La Fenice Theatre, Venice’s main opera house, is a true symbol of rebirth: destroyed by two fires (in 1836 and 1996), it was faithfully rebuilt, preserving its elegant 18th-century style. Since 2003, it has once again hosted operas and concerts in a setting rich with gold, velvet, and intricate décor. Located in the San Marco district, it is one of the world’s most prestigious theatres, built in the classic Italian style with five tiers of closed boxes.
