We call this Archie's Rock because it was first shown to the Timmins Family YMCA Outers Club by Archie Chenier. It is an interesting geological feature that appears to have been pushed up from underlying rock layers sometime in the recent geological history of the area. To arrive at Archie's Rock, leave your vehicle on Little Star Lake Road near Highway 101. The trip will be roughly 3 km in and 3 km back, with about 1 km of walking into the rock formation.

Timmins' only bowling facility is a few steps away from the hotel, offering 5-pin bowling over 12 lanes. Shoe rental is available and complete with a licensed food counter. Rock & Glow bowling is available in the evenings on weekends.

The Hollinger Park Mini-Putt is located just behind the Hollinger Park, off Brunette Road. It offers an 18-hole mini-putt, batting cages and basketball hoops.

The Riverview Off-Leash Dog Park provides plenty of recreation for dogs, big and small. The 8,000-square-foot park has a supply of water to keep your pet hydrated, with free parking for 25 vehicles. Lighting and large shade trees will be added to the dog park.

The Dream Acres Alpaca Farm is located 30 minutes east of Timmins. These animals are curious but very timid. They are sociable and all have different personalities, which lead to wonderful photo opportunities. Take a tour of the farm and purchase various alpaca-related products. Take a walk or go snowshoeing on one of the many nature trails and enjoy the great outdoors.

The McIntyre Arena is the biggest arena in Timmins. It includes the McIntyre Curling Club and the McIntyre Coffee Shop, and hosts many of the city's major indoor events.

Collège Boréal’s Timmins campus offers post-secondary education—in French. Tour the campus to see what the college is all about. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting a student or stopping by to host an event or lecture, you’ll love that our hotel is only a 7-minute drive from this educational institution for Ontario’s Francophone population.
