The historic district of Centrailia includes 67 commercial buildings in 12 square blocks.

From the factory outlets at Exit 82, head east one and a half miles to the downtown antique district. The Lewis County Historical Museum is housed in the historic, 1912 turn of the century, Northern Pacific Railway Depot. Operated by the Lewis County Historical Society, it is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Lewis County, Washington

Mt St Helens is an active volcano, that violently erupted in 1980, after over a century of dormancy. The 1980 explosion blew off 3,000 feet of elevation and destroyed surrounding forests. After the eruption, 85,000 acres were preserved as the Mt St Helens National Volcanic Monument, where one can witness nature's healing process firsthand. Peer into a crater that still houses a smoking, throbbing lava dome. Following a brief period of dormancy, the volcano resumed activity in 2004.
