Another good year as the hotel

Spent a week here. Friendly front desk. Bar tender telling jokes and serving drinks. Good food at the sea side bar. Rooms nice and cool. Good value for the money.

Excellent service from Hotel staff...room clean and comfortable. Staff attentive and prompt to requests made during our stay.
Highly recommend staying at Holiday Inn SPI.
Old Resort Falling Apart

Old hotel that it falling apart, the common areas and the room were in need of repairs and maintenance, the humidity in our room was so bad that the sheets felt wet. Considering the room rate gets up to 250 dollars a night it's serverely overpriced for the experience we had.
Needs help.

My status was not recognized, nor was my reason for stay. This was my honeymoon. I had made the reservation well in advance, I wasn't expecting a red carpet or anything, just a clean room and a pretty view.
We arrived late at night. We were tired, front desk staff was friendly and check in was easy, though my status was not recognized.
The first room we got was on the 3rd floor, i had asked for the highest floor (they have 6) but thought maybe they didnt have enough rooms. Well, the room had roaches, so we quickly went down stairs and asked to be moved. They moved us to the 4th floor.
At this point its 1 am, we just want to sleep. We dont see any roaches so we sit our things down and try to take a shower. The pressure is so low it takes 3 minutes just to get my hair wet. It took 10 minutes for the water to heat up. In the morning when we woke up, we saw more roaches.
We immediately went down stairs and talked to the front desk (they were very kind and eager to help) they gave us keys to another room near the one we were already in.
We check out the room first, as soon as we open the door we're hit with this awful, strong mildew smell. We look around and find mold all over the lampshade and part of the wall.
We take pictures, go back downstairs and show the front desk. They dont look at the pictures, instead they say maybe we should just try staying somewhere else.
I ask what rooms they have available. "Everything is pretty much open" is what the guy tells me. They have very few guests. So most rooms are available. We start looking for other places to go but I wasn't anticipating spending more money, the guy comes back with 1 more key and says "you can see if this is to your liking"
Its on the 6th floor and its a suite. Has some nice amenities and its a nice room, we look at it, don't see an issue, like the view, has no roaches or mold so we agree to move to that room.
We ended up having issues but the front desk would wave us off or just suggest we stay somewhere else.
We ended up seeing some roaches a few times, the batteries didn't work for the remotes but they refused to give us new ones, we opened the remotes to see the batteries stuck in and caked in acid.
We didn't want to be moved again, just at least have the issues addressed.
We never yelled or had a temper, im not one to complain, I just wanted to check in and enjoy my time.
Ultimately I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
How are you going to tell me you dont have a roach problem and there's a dead one right in front of your front desk?
I understand its the beach, things happen, humidity is a thing, but youre running a business and you should take pride in it.

I was very disappointed with the property given the Holiday Inn brand and the property being listed as a "resort". Let me start with a couple of things that were actually good.
Location. Very easy beach access.
The room. While the room was outdated and in need of renovation, it was clean, the temperature was comfortable, and the bed slept good.
Pool area did seem nice, although we did not actually use it.
Now the bad.
The entire property is outdated and in need of renovation.
The common areas were quite worm. They had some spot coolers in different locations but that still did not make the areas comfortable.
The room bathroom, while clean, needs renovation.
Front desk staff was difficult to contact on the phone at times.
The restaurant, while the food was good, Was not much of a restaurant. It was mainly just an open area with tables that served food.
Housekeeping was missed on two different days and we had to call the front desk to request clean towels.
If all you need is a place to sleep with easy beach access, this might work for you. But if you are looking for more this probably is not the best choice.

It was generally a very bad check in experience.
During busy check in hours, only one desk was open to check in.
None of the diamond elite benefits was experienced.
The welcome amenity was not even mentioned by front desk. Later I get a email saying I picked points, no question was even asked.
I requested for higher floor when I booked, I was put on level 3 out of 6 levels.
Tried to contact front desk, doesn’t even have any front desk button on the phone. Looked up phone number for the hotel, called multiple times and no one picked up.

Absplute horrid hotel. The pics of the outside are very old. The restaurant outside smells like a sewer. The staff is not helpful, they dont honor the free breakfast and my bill is wrong and there were exposed wires on the carpet under the ac units. I had the king suite that sleeps 6 and they cleaned my room once. And rhey hsvr these big dumb tree stumps in 5he room with bases that wreck your toes and take up space unnecesarily

This has to be the most overhyped and poorly maintained property in the IHG portfolio. South Padre Island is already an overworked destination—known for spring break and crowded summer vacations—but this hotel makes it worse. Ownership clearly has no interest in reinvesting profits into upgrades or even basic maintenance. Do yourself a favor and stay at Margaritaville just down the street—you’ll have a far better experience.

El hotel muy deteriorado
Instalaciones sucias
La habitación muy sucio el sillón
Había remodelación al lado de mi habitación, mucho ruido
Pague desayuno adelantado. Muy malo, pésimo
Cuando reservé ofrecían idioma español y no fue cierto.
La cafetera de la habitación no funcionaba, solicité cambio, no lo hicieron
No había hielo ninguno de los 2 días en ninguna máquina.
Blood stains on bed sheet

I usually do not write a review on hotel, but this time is exceptional. 1st, Staff did not offer me to take the welcome point or drink. 2nd, Cleanliness. We discover that red lipstick was all over the bed comforter and call the front for the incident but no one is picking up the phone. This is acceptable for not picking up the phone since they are very busy at front due to Labor Days Weekend. I walk downstair and waiting in line to let the front desk knows to change the bed comforter. Okayed, bed comforter was replaced. We stayed at the hotel from Saturday to Monday. On Monday, when we gather our stubs before checking out. We discovered that blood was all over the bed sheet. We did not see this before because bed comfortable from the unstain lipsticks was covering the blood. This is discusting. my kids slept on bed that has blood stains all over for 2 days and for sure that they did not change the bed sheet from the previous tenants before us. This is unacceptable for Holiday Inn and especially for a loyalty customer like me.

Worse experience ever; not only was stay horrible but we were exposed to watching men have a sexual 3 way. I have notified to have managers contact me and nothing. I haven’t even gotten my money released to me.

Upon arrival the hotel room floor was soaking wet making the room extremely humid and the bedding also wet. I have it he benefit of the doubt since it is a hotel on the beach and hoped it would eventually dry up but it didnt the room smelled of mold and wet cloth. I didnt want to take away from the fun and cause issues so we spent most of the day in the pool which was a nice and big area and I loved that they provided entertainment. We managed to have a good time despite the struggle to sleep in wet sheets at night.
