Learn about Britain's codebreakers during the Second World War at the historic Bletchley Park, six miles from the hotel. At the Visitor Centre, you can download a multimedia guide to enhance your tour of the site, with adult and family versions available. Step back in time in the restored Codebreaking Huts and see the display of Enigma machines in the museum.
Feel like flying? Drive seven minutes from the hotel to the Xscape retail and entertainment centre, where you can enjoy the thrill of indoor skydiving at Airkix Milton Keynes. You'll begin by learning the basics of skydiving from an instructor before practicing tricks in the vertical wind tunnel. There's a range of packages available so you can take the plunge with your friends or family.
Don't Go Home Without
Experience the magic of movies on a whole new level at Cineworld, the UK's first 4DX cinema, located 7 minutes' drive from the hotel. Motion chairs vibrate and move in all directions and atmospheric effects include gusts of air and water, simulating the weather on screen. Floating bubbles, a fog machine and scents sprayed into the theatre are also used to enhance particular scenes in movies.
The parks in and around Milton Keyes are home to many striking sculptures and other pieces of public art. The Milton Keynes Parks Trust publishes a list of the most important pieces, plus some self-guided tours, on its website. You can see several of these works at Willen Lakeside Park, less than a mile from the hotel.
