Bayterek monument is the main symbol of Astana. It is the Kazakh version of Universe resembling the everlasting fight of good and evil. In the glass ball on top at the height of 90 meters you will find the splendid view of the whole city and impression of the palm of the 1st President Nazarbayev.

The Hazrat Sultan, as one of the largest mosque in Asia, occupies the area of 11 ha, able to house up to 10,000 people. The mosque premises area amounts to 17.8 ha and includes tabernacles, a hall for wedding ceremonies, rooms for Koran reading and having lessons for seminarians, as well as a cloakroom and аn ablution room. Thus, this is a fully functional mosque corresponding to all modern requirements. The mosque dome is 51 meters in height and 28 meters in diameter.

The Khan-Shatyr, another bright attraction of Astana modern architecture, is, at the same time, a huge city’s shopping and entertainment center. Furthermore, it is the world’s largest marquee: its height along the spire is 150 meters, and total area is 127,000 sq.m. Under the marquee dome, there are different shopping and entertainment facilities: brand shops and boutiques, offices, supermarket, companies’ offices, café, restaurants, playgrounds, family parks, cinema theatres and Aqua Park.

The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation is a symbol of friendship, unity and peace in Kazakhstan. The author of the project is a famous British architect Lord Norman Robert Foster. The Pyramid has a pure form, 62 meters high and 62 meters base. The top of the pyramid is decorated with a work of art the artist Brian Clarke. There is a picture of 130 doves that symbolize 130 nationalities living in Kazakhstan. There are the Opera Hall with 1302 seats, party hall Atrium, Hall “Besyk”, exhibition.

The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the youngest and largest museum in Central Asia. The museum has been created in the framework of the "Cultural Heritage" State Program on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The museum building is an eye catcher with its unusual external form. The largest unique museum complex has an area of 74,000 sq.m. and consists of seven blocks with a variable number of storeys to the ninth floor.

Situated on the left bank of the River Ishim, the Astana Opera House is striking in its splendor. The building itself is 64,000 square metres. Of these, about 3,000 square metres is the stage area. The Astana Opera House impresses not only by its scale, but also by its architectural refinement. It is constructed on the basis of the best classical architectural traditions and entwined therein, are Kazakh national motifs. The Main Hall of the theatre is designed for 1,250 people.
