WaterWorks Park covers about eight acres with slides, pools, cabanas, and warm-weather fun for the whole family. Rides include the Bucking Bronco, the Whipper Snapper, and the Corkscrew flumes, plus a children's play area. The park sits just 1.4 miles from the hotel, an easy add-on for families. Two minutes beyond the Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay Exploration Park spreads across 300 acres along the Sacramento River. This mostly outdoor cultural center pairs the Turtle Bay Museum with wildlife exhibits, botanical gardens, playgrounds, and the Paul Bunyan Forest Camp. Kids can meet resident animals and explore interactive science exhibits. Paid admission covers the museum, forest camp, and gardens, while the bridge and trails stay free.

Drive 14 miles west of the hotel and you will reach Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, a year-round outdoor playground built around Whiskeytown Lake. Swim or kayak at Brandy Creek Beach, hike to waterfall trails, or rent a boat and spend the day on the water. The visitor center at Kennedy Memorial Drive and Highway 299 is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM with maps and passes. Fishing, biking, and scenic drives round out the options.
