Things to do

The Duomo

P.za del Duomo, Milano, Milano 20122

The Duomo of Milan is the city's cathedral located in the namesake square. This masterpiece is the largest gothic church in the world and its timeless beauty makes it a relevant landmark, not only for the city itself but also for the entire country. The church has also earned another record: this building houses the highest number of statues in the world, have fun counting them all!

The Sforzesco Castle

Piazza Castello, Milano, Milano 20121

One of the symbols of Milan, the Sforzesco Castle houses the very interesting civic collection of the city's museums. Established since the nineteenth century, the collection includes paintings, sculptures, furniture, ceramics, tapestries and much more. And, as in any castle, a mysterious secret passageway cannot be missing: according to some, walking along it would lead to the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Unfortunately, the tunnel is blocked by a landslide.

The Alla Scala Theater

Via Filodrammatici, 2, Milano, Milano 20121

The Alla Scala Theater is an institution in the world of opera. Built by the order of Maria Theresa of Austria, this theatre laid the foundations for those built in the following years. In addition to being considered among the most prestigious opera houses in the world, the theatre is said to host an unusual presence: the ghost of Maria Malibra, a famous 19th-century soprano. Do not miss out on visiting it and tell us if you hear her singing!

The Brera Pinacoteca

Via Brera, 28 Milano, Milano, Milano 20121

The Brera Pinacoteca, a must for those visiting Milan, is housed in the namesake palace built in the seventeenth century. In addition to the Pinacoteca, the palace also houses a library and, in its gardens, a beautiful botanical garden. Among the numerous works of art preserved here, Hayez's Kiss is certainly one of the most famous and appreciated.
