Meet For A Reason (the ‘Promotion’) is a limited time offer which is available at participating IHG® hotels in the United Kingdom and Europe. The Promotion is available to global meeting and event planners and applies to selected group, meeting and event bookings of 10 guest rooms or more and which have a minimum value of $5,000 or more (or local currency equivalent). To qualify for the Promotion, the group, meeting or event booking must be booked with a mutually signed contract between 1 October 2023 and 31 January 2024, and bookings must be consumed by 30 April 2024. Bookings must be made through IHG direct channels including: IHG hotels in the UK and Europe, IHG.com, IHG.com/meetings, IHG Groups Centre (ihg.com/meetings) , IHG Meetings Centre (for IHG Sales managed accounts only), Cvent.com, and VenueDirectory.com. Check at time of enquiry if a hotel is participating in this Promotion.
Promotion is available for new bookings and existing groups, meeting and event enquiries (which are currently being negotiated) which are booked between 1 October 2023 and 31 January 2024 and consumed by 30 April 2024. An event contract must be signed with a participating hotel on or before 31 January 2024 for the terms of this Promotion to be valid and details of this Promotion must be included in the contract. The Promotion is not valid if a group, meeting or event is cancelled or rescheduled to a date after 30 April 2024 or for any citywide bookings. Promotion is not available for repeat bookings and does not apply to groups, meetings or events bookings which are contracted prior to 1 October 2023 or which are made in conjunction with another promotional offer. Promotion is subject to availability, exclusions and black-out dates may apply and all bookings are subject to terms included in the hotel contract.
There are three components to the Meet for a Reason Promotion as follows:
Component one: Pick a Perk – Bookings in this Promotion may be eligible for a benefit to be included as part of their booking and which may vary by hotel and are subject to availability at participating hotels. Options include one of the following:
(i) complimentary welcome drinks reception on the day or evening of arrival for all delegates in a private or public area of the hotel, subject to availability. Drinks available to be defined by the participating hotel.
(ii) one complimentary guest room for every 40 rooms booked and consumed: Subject to availability. Please note that city tax charges or breakfast charges may still apply.
(iii) up to 5% off the master bill. Rebate includes 5% off the pre-tax master account folio, at the discretion of the hotel, for consumed guest rooms, non-labor, food and beverage and catering, and meeting room rental charges, up to a maximum discount of US $10,000 or the equivalent in local currency. Rebate of up to 5% off the pre-tax master account folio excludes third party charges such as outsourced or contracted audio visual, florists or décor third party vendors). All other charges on the master account folio must be paid in full, and do not qualify for the discount. Food & beverage minimums may apply.
Component two: Faster booking options with short-form contracts
Bookings in this promotion may be eligible to enjoy faster booking options using a short-form contract template for groups from 10 - 50 delegates. The short-form agreement is a condensed agreement with an optional attrition and cancellation clause to be used for short-term bookings (arriving within 6 months), with less than 50 rooms on peak. IHG makes no representations, legal or otherwise, about the sufficiency of the contract, for any purpose. The contract may be provided depending on local hotel contracting.
Component three: Do Good – donation of points to the Global FoodBanking Network For every $5,000 of confirmed and consumed revenue from bookings made under this Promotion from 1 October 2023 to 31 January 2024, IHG will donate the monetary value of 7,000 IHG One Rewards points (estimated equivalent of 392 meals) via the Global FoodBanking Network up to a maximum total of 24 million IHG One Reward points.
