Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Internet!! The hotel itself, cleanliness, etc were as they should be. The internet, however was down the entire time I was there. That is unacceptable for a business traveler. I understand that the problem may have been caused by the provider, but the staff was not particularly sympathetic. "It's not our fault." was the overriding attitude. August 14, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good but needing some improvement I stayed at Holiday Inn Garland for two nights in early August 2015, while visiting friends in the area. Best positives were the friendly and efficient staff along with ease of check-in and check-out. Room was neat and clean with standard furniture and lighting. However, I found the pillows uncomfortable and slept without pillows at night. Major drawback was a partially blocked bath tub and dated carpets in the hallways. One of the elevators was also broken the entire time that I was there. With a more aggressive maintenance culture and proactive customer relations (for example leaving a voice message on your room phone welcoming you and encouraging you to bring any difficulties to the attention of staff), guest experiences can be improved. Wanted to swim each day but after first swim canceled swim plans. After extra charge for drinks during breakfast decided to eat elsewhere to get more value out of dollar. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My stay at Holiday Inn I stayed at the holiday Inn in Garland, Texas for 3 days. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The cleaning and maintenance staff were very friendly. The front desk staff varied from friendly to completely uninterested. I think staff can eat their Cheetos in the break room instead of at the front desk. My main concerns were that there always seemed to be water on the floor somewhere--elevators, lobby, etc. There also needs to be some way to control the air blowing from the A/C. Vents that can be closed or adjusted would help. The room is either freezing from the air blowing or stifling because the fan had to be turned off. I finally ended up piling blanket and pillows on top of the unit, and that helped some if i could get them to stay there without being blown off onto the floor! For this reason alone, I'm got sure I'd stay at a Holiday Inn in the future. My other problem was that the business center was closed because new tile was being put on the floor. I realize improvements are sometimes necessary. But I was unable to print out my boarding pass at the hotel. Surely one monitor and a printer could have been moved out into the lobby or lounge area temporarily for guest use. July 29, 2015
