We were at the Staybridge University of Rochester for three nights over Christmas. Our two adult sons were with us so we reserved a two bedroom suite. We were in the back which has river views. Must be really pretty spring, summer, fall. Winter in Rochester tends to be gray.
The suite had a nice sitting room where we opened our gifts Cristmas morning. Not the same as being at home with a Christmas tree but that's not the hotels fault. They had a big tree in the dining area and many decorations around the hotel.
The breakfast was better than any of the complimentary breakfasts I've had elsewhere. Good selection. The dining area can get kind of cramped when everyone comes in at the same time. A few more chairs would be helpful.
All in all a outstanding experience
PS we chose the Staybridge because they let you bring your dog. He had a good time too.

This is an excellent hotel with super value built in. We were looking to stay over one night at a good hotel with a reasonable cost, and this facility provided it - in spades. Not only was the price right, and a full hot breakfast was included, but we happened to stay one of the nights when they offered their "socialization time", so we got supper thrown in! The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place.

My wife and I along with our two sons stayed three nights over Thanksgiving. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay. The suites were large and nicely furnished. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen. Pleasent and helpful personel. We'll be staying there again.

We stayed during a visit to Strong Hospital. We found the property to be very well maintained. The staff were welcoming and professional throughout our stay. The breakfast is excellent, a nice touch. When I went up to get more hot water for my tea and found the thermos to be empty, an attendant recognized that I needed assistance and promptly took my cup and went back to get more hot water for me. The pool area is well designed, with the shower and bathroom accessible from the pool area (smart). The room was very nice (if I were to nit pick, the only complaint would have been squeaky doors to the bedroom areas, which we were afraid would wake up the children). The location is a mixed bag; on the one side it seems that it is not in the best area of town, but if you look towards the river, it has great access to U of R and a nice patio leading to the water, so bring your fishing poles! Overall, our kids loved it, they loved the room, the pool and going out to Dinosaur Barbecue. We will definitely stay there again.

Lovely (and very clean) room; friendly and knowledgeable staff; yummy breakfasts - this was a *great* place to stay. We were in a one-bedroom suite, with a fabulous view of the river. Left the curtains open so we were greeted by the sun each morning. Reasonable rates and a nicely appointed kitchen. And there's a DVD player in the room - bring your own movies for yourself or the children! Exercise room is open all day and night - no need to worry about coming in too late to exercise. You couldn't build a better hotel, or get a better staff. :o)

I stayed here for two weeks and was very pleased with my experience. The price was incredibly reasonable for the superior cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of the staff, the great light meals during the week, the gym, the pool, the fire pit on the porch, the huge variety and quality of the continental breakfasts, and the wonderful view of the Genesee River and the U of R. Would absolutely stay here again.

I brought my 2 small children with me as we were going to the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester ... this hotel was an excellent place to stay! I really enjoyed the 1 bedroom suite - we were able to have a crib in the living room and the rest of us slept in the bedroom. We cooked in the kitchen, as a way to keep down the expense. And swam in the pool & hot tub! The breakfast was amazing ... we made our own waffles among other delicions foods that were there! What a beautiful location too ... we walked around outside, behind the hotel and fed some ducks swimming by. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be keeping an eye out for this chain when we are traveling elsewhere.

I like that this is a Pet Friendly hotel. The staff was very friendly and they were able to accomadate me and my pet on a last minute notice. The room was very clean. I also liked that it was in walking distance to the University of Rochester, where my son attends.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jamie315 Crowded breakfast & obnoxious pool
We have stayed at this specific property and a couple of other Staybridge properties.
The breakfast area at this Staybridge is poorly designed and does not flow at all. The food kept running out and everytime they brought more food out it was undercooked and there was no where near they necessary amount of seating needed.
The room and the general areas of the hotel were awesome as usual.
However the pool was over crowded both times that we went down to use it (7-9pm and 10am-11am). There must have been a children's party going on because both times we went down there were the same 15 kids and a few adults. The kids were totally out of control while the adults just laid there and pretended they weren't raising a ruckus. One of the main reasons we choose this hotel is because of the nice pool, hot tub and outdoor gas fireplace (it was raining so we didn't get to enjoy this).
This is actually the first time that we were so disappointed with this property but it might mean that it was our last.

It was my first stay as at a Staybridge but it certainly won't be my last. As a platinum member my upgrade was ready for me without asking, something that does not happen all that often. The staff was very cordial and helpful with any questions I had. Great room. Thanks.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ml54 Our second stay. We love the place!
We had a great time. Actually, the nicest staff of ANY hotel. Great value, clean etc...Only negative-your elevator is really slow or overused by staff and guests. Do you not have a service elevator for your employees?
