Ashoka Temple

Ashoka Temple was first established in 282 AD during the Western Jin Dynasty. It is the only existing ancient temple in China named after the Indian King Ashoka. Renowned for enshrining the authentic parietal bone relics of Sakyamuni, the temple holds a distinguished place in Chinese Buddhist history. During the Southern Song Dynasty, it was ranked among the "Five Mountains and Ten Monasteries" of the Jiangnan region.
