I was in PA for a competition in Pittsburgh and due to family requests, I found the Inn & Suites Express in Greensburg, PA. I've stayed in several other Inn & Suites and my dad claims to be a member of IGH, so I booked a room and my mom, sister, and I stayed in a queen suite room.
The location off the highway is incredibly convenient--it's approachable from 30 or 66. There is a slight issue with finding the driveway as it doesn't look like a driveway; it looks more like a service road between a settlement of houses and a box store business. I would highly recommend looking at an aerial view or street view of the location prior to arrival to avoid confusion.
Granted, it was 10pm at night after a 4 hour drive and a full work day so our car was slap happy the drive up to the hotel, and we all found the driveway situation hilarious.
Check in was a breeze and we were directed around the building for the closer entrance to our room.
The room itself was clean and neutral smelling--no foul odors and nothing too perfume-y trying to mask an unpleasant smell. As I booked a queen suite, there were two queen sized beds and a sofa bed but my mom and sister shared a bed leaving a full queen bed for me. The room was a great size for three people--if I had booked a standard it would have been too tight of a space. The suite really gave us room without feeling like we were on top of each other.
Some of the following is my own vindication in that I was right so take what I say with a grain of salt:
I was in PA for a competition in Pittsburgh. Greensburg is an hour away from the city. It's a beautiful drive BUT my mom and sister, who were tagging along to get a weekend away, insisted we not stay in the city because it's too noisy. My mom is retired and takes at least two naps a day. My sister, on the weekends, luxuriates in her room and enjoys lazy weekend days. Because we all shared a car, wherever one went, we all had to go.
For the duration of my time in Pittsburgh (most of Saturday), my mom and sister had to "suffer" without a room for napping and luxuriating. Saturday was very rough on them because they didn't listen to me and insisted they wanted to be farther away from the city. Next time, at their insistence, we're staying within 10 minutes of the convention center/arena.
All that to say the location, if you need to be in the Greensburg area, is fantastic. If you're looking for a hotel away from Pittsburgh but "close enough", this isn't it. It's about an hour away, which is not an insignificant amount of time to travel.
The continental breakfast provided good food and was very clean. They have a basic selection of cold cereals (chex, raisin bran, etc) with several milk options (cow, almond, and soy if I remember correctly); there's an oatmeal station; a rotating selection of hot foods such as omlettes, scrambles, bacon, ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy; breads to toast; a cold fridge with hard boiled eggs, milks, juice, and yogurt; a coffee bar; and a pancake machine. Everything was well stocked and the staff were readily available if you needed anything.
There are multiple restaurants in the area if you want to eat out and there's a Walmart and Sam's Club within a mile if you want to buy a frozen dinner and hide away for the evening.
Two places to call out in particular: Aroma Joe's and Tapped. Aroma Joe's is a coffee place relatively next door to the hotel. I wouldn't recommend walking (you'd have to cut through people's private property) but it's a two minute drive at worst. Tapped is a restaurant and their pizza was recommended by the staff. Both places are A+.
I would definitely come back to Greensburg as it's a nice place and is relaxed. Or as a stop on the way to Philly. Either way, this was a nice hotel and I would recommend it.

I was very happy with my stay here. It was clean and quiet. It was a good stop for the night between Chicago and DC. I would stay here again.

This is the hotel that our family always stays at when in Greensburg. The hotel is maintained very well, the staff is friendly and the breakfast exceeds our expectations, even as a mid-tier hotel. My wife likes the room cool and it is one of the few hotels where she can get it low enough.

The beds, bedding and soft pillows were very comfortable and the variety of food choices was amazing. The location is right off route 30 in Greensburg and made it very easy to access. The staff was very accommodating as well! We will go back!

We love how clean the room is and the variety of breakfast items available. The location is great with many stores around to visit. The pool looks clean however we did not get a chance to enjoy it. Elevators were fast.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed linens seemed fresh and clean. The choice of a soft or firm pillow for each of us was a great addition to the comfort. Even the floors were very clean. Thanks for your attention to detail.

staff is super friendly and helpful, room was very clean and comfy, breakfast was YUMMY and the pool was nice, a little cold but still nice to enjoy while it was raining outside. overall, we had a great stay! close to lots of shopping as well

This Holiday Inn is definitely the best IHG property which we have stayed at. From the check in to checking out they always seem to make us want to come back. Michael at the front desk has always been great every time we check in.
They have always seemed to go over the top as far as their breakfasts are concerned. Patty is always very pleasant and does an outstanding job with the breakfast area and food. She has always made us feel so welcomed with our little chats.
Will definitely be staying at this Holiday Inn whenever we are in the area.

Booked the room for a close friend who was in the area for a very important Dr appointment and the staff and hotel were very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and book again if in the area.

I want to give the gentleman working on 4/15 approx 7:30 pm a shout out! He was busy when I arrived and assisted everyone. I was very nervous being back in the area due to my circumstances. We chatted for a minute, as he was working on checking me in! He did a fabulous job at making me feel relaxed and safe about my stay. Even had me on first floor not far from the check in desk. I really appreciate his thoughtfulness and compassion for my needs. He may not realized what he had done for a single women traveling alone, but he made my sleep that night a little easier. Shout out to your staff! Thank you!
