access to the Gold Coast theme parks which are only a 10 minute drive away. The luxury resort is tucked within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove and boasts a marina, acclaimed golf courses, one acre lagoon beach pool and lush garden landscapes.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SECOND TIME HERE Had the Homestead Suite .... not a bad room but still needs improving. Being able to see the mattresses on the base of the bed was not what we expected (beds are comfy but there is no cover around the matrress base). Louvre doors into the wardrobe and bathroom areas are a novel idea however they did not stay open. Maybe some magnetic door stoppers to hold them in place might help. We enjoy the intercontinental brand - this place has the setting, just needs to keep improving the quality. Dinner at the Fireplace restaurant was delicious as was the breakfast. Plenty of choice. Would stay again. 24 October 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok, not 5 stars Service was ok on check in/out, however we asked staff for information with regard to travel to the nearby Country Club for a wedding we were attending, the information provided by the staff member was incorrect which therefore made us late to the wedding we were attending. During our stay we requested some spoons and bowls to have our cereal in the morning, we were advised these would be delivered to our room but they failed to ever arrive and when we followed up in the morning on there where abouts no one knew we even asked for them. The resort rooms would greatly benefit from a refurbishment. The pool was out for maintenance the entire time which was disappointing luckily the beautiful lagoon pool was still open. The hotel is not suitable for those with a pram/stroller, due to no lift and only stairs, although we requested a ground floor (and did not receive). We also organised with the hotel in advance for a cot, when we arrived to the room there was no cot in the room and had to follow up, we eventually received one. Overall I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars, I would defiantly stay again though as it is the nicest hotel in the Hope Island area. 24 October 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mr fericelli I I believe that the rates are way too high taking into account the quality of the rooms. The common areas are Ok, but the furniture of the rooms looks like from the 70s. For that kind of rates I can get a much better room at the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast. I'll be worth revising those rates to make it more accessible to families. I would not recommend this resort to anybody, just because of the price and what you get in return. 22 October 2014
