Great service

Staff at the check-in was very friendly and explained clearly what had been taken care of for the Covid virus situation.
Welcome service was fantastic.
All staffs were friendly and professional.

Unexpected cold temperature

Dear IHG customer representative,

This is Sanghoon Lee writing from Seoul, Korea.

I and my wife went to IHG Holiday Inn hotel located in Songdo, Incheon, Korea from 15-17 Oct 2020.

We caught a cold for the hotel air conditioning because it did not function properly during the stay.

On the second day of the stay, we woke up in the middle of the night feeling freezing and tried to control the room temperature but it did not go up to the set temperature.

So we just bundled up and back to sleep but the shockingly cold and uncomfortable feeling stay last until the next day.

I couldn’t believe I stayed in the hotel but feeling like stayed in the street.

I felt so angry and it was a very unpleasant experience realizing the air conditioning only controlled by the central system not by the room user.

Also, we did not get any information about the ‘heating issue’ when we checked in.


The next day morning, I went to the front desk to check out and gave the concierge advice on this issue for IHG.

However, the staff just said ‘We are sorry’ and also saying ‘we can offer you a drink voucher that you could use today only’.

So I refused the drink voucher for we had another schedule. That was the end of the conversation.

Issuing a drink voucher just right before leaving the hotel is not a good idea and furthermore ‘sorry’ seems not the appropriate response they could say.

It was so disappointing and I might not stay at IHG hotel for my further itinerary.

Hope your staffs inform your customer about the ‘’Central Heating system’ and ‘heater’ that can be provided only if they were ASKED’.

Excellent hotel experience.

Exceptional customer service. Great location for restaurants, and riverwalk. Room was clean, comfortable with nice view. Breakfast was really good. Perfect end to our stay in South Korea. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I came back to South Korea. 30 mins to airport in a taxi.

Lediglich das Frühstück wurde nicht in Firm von Buffet angeboten.

Songdo itself wasn’t very much fascinating city than we expected but the hotel is world standard and great to stay. The parking space was enough and quality and service level of staff are world standard, compared to domestic popular hotels. Very professional and highly recommended who are seeking a calm stay

Songdo Getaway

I used the Songdo Getaway package and I love it. As a benefit to members of IHG Reward Club, I have offered welcome drinks, room upgrade, and late check-out.
The view of Central Park from the room was wonderful. It was like Marina Bay in Singapore or Pudong in Shanghai.
It was a comfortable stay because all the employees were kind and they took care of all my requests.
Breakfast was served fresh and warm plus kids for free. I'm planning to visit again in August. I'll see you soon. Thank you.

Please fix the aircon

The climate control in this hotel was bizarre. It would get too hot during the day but freezing in the morning because I'm guessing the central cooling unit is not powerful enough. You can have it running on max and have it stuck at like 26 degrees without budging. They lent us a fan which sort of helped but I couldn't help but feel that it could be improved. I thought breakfast buffet wasn't being served but it looks like it was, wasn't really told whether it was included or not so didn't take advantage. The cleaning services were mediocre, I could find crumbs and things left behind. Also, they left a cup with hair clippings in it?? Did they wash it with the same towel they cleaned the sink with where I shaved???
They also kept taking away the leftover amenities instead of just leaving them with new ones. We were also not left with a full set of amenities, we had to ask front desk to being ys some which is always a pain.

Poor service and management

The rooftop bar was closed during my entire stay, the restaurant at the lobby level was closed for dinner, and the cafe on the first floor didn’t have pastries, breads, or food. The gym didn’t require room keys so anyone could enter. The room condition was just ok with some stains on the wall and only one set of toiletries and gown were provided for two guests. The hotel maintained that they’re not part of the IHG group in Korea, so the name of the hotel (Holiday Inn) didn’t appear on my IHG credit card statement. (It appeared as “Hotel” instead of Holiday Inn, so I didn’t receive hotel mileage credits I was supposed to get.) When I requested the hotel to correct it, they refused it and told me nonsense that it’s their policy not to put “Holiday Inn” for credit cards. I’m very disappointed at the ways this particular hotel handled the situation (which didn’t resolve the issues I raised) and I regret I stayed at this hotel.
