Must See

Must See

Red Square is only six stops by metro from Sokolniki Station, a three-minute walk from the hotel. This historic plaza is home to several of Moscow’s main attractions, including the multi-coloured domes of St Basil’s Cathedral, and the State Historical Museum – a treasure house of Byzantine art and imperial relics. Also in the square is GUM department store, a marvel of 19th-century architecture.

Must Do

Even newcomers to ballet may find themselves spellbound by a performance at Moscow's famous Bolshoi Theatre. Only 10 minutes from the hotel by metro, it is home to the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet, as well as serving as the city's grand opera house. An equally impressive alternative is the Moscow State Circus, whose acrobats and animals wow the crowds under the Old Nikulin Big Top.
Don't Go Home Without

Don't Go Home Without

Ask our friendly staff about taking a boat tour along the Moskva River. It's a great way to see the city, especially in summer, when Muscovites come out to enjoy the sunny banks. You can hop aboard a cruiser near Kievskaya Metro Station, and the standard route will take you past city highlights like the Kremlin, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and the monument to Peter the Great.
Tips

Tips

Traffic can be heavy on Moscow’s roads, so it’s often faster to use the cheap and easy Moscow Metro system. It’s usually more enjoyable too: even a routine journey can become an art and history tour as you pass through spectacular Soviet-era metro stations – from the bronze statues and marble arches of Ploschad' Revolyutsii (Revolution Square) to the baroque vault of Komsomolskaya.
